Abstract

Adolescence is full conflict period in the life of teens are signed by rebellion behavior dynamic and avoid order and social norms. Freedom become the main demands and family with their norms produced are seens as cause of their not free situations. Parents should be  understand  these problems as something that has to be faced, no judge them as disorder. By  the literature analysis this study recommends interpersonal communication model that is listening as the way to understand the  teens problems adequately. Abstract

The reaction of the market community of Gede, Solo, Central Java, to the declaration of Joko Widodo-Kiai Ma'ruf Amin and Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Salahudin Uno, as candidates for President and Vice President, unique. They wear four candidates' masks. This research aims to explore the meaning of the using of mask. Using Michel Foucault's hermeneutical-archeological approach, it is hoped that traces of the deepest meaning can be traced, why do people use masks? Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic analysis with triangle meaning method (representament, object, and interpretant) is used to data analyze, especially mask photos. As one type of qualitative research, this study produces meaning findings as follows: real markets characterized by crowds, crowded people, passing sellers and buyers, and the transportation activities of busy goods also do not occur. This condition symbolizes criticism of the behavior of the government which is too happy to play the image in front of their people. This is also a symbol of weakness or failure of the government to place the people (in the market) as the main actors driving the welfare of a nation. We all know that the welfare of a nation is represented by the high activity of "selling" and "buying" on the market. The masks of candidates for the President and Vice President who are not in the center are also not in front of the market, symbolizing criticism of the government which has not been in the midst of its people to motivate and build optimism. They also criticized the government which could not be a role model for the good of the nation. In other words, the mask as a whole contains the criticism of the argument that the people are not sure that leaders can motivate their people, or leaders cannot be trusted to be role models for the welfare of their people.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dibuat untuk menanggapi sebuah laporan hasil penelitian disertasi doktoral yang berjudul, “The Media Construction of Anti-Immigration Positions: The Discourse on The Romanian Immigrants in the British Press.” Tujuan penelitian adalah memeriksa perangkat metodologi dan teori, serta merekomendasikan metode dan teori untuk merekonstruksikan ideologi media atas peristiwa. Dengan menggunakan metode kajian literatur penelitian menemukan sejumlah kekeliruan metodologis dan teoretis karena analisis framing dan analisis wacana dipakai secara bersamaan. Kekeliruan terjadi karena memadusatukan dua pendekatan yang cara kerjanya berbeda, yaitu: framing (Robert N. Entman) dan analisis wacana kritis (Teun van Dijk). Penyatuan framing Entman dengan analisis wacana kritis Teun van Dijk kurang tepat, karena kalau dipaksakan output analisisnya memiliki kecenderungan, di satu pihak memberi porsi besar kepada satu pendekatan/metode dan meminggirkan pendekatan/metode lainnya. Alih-alih melakukan mixed approach, malah yang terjadi meminggirkan satu dari keduanya. Penekanan yang maksimal terhadap framing, meminggirkan peran analisis wacana kritis, atau porsi analisis wacana kritis menjadi hilang justeru karena menekankan framing sebagai alat analisis utama. Direkomendasikan agar analisis framing Entman dipadusatukan dengan wacana kritis model Theo van Leeuwen melalui proses exclusion dan inclusion, atau analisis wacana kritis Teun van Dijk di-mixed-kan dengan framing Zhongdang Pan dan Gerard M. Kosichi, karena tiga tingkatan struktural Teun van Dijk, seperti: Struktur makro, Superstruktur dan Struktur mikro analogis dengan model framing Zhongdang Pan dan Gerard M. Kosichi, yang memiliki model operasional: Sintaksis, Skrip, Tematik, dan Retoris.

