Abstract

Creativity in early childhood is a crucial foundation for children’s cognitive and social development. This article examines how various play activities can serve as effective media to build creativity in early childhood. The research method used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group involving children aged 4–6 years in early childhood education settings. The results show that constructive play, role-playing, and outdoor play activities significantly enhance children’s creative abilities. Furthermore, the role of the environment and adult support positively influences creativity development. These findings highlight the importance of providing meaningful play activities and a conducive environment to maximize children’s creative potential from an early age. Practical implications for educators and parents are also discussed as efforts to improve the quality of early childhood education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of the traditional rope jumping game in stimulating the development of gross motor skills and social skills of early childhood at Kiddi Care Kindergarten. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through direct observation and interviews with accompanying teachers. The results of the observation indicate that the rope jumping game can enhance children's motor coordination, balance, agility, and muscle strength, which are crucial components of gross motor development. In addition, this game also strengthens children's abilities in concentration, discipline, and cooperation. Children appear enthusiastic, can follow the rules, and show positive social interactions during the activity. Interviews with teachers support these findings, where teachers state that the rope jumping game is an effective means of training physical skills while shaping children's character. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the traditional rope jumping game is a worthy addition to early childhood learning as a fun and holistic educational medium.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how puzzle games affect the problem-solving abilities of early childhood children. This study used quantitative methods and a quasi-experimental design. The study involved children aged 4 to 6 years from various early childhood education institutions (PAUD). Purposive sampling was used to collect samples. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests of problem-solving abilities and observations of children's behavior while playing puzzles. Logical thinking, creativity, concentration, focus, use of problem-solving strategies, and willingness to learn were all metrics used for assessment. To determine the differences in abilities before and after treatment, the collected data were analyzed statistically. The results of the study showed that puzzle game intervention improved children's problem-solving abilities. Children learned to identify problems, make plans for solutions, and work independently. In addition, it was proven that puzzle games as a learning medium were more effective with the help and guidance of teachers and parents. According to this study, puzzle games are an effective tool for developing the cognitive, social, and emotional abilities of early childhood.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of caregivers’ communication styles on children’s social skills at daycare centers in Al-Wathaniyah. The research employed a quantitative correlational approach, involving 50 children aged 3–6 years and their caregivers as research participants. Data were collected through questionnaires and observations measuring caregivers’ communication styles, including verbal, non-verbal, empathy, and responsiveness, as well as children’s social skills, which consist of interaction, sharing, cooperation, and emotional expression. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation. The results showed that caregivers’ communication styles were categorized as high, and children’s social skills were also high. A significant positive relationship was found between caregivers’ communication styles and children’s social skills, with a correlation value of r = 0.72 and p < 0.05. This study confirms that caregivers who employ warm, empathetic, and responsive communication can enhance children’s social skills optimally. The findings are relevant for daycare managers, caregivers, and parents to support children’s social development through effective communication.
