Abstract

The development of technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), has brought significant changes in various aspects of life, including education. The presence of AI has opened new opportunities to create a more effective, interactive, and adaptive learning process tailored to students’ needs. This technology can be applied in nearly all aspects of academic learning, from providing information resources to supporting cognitive processes and practice activities. In the context of language learning, especially Mandarin writing skills, AI plays an important role as a learning tool that helps students overcome various challenges, such as difficulties in understanding sentence structures, writing hanzi, and composing grammatically correct paragraphs. This study employed a mixed-methods research approach using a convergent parallel design, which combines quantitative and qualitative data to gain a comprehensive understanding. The findings indicate that AI can serve as an effective learning aid when used appropriately and responsibly. In writing skills, AI has been shown to assist students in understanding vocabulary, sentence structure, translation, and organizing short, structured paragraphs. However, the use of AI should be guided to ensure that students do not become overly dependent on it, but rather use the technology to strengthen their conceptual mastery and develop independent writing abilities. Therefore, AI should function as a supportive learning tool, not as a replacement for the teacher’s role in the Mandarin language learning process.

Abstract

This community service project focuses on enhancing multilingual digital marketing competencies through the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) technology at the Job Training Center (UPT Balai Latihan Kerja) of Magelang City. The program was designed to improve the skills of MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) participants in leveraging AI for digital marketing, with an emphasis on the effective creation of multilingual content. The project was implemented in three main stages: (1) Planning, which involved preparatory activities, identification of participants' needs, and the development of relevant training materials; (2) Implementation, as the core phase, in which participants received hands-on training on the application of AI technologies particularly ChatGPT for generating marketing content, social media posts, and blog articles in multiple languages; and (3) Evaluation, during which participants' competency improvements were measured through direct assessments of their generated content and the completion of questionnaires. The evaluation results indicated a significant improvement in participants' abilities to produce engaging and multilingual digital marketing content, as well as a deeper understanding of AI utilization in marketing strategies. This program is expected to make a substantial contribution to expanding the market reach of MSMEs and enhancing their competitiveness in an increasingly global market environment.

Abstract

Abstrak Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pemasaran digital peserta pelatihan di UPT Balai Latihan Kerja Kota Magelang melalui pemanfaatan kecerdasan buatan (AI) multibahasa dan teknik produksi konten visual. Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya literasi digital dan kesulitan pelaku usaha mikro dalam memproduksi materi promosi yang efektif. Kegiatan pelatihan dilaksanakan melalui metode berbasis kompetensi dan praktik langsung, mencakup pelatihan copywriting iklan dengan AI, penerjemahan multibahasa menggunakan ChatGPT, serta teknik fotografi dan desain grafis dengan Canva. Evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa 85,4% peserta merasa siap mengimplementasikan teknologi AI dalam pemasaran produk. Selain peningkatan kemampuan individu, kegiatan ini juga memberikan sarana produksi visual bagi mitra untuk mendukung keberlanjutan keterampilan pasca-pelatihan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan praktis, kolaboratif, dan adaptif berbasis teknologi mampu menjawab tantangan keterbatasan pemasaran UMKM di era digital. Kata kunci: pemasaran digital, kecerdasan buatan, UMKM, multibahasa, Canva, ChatGPT, Balai Latihan Kerja Abstract This community service program aims to enhance the digital marketing competencies of vocational trainees at the Magelang City Job Training Center through the use of multilingual artificial intelligence (AI) and visual content production techniques. The activity responds to the low level of digital literacy and the difficulty micro-entrepreneurs face in creating effective promotional materials. The training used a competency-based, hands-on approach, including AI-assisted advertising copywriting, multilingual translation with ChatGPT, and basic photography and graphic design with Canva. Evaluation results show that 85.4% of participants felt ready to apply AI in their marketing strategies. In addition to individual capacity building, the program also provided the partner institution with content production equipment to ensure the sustainability of the acquired skills. Overall, this initiative demonstrates that a practical, collaborative, and technology-based approach can effectively address marketing limitations faced by micro-enterprises in the digital age.
