Abstract

Measuring the engine's temperature and compression pressure in cars is a crucial part of engine maintenance and performance evaluation. The objective of this study is to develop an accurate and efficient spreadsheet-based measurement system for determining engine temperature and compression pressure in automobiles. For this investigation, data from car engines was collected using engine temperature thermometers and compression pressure gauges. The collected data is then fed into a spreadsheet designed specifically to assess and automatically calculate engine temperature and compression pressure. The results show how reliable and accurate the measurements made using this spreadsheet-based measurement technique are. This approach's main benefits are also its flexibility and ease of use, since users can rapidly adapt the spreadsheet to the particular needs of the engine being tested. With this technology in place, car owners or professionals who do engine maintenance can quickly detect potential engine problems, such as valve leakage or unexpected temperature increases. Therefore, to increase fuel efficiency and extend engine life, spreadsheets can be utilized as a tool for measuring engine performance. The goal of this project is to facilitate the work of auto repair shop owners by utilizing the Esp8266 microcontroller for the DS18b20 sensor and compression sensor. Even so, there are several difficulties, like a sluggish internet connection that delays uploading data to the LCD and spreadsheets that are less useful because of a bad internet connection.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of a thermal cooling system utilizing copper pipes in regulating solar panel temperature and enhancing energy efficiency. The system incorporates water-fed copper pipes with an automatic valve mechanism, which controls water flow based on real-time temperature measurements. Experiments were conducted at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo using two 100 Wp solar panels, where key parameters such as voltage, current, power output, and surface temperature were monitored. The results demonstrate that the cooling system effectively lowers panel temperature, leading to significant improvements in voltage and power generation. The cooled solar panel achieved a maximum efficiency of 43.7%, compared to only 24.07% without cooling. Additionally, the cooling system stabilized maximum power voltage (VMP) and maximum power output (PMAX), preventing performance degradation due to excessive heat accumulation. These findings confirm that integrating a copper pipe thermal cooling system enhances solar panel efficiency, providing a viable solution for improving photovoltaic energy conversion and ensuring long-term operational stability.

Abstract

Pests plague farmers both during planting and after harvest. One of the pests that most often causes crops to fail during harvest time is rats. These pests usually attack communities of tens to thousands of people, causing a lot of losses. Since rat pests attack close to harvest, farmers usually drive rats out of the fields. This research method uses the R&D method. This research aims to assist farmers in repelling rat pests to get good quality rice. The test that will be used is a partial test. Where, partial tests that will be carried out on sensor parts are sensor movement tests, LoRa data transmission tests and LoRa distance measurement tests. The LoRa-based rat repellent system uses a combination of sensors and ultrasonic frequency transmitters to detect and repel rats. With LoRa (Long Range) technology, the system can send and receive data remotely with little power, which enables real-time monitoring and control of devices over a wireless network. Test results show that the system can function optimally under various environmental conditions, has a wide communication range, and responds quickly to pests. This shows that the integration of LoRa in the rat repellent system can improve pest control more efficiently and environmentally friendly than conventional methods.

Abstract

This research explores Underwater Friction Stir Welding (UFSW) on AA6005-T6 material, focusing on identifying optimal process parameters to enhance joint quality in terms of macrostructure, tensile strength, impact strength, and hardness. The results from UFSW welding of AA6005-T6 indicate that optimal process parameters yield better joint quality. The macrostructure of specimens with optimal parameters, such as spc 7, demonstrates improved homogeneity and minimal defects. The highest tensile strength and impact strength were achieved in this specimen, with a tensile strength of 117.7 MPa and an impact strength of 0.944 joule/mm², compared to other specimens. Meanwhile, the hardness of the welded joints, which is lower than the base metal, reflects the influence of process parameters on the microstructure of the joints. Overall, these results underscore the importance of precise parameter control to achieve high-quality welds. This research provides valuable insights into the effectiveness of process parameters in producing high-quality joints in underwater welding environments and highlights the potential of UFSW as an innovative method for underwater welding.
