Abstract

Jubung Village is the largest soybean producer in Sukorambi District. Partners in this service are farmer groups in Jubung with the name of the Farmer Group "Tani Mulyo". This partner has the problem of soybean production that cannot increase and the high price of fertilizer. The solution offered to solve the problem is the use of local Microorganisms (MOLs). MOL is useful for increasing plant production and bio activators and fermentation of animal feed. Mimosa has the potential as an antimicrobial food pathogen. Mimosa root can speed up the process of absorption of nutrients and water, as well as remodel organic matter in the soil. The purpose of the service activity is to introduce the technology of making root MOL to supporting organic farming. The solutions provided will be divided into several activities, including socialization, counseling about the role of PGPR and MOL, soybean cultivation according to GAP, practices for making Root MOL, monitoring and evaluation. The results of the activity showed that the participants participated in the activity enthusiastically, as evidenced by the discussion that went well. The indicators of the success of making MOL are indicated by the characteristics of cloudy color and have a fermentation smell

Abstract

In the daily life of Indonesian people, it is inseparable from the problem of waste produced by human life which can cause environmental pollution. The average population in Indonesia has not properly processed the waste produced, especially in Jubung Village, Sukorambi District, Jember Regency. Usually, residents dispose of waste by burning it or not processing it. This causes serious problems such as unpleasant and disturbing odors, besides it will trigger the growth of microorganisms that cause disease. One effort to deal with this problem is to conduct training and processing of household waste by converting household waste or waste into organic fertilizer that can be used as a source of nutrition for plants. Training in making organic fertilizers from agricultural waste in the form of kitchen waste (vegetables) was chosen in this activity because most of the population in Jubung Village works as farmers. The activity was carried out in 3 stages, namely socialization, counseling, and practice of making organic fertilizers. The results obtained from this community service activity were that farmers can directly practice how to process household waste by converting it into useful organic fertilizers. This training was very useful for increasing knowledge and skills as well as creativity in processing household waste into organic fertilizers.

Abstract

The productivity of common beans has fluctuated in the last 5 years. The decrease and increase in productivity occur due to decreased soil quality due to a lack of organic matter. Plant productivity with excessive use of inorganic fertilizers can reduce soil fertility. The solution to restoring microbial activity and soil fertility levels can be taken through a nature farming approach, namely by utilizing organic fertilizers derived from cow manure and additional plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) biological fertilizers. This research was conducted at a production site on Jalan Tidar, Jember, East Java, from January to March 2023. The design used was factorial RAK with 3 repetitions. The first factor was the dose of cow manure, which consists of 4 levels, namely 0, 10, 15, and 20 tons/ha. The second factor was the concentration of PGPR, which consists of 4 levels: 0, 10, 15, and 20 mL/L. The results do not show any interaction between cow manure and PGPR on all parameters. Cow manure has a noticeable effect on growth parameters and quantity. The best dose of cow manure and the highest protein content value was 20 tons/ha. The concentration of PGPR had only a noticeable effect on plant height and number of leaves. PGPR concentrations of 15 mL/L and 20 mL/L both give the best results and produce the highest antioxidant activity value at 15 mL/L. Keywords: Antioxidant activity, common bean, cow manure, pgpr, protein
