Abstract

Bahan baku pembuatan kue umumnya berasal dari tepung terigu yang sebagian besar merupakan barang impor dan mahal, sehingga kelompok mitra hanya membuat kue berdasarkan pesanan. Produksi kue yang tidak kontinu menyebabkan pendapatan yang rendah dan tidak pasti. Untuk mendukung keberlanjutan proses usaha di Amanda Jaya, diperlukan modifikasi bahan baku pembuatan kue dari tepung jagung. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah mengenalkan teknologi pengolahan dan pengemasan cookies dari tepung jagung lokal untuk meningkatkan nilai guna dari jagung lokal serta berdaya saing. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan dengan metode ceramah dan praktik yang terdiri dari (a) penyuluhan tentang produksi makanan sesuai Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), (b) praktik pembuatan cookies dari tepung jagung lokal, (c) penyuluhan tentang teknologi pengemasan dan pelabelan produk. Para peserta belum mengetahui standar GMP menggunakan prinsip Cara Pembuatan Makanan yang Baik (CPMB) dalam proses pembuatan kue, namun lokasi produksi kue sudah baik. Cookies dikemas menggunakan toples plastik dan aluminium foil dan diberi label “Jalo Cookies” (jagung lokal cookies) supaya lebih menarik. Cookies dari 100% tepung jagung mempunyai rasa yang bisa diterima, namun peserta tidak terlalu menyukai teksturnya karena terlalu kasar dan mudah pecah. Rencana selanjutnya adalah memodifikasi komposisi tepung jagung dengan tepung terigu pada resep.

Abstract

Selada merah merupakan sayuran berdaun merah, mengandung antosianin sebagai sumber antioksidan serta bermanfaat bagi kesehatan. Selada merah kaya antosianin menjadi sayur yang menyehatkan, dimana kandungannya dapat ditingkatkan melalui cekaman abiotik, sehingga akumulasi antosianin pada daun lebih tinggi. Penelitian ini memodifikasi kualitas cahaya dengan memberikan warna cahaya lampu LED (merah, kuning, hijau dan biru) dan variasi konsentrasi media dengan penambahan molybdenum (0; 0,01; 0,02; 0,03 mg/L). Hasil penelitan menunjukkan bahwa paparan warna lampu LED biru dan merah menyebabkan meningkatnya kandungan antosianin dan klorofil pada semua media tanaman yang mengandung molibdnum (Mo)., dan sebaliknya dengan peberian paparan warna kuning dan hijau. Kombinasi paparan cahaya lampu LED warna biru dan 0,03 mg/L Mo mampu meningkatkan kandungan antosianin pada daun selada merah mencapai 676,22 µg/g berat segar daun, sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai acuan dalam meningkatkan kualitas selada merah dengan pemilihan warna cahaya dan media tanaman yang optimal.

Abstract

Ornamental plants now become a trend among the public. The hobby of growing ornamental plants causes the demand for ornamental plant is increased day by day, especially the Aglaonema ornamental plant. In general, the propagation of Aglaonema plants is carried out by using separation of tillers and stem cuttings of 4-7 segments. Due to the high demand for Aglaonema plants, a new method of plant propagation is needed, in order to produce more plants in a short time, by using the single bud nursery method. Aglaonema stem cuttings are difficult to do because Aglaonema plants has bud's dormancy period. Dormancy of Aglaonema plant buds is triggered by apical dominance. The way to break bud dormancy on Aglaonema cuttings is using zpt auxin (Rootone-f). In addition, plants also need nutrients to grow, by providing fertilizer. Fertilization for ornamental plants generally uses foliar fertilizer (Gandasil D). This research was conducted using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) which consisted of 2 factors, the first factor zpt auxin (Rootone-f) which consisted of 4 levels (0 ppm, 100 ppm, 200 ppm, 300 ppm), and the second factor was Gandasil D foliar fertilizer which consisted of 3 treatment levels (0 g/l, 1 g/l, 2 g/l) so there are 12 treatment combinations. Each combination was repeated 3 times, thus forming 36 experimental units. The data were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) to determine the effect of the treatment and those whose effects were significantly different were further tested using the Ducan Multiple Range (DMRT) with a 95% confidence level. The combination of auxin zpt treatment (Rootone-f) with a concentration of 200 ppm and Gandasil D foliar fertilizer with a concentration of 2 g/l showed the best treatment combination on the parameters of observing fresh weight of Aglaonema plants. The concentration of zpt auxin (Rootone-f) 200 ppm gave the highest average value of shoot length, number of leaves, root length, and number of roots of Aglaonema plants. The concentration of Gandasil D 2 g/l foliar fertilizer gave the highest average leaf length and leaf width of Aglaonema plants.