Abstract

Abstrak: Lembaga-lembaga kursus dan para peminat kursus harus melakukan penyesuian dengan kondisi pandemic Covid 19. Penelitian ini diarahkan dan mencoba melihat faktor yang memengaruhi peminat mengambil program bahasa Inggris intensif pada masa pandemi COVID-19. Tujuanya adalah (1) menggambarkan proses pengambilan keputusan calon konsumen (siswa), peminat kursus bahasa Inggris untuk membeli program bahasa Inggris insentif di lembaga bahasa Inggris di Jakarta serta (2) untuk mengidentifikasi faktor yang bersifat influensial terhadap keputusan membeli program intensif tersebut. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut penelitian kuantitatif dengan pemodelan struktural melalui Partial Least Square (PLS-SEM) digunakan sebagai alat analisis. Adapun ukuran sampel pada penelitian ini antara 130 sampai dengan 260. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Brand Image yang paling mempengaruhi keputusan untuk membeli program insetif kursus bahasa Inggris adalah kemampuan para pengajar tempat kursus, dan kurikulum yang dimiliki. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa walaupun kondisi sosial ekonomi selama pandemi ini memiliki dampak bagi institusi pengajaran bahasa Inggris, namun peluang bagi pelaku usaha tempat kursus dapat melakukan penyesuaian dalam metode pembelajaran dan biaya agar dapat lebih menarik minat calon peserta. Kata kunci: Bahasa Inggris, Intensif, Lembaga kursus, Kputusan membeli, Proses pembelian. Abstract: Course institutions and course enthusiasts must make adjustments to the conditions of the Covid 19 pandemic. This research is directed and tries to look at the factors that influence enthusiasts to take intensive English programs during the COVID-19 pandemic. The objectives are (1) to describe the decision-making process of prospective consumers (students), interested in English courses to buy an incentive English program at an English language institution in Jakarta and (2) to identify factors that are influential in the decision to buy the intensive program. To achieve this objective, quantitative research with structural modeling through Partial Least Square (PLS-SEM) is used as an analytical tool. The sample size in this study is between 130 to 260. This study shows that the Brand Image that most influences the decision to purchase an English language incentive program is the ability of the instructors at the course, and the curriculum they have. This research shows that although socioeconomic conditions during this pandemic have had an impact on English language teaching institutions, there are opportunities for business actors where courses can make adjustments in learning methods and costs in order to attract more potential participants. Abstract

Perilaku konsumen khususnya di kalangan generasi milenial dipengaruhi oleh YouTube dan tayangan iklan yang terkait dengan medianya yang cenderung bervariasi. Tindakan yang diambil untuk menghindari iklan di platform ini memiliki pengaruh pada kemampuan merek untuk menjangkau audiens yang dituju. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan dan menganalisis sikap pengguna YouTube dari generasi milenial terhadap iklan Halodoc's COVID-19. Ini adalah studi kuantitatif yang menggunakan pemodelan struktural parsial (PLS-SEM). SMART PLS digunakan dalam alat analisis penelitian ini. Ukuran sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 170 partisipan generasi millenial. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa secara efek langsung maupun mediasi, aspek keinformatifan tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap nilai iklan dan perilaku audiens. Hal ini berbeda dengan aspek hiburan dimana menunjukan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan. Aspek iritasi dan kredibilitas masing-masing menunjukan tidak adanya pengaruh yang signifikan pada nilai iklan dan perilaku audiens.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh semakin pesatnya perkembangan aplikasi dan penggunanya, tidak terkecuali Bibit. Di masa COVID-19 sendiri, penggunaan aplikasi ini sendiri telah mengalami pertumbuhan yang signifikan, khususnya dalam menargetkan pengguna dari kalangan muda seperti generasi Z. Terbntuknya kesadaran untuk melakukan investasi seperti pada reksadana juga turut mendukug pertumbuhan penggunaan aplikasi ini. Berdasarkan hal ini, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis intensi penggunaan Bibit dan tindakan untuk melakukan advokasi pada merek Bibit itu sendiri. PLS-SEM dan alat analisis SmartPLS digunakan pada penelitian untuk menganalisis 230 responden generasi Z yang berdomisi di Jabodetabek. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa aspek kemudahan penggunaan lebih dominan membentuk pengaruh penggunaan intensi penggunaan aplikasi Bibit. Selain itu, intensi penggunaan aplikasi Bibit ini sendiri dapat membentuk intensi melakukan advokasi merek Bibit itu sendiri. Keterbatasan yang ada dalam penelitian ini yaitu penggunaan kelompok responden yang hanya melibatkan satu generasi saja. Sedangkan area penelitian dapat diperluas untuk penelitian berikutnya

Abstract

The plan to host the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia has finally been canceled. The cancellation was triggered by the rejection of several Indonesian political figures towards the presence of the U-20 Israeli national team in the country. FIFA, as the governing body of world football, promptly took action by canceling the draw event that was supposed to take place in Bali. In a short period of time, FIFA officially revoked Indonesia's status as the host of the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup. This study utilizes the Pan and Kosicki framing analysis framework with a constructivist approach to examine how both media outlets construct this phenomenon. The research approach is comparative as the author aims to compare different perspectives from both online media sources.

Abstract

Ciamsi, a long-standing historical legacy, continues to be popular to this day, serving as concrete evidence of its enduring appeal. Spanning the tumultuous shifts of historical epochs, Ciamsi has persevered and been preserved within various temples, both large and small, playing a pivotal role as a divination tool. The enduring presence of Ciamsi not only underscores its unquestionable intrinsic value but also reflects the unwavering spirit of Chinese tradition and its cultural heritage. Consequently, this research is deeply rooted in the environment of centuries-old temples in Jakarta, where Ciamsi has become an inseparable part of the local cultural fabric. The primary objective of this research is to delve profoundly into the intricate meanings and interpretations embedded within Ciamsi. Additionally, the research aims to unveil the profound role of symbolism within the realm of Ciamsi, as employed by Vihara Dharma Bhakti and Vihara Dharma Jaya Toasebio. To achieve these objectives, this study employs the comprehensive hermeneutical framework introduced by the eminent philosopher, Paul Ricouer. This research fundamentally aligns with the qualitative research paradigm, enabling a profound and nuanced understanding of the subject matter.

Abstract

The communication model in the family is part of the interpersonal communication. Here the role of parents can be called as the main communicator in the delivery of communication messages. To achieve the effectiveness of a parent communication certainly has its own way of delivering messages to their children, especially when children face certain problems in their social life. As an effective message delivery standard, this activity suggests three possible patterns of communication skills, including: listening communication; Open communication; and honest communication. Listening communication is a parent-to-child interpersonal communication model, or a form of communication involved, especially in responding to the psychological needs of the child. Open communication is a communication that enables messengers and message recipients to understand what they want to achieve in an ongoing communication. Parents as messengers and children as recipients of the message occupy the same position in the exchange of communication messages they are building. While honest communication is a communication model that is delivered with the aim of fostering self-esteem of children. These three models of communication, apart from being the most important way to find solutions to problems faced by children, as well as a way to counter the tendency of self-egoism of parents. With these communication patterns parents are able to absorb what children expect. And, in this way, children feel understood and appreciated by their parents.Keywords: Interpersonal Communication, Listening, Open, Honest.

Abstract

The rapid development of communication technology allows the communication community to get and do two things at once. On the one hand, the communication community can easily get the information they need, on the other hand the communication community is now productively creating various information content needed by the community. This seminar is intended to make young people aware,  that there is an opportunity for them to democratically convey news to others in the concept of citizen journalism. This seminar was attended by 89 participants from SMA Budi Mulia. The theme of the seminar was citizen journalism as an expression of the democratic attitude of  people. Citizen journalism is a form of community-based journalistic activity, because it has basic characteristics, such as: participatory, community-based, fact-based information, being an alternative media, socially oriented non-profit, and driven by internet-based social media. On the one hand, the characters can provide various alternative sources of information for the audience, but on the other hand, these characters provide a wide space for public duping, hoaxes, and hate speech. In order to balance the very strong character of information based on freedom, it is necessary to apply various ethical principles in collecting and sharing news in citizen journalism. The ethical principles include: accurate, balanced, fair, complete, objective and clear. By upholding ethical principles, citizen journalism is not only considered an alternative media for information, but also the main media in the process of educating the public. The media educates the public in order to uphold its dignity as a reliable source of information.