Abstract

Produktivitas tanaman mentimun di Indonesia umumnya masih rendah, salah satu penyebabnya adalah kondisi tanah yang keras akibat pemupukan anorganik yang terus, menerus. Bunga jantan pada mentimum juga banyak sehingga jumlah buah yang dihasilkan sedikit. Untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman mentimun dapat dilakukan dengan pemberian pupuk organik kotoran kambing yang dapat memperbaiki sifat fisik kimia dan biologi tanah serta zat pengatur tumbuh (ZPT) paclobutrazol yang dapat meningkatkan jumlah bunga betina. Penelitian untuk mendapatkan dosis kotoran kambing dan konsentrasi ZPT paclobutrazol yang tepat dilaksanakan di lahan percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jember, menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) faktorial terdiri dari 2 faktor. Faktor pertama yaitu dosis pupuk kotoran kambing terdiri dari: 0, 10, 20 dan 30 ton/ha. Faktor kedua konsentrasi paclobutrazol terdiri dari : 0; 0,250 ; 0,375 dan 0,500 ml/l, dengan 3 ulangan. Parameter pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman di analisis dengan analisis varian dan uji t dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95 %, apabila berbeda nyata di uji dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan dengan α,5 %. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa dosis pupuk kotoran kambing 10 - 30 ton/ha meningkatkan tinggi tanaman, luas daun, berat segar dan berat kering total tanaman. Pemberian Paclobutrazol 0,250 - 0,500 ml/liter menurunkan tinggi tanaman, luas daun, berat segar dan berat kering total tanaman serta jumlah bunga jantan. Konsentrasi paclobutrazol 0,375 ml/l berpengaruh terbaik pada jumlah bunga betina dan jumlah buah. Terdapat interaksi perlakuan dosis kotoran kambing dan konsentrasi ZPT Paclobutrazol terhadap bobot buah pertanaman dan potensi produksi dengan perlakuan terbaik : dosis kotoran kambing 20 hingga 30 ton/ha dan Paclobutrazol 0,375 ml/l yang menghasilkan bobot buah pertanaman sebesar : 4200,13 -4338,63 g dan potensi produksi mentimun sebesar : 138,61-143,14 ton/ha.

Abstract

Pulosari is one of the villages that is the place for the implementation of the Community Service Program Back to Village 2020 Universitas Jember. The main target of the Community service program is Gibrellyn L. Stea who is a member of the InsyaAllah Tani organization. This organization is engaged in semi-organic vegetable cultivation. The problem faced by target in the business being carried out is the lack of management applied, which causes profit opportunities to decrease and even loss. This problem became the basis for select topic in this community service program, application of agribusiness management in semi-organic vegetable farming in Pulosari Village. The purpose of this program is that business actors can apply agribusiness management properly so that no profit opportunities are wasted and can improve business management methods to make them better and more organized. This program had been taken on 1st of July until 14th of August 2020. The method used to achieve the objectives in this program is structured in several programs including the socialization of the application of agribusiness management and the direct application of management to semi-organic vegetable farming. The result of this community service is that the target is to better understand the importance of management and know how to better manage the business, thus the opportunity for benefits to be obtained in the future will be greater.

Abstract

Kacang tanah (Arachis hypogaea L.) merupakan tanaman polong-polongan atau tanaman polong-polongan terpenting kedua setelah kedelai di Indonesia. Menjadi salah satu komoditas tanaman pangan di Indonesia, Kacang Tanah memiliki nilai ekonomi yang tinggi sehingga berpotensi untuk dikembangkan dalam upaya meningkatkan pendapatan dan perbaikan gizi masyarakat. Pemanfaatan lahan marginal dapat dilakukan dengan pemberian pupuk organik dan penerapan sistem tanam, sehingga lahan pada lahan marginal dapat dimanfaatkan untuk budidaya pertanian. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui interaksi sistem tanam Jajar Legowo dan dosis pupuk organik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kacang tanah di lahan marginal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat interaksi antara sistem tanam Jajar Legowo dengan dosis pupuk organik pada seluruh variabel yang diamati, namun perlakuan sistem tanam Jajar Legowo memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap luas daun, laju pertumbuhan, berat kering dan berat 100 biji. Sedangkan perlakuan dosis pupuk organik berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, bobot basah, bobot kering dan jumlah polong. Perlakuan terbaik diperoleh dengan sistem tanam jajar legowo 4:1 dan dosis pupuk organik 120 kg/petak.

Abstract

Tanaman mentimun (Cucumis sativus L.) memiliki manfaat sebagai sumber buah yang dapat dikonsumsi segar dan mengandung nutrisi penting bagi tubuh. Namun, tantangan dalam budidaya mentimun adalah rendahnya persentase bunga betina yang berkembang menjadi buah sempurna. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan jumlah bunga betina dan produktivitas adalah dengan pemangkasan tunas dan pemberian GA3. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh interaksi antara pemangkasan pucuk dan aplikasi GA3 terhadap pertumbuhan dan produktivitas mentimun. Rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) faktorial digunakan dengan dua faktor, yaitu waktu pemangkasan pucuk (tanpa pemangkasan, pemangkasan pada 21 HST, dan 28 HST) dan konsentrasi GA3 (0, 50, 100, dan 150 ppm), masing-masing diulang tiga kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi GA3 100 ppm berpengaruh signifikan terhadap waktu munculnya bunga, jumlah buah per tanaman, panjang dan diameter buah, serta fruitset. Selain itu, pemberian GA3 100 ppm juga meningkatkan luas daun dan bobot buah per tanaman. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian hormon giberelin pada konsentrasi tertentu dapat meningkatkan hasil produktivitas tanaman mentimun secara signifikan.

Abstract

The relatively high price of inorganic fertilizers means that members of the Harapan Jaya Farmer Group are unable to optimally meet their fertilizer needs. On the other hand, farmers have not been able to process their agricultural waste properly which is generally only by burning. This method is not environmentally friendly because it can pollute the air, lose its nitrogen content and kill soil organisms that are useful for plants. In fact, there is no return of crop residues to the land. This condition can cause soil fertility to decrease and requiring more fertilizer inputs. This additional input has an impact on increasing the cost of farming. To solve above problems, this community service program had been undertaken in April to November 2024 through counseling, training and mentoring to farmers who are members of the farmer group as the partner in this program. The focus of this program was mainly on the management of gramine crop waste such as rice and corn which absorb very high silicon element. The results of this service showed that the training participants were very enthusiastic in attending the counselling and could absorb the presented materials. Almost all participants were able to overcome the techniques or methods in the process of making silicon fertilizer during the training. In addition, they were also very interested in trying the fermented and well-designed fertilizer based on the respondent’s assessment. However, applying fertilizer in the form of demo plots requires separate planning in the future because the process of making silicon fertilizer takes very long time.

Abstract

Bondowoso Arabica coffee is a type of coffee that grows on the slopes of Mount Ijen-Raung. It has a high commercial value and distinctive taste. Coffee processing applications from roasting, grinding, packaging and brewing to storage will affect the quality of coffee. Caffeine is one of the compounds in coffee that contributes to bitterness and has certain pharmacological effects. This study aimed to determine the caffeine content of Bondowoso Arabica coffee harvested on August 2021 which was obtained from Sukosari Lor village with various roast profiles and types of packaging. In this study, Arabica coffee was roasted with light roast, medium roast and dark roast profiles. Then each treatment was mashed to obtain ground coffee. Ground coffee was put in a standing pouch made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) with a thickness of 75 microns; polypropylene (PP) with a thickness of 100 microns; and polypropylene (PP) with a thickness of 120 microns and then stored for three months. During the storage of first and third months, caffeine levels were measured. Based on the results of the study, the caffeine content was increase along with higher roasting temperature. During the storage process, the caffeine content in ground coffee packaged using PP decreased the most.

Abstract

Orchids are ornamental plants that have a variety of beautiful flower colors. Optimization of clonal propagation through tissue culture techniques by adding appropriate growth regulators is important. This study aims to determine the optimal concentration of TDZ for the formation of somatic embryogenesis in Phalaenopsis sp. orchids which are studied through histological observationsand scanning electron microscopes. This study used a completely randomized design using the TDZ hormone with several concentrations (1 mg/L, 3 mg/L, 5 mg/L and 7 mg/L) which were added to MS media. The explants used were Phalaenopsis sp. leaves. Based on the results of the study, leaf explants successfully regenerated through direct somatic embryogenesis. The 5 mg/LTDZ treatment showed the best results in inducing somatic embryogenesis of Phalaenopsis sp. with the highest embryo percentage parameters of 32%, the fastest embryo maturity of 37 HST with dark green embryo characters and crumbly texture.
