Abstract

Kesehatan mata sangat penting bagi setiap individu dengan demikian, perlu pemeliharaan kesehatan tersebut. Pemeliharaan kesehatan ini salah satunya dipengaruhi oleh tingkat literasi kesehatan mata. Namun, tingkat literasi tentang kesehatan mata pada masyarakat masih cukup rendah sehingga mempengaruhi tingkat kesehatan mata. Individu yang memiliki tingkat literasi yang tinggi akan memiliki status kesehatan yang baik hal ini karena mereka sadar pentingnya untuk pemeliharaan kesehatan salah satu mencari akses fasilitas kesehatan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu melihat peran literasi kesehatan mata, melihat tingkat literasi, dan faktor lain yang mempengaruhi pengambilan keputuasan untuk mengakses perawatan kesehatan mata di Kota Tangerang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kota Tangerang, secara kualitatif dengan teknik wawancara mendalam, jumlah informan sebanyak 5 orang dengan 2 orang sebagai informan kunci, yaitu dari perwakilan Rukun Warga dan Ketua Karang Taruna. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2024 – Januari 2025. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa literasi kesehatan mata sangat berperan dalam mengakses pelayanan kesehatan, tingkat literasi pada masyarakat masih kurang, faktor lain yang mempengaruhi pengambilan keputusan yaitu biaya, peran keluarga, dan kegiatan penyuluhan oleh tenaga kesehatan. Abstract

Kelainan refraksi dikenal dalam bentuk miopia, hipermetropia dan astigmatisme. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk melihat faktor yang mempengaruhi terjadi status refraksi pada anak sekolah dasar. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SDI Assadah, Bidara Cina, Jakarta Timur. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, dengan teknik wawancara mendalam, informan terdiri atas 3 orang dari orang tua atau wali murid, ada 2 informan kunci, yaitu petugas dasawisma dan guru. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei 2025 – Juni 2025. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa secara keseluruhan status refraksi pada anak sekolah dasar dengan myopia, diikuti myopia astigmat compositus tinggi. Kesimpulan dari penelitian yaitu kelainan refraksi pada anak sekolah dasar di SDI Assadah Bidara Cina, disebabkan karena faktor penggunaan gadge, sosial ekonomi orang tua, pola makan, dan pola asuh.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of complications of soft contact lens wear on visual health. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with semi-structured interviews conducted by telephone with three informants who were purposively selected because they had experience wearing contact lenses regularly. Data were analyzed through the preparation of interview guidelines, recording, transcription, interpretation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that complications of contact lens wear affect vision in the form of decreased visual acuity, red eyes, and blurred vision.

Abstract

The development of modern fashion has transformed eyeglasses from a visual aid into a lifestyle accessory and a form of self-identity, particularly among university students. This study aims to explore students’ preferences for eyeglass frame models in the modern fashion era and to identify the factors influencing these preferences. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 12 university students who use eyeglasses, selected using purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify key patterns and themes related to frame selection preferences. The findings revealed that eyeglasses are perceived not only as a visual aid but also as a fashion statement and identity expression. Five major themes emerged: (1) eyeglasses as a lifestyle and identity, (2) preference for trendy frame designs such as oversized and minimalist styles, (3) dominance of neutral colors due to their flexibility, (4) the importance of comfort in prolonged use, and (5) the significant influence of social media in shaping preferences. Among these factors, fashion trends and social media were found to be the most influential in determining students’ choices. In conclusion, students’ preferences for eyeglass frame models are influenced by a combination of aesthetic, functional, and social factors. Therefore, optical practitioners should consider not only visual and ergonomic aspects but also fashion trends and user preferences when recommending eyeglass frames.

Abstract

Myopia is one of the most common refractive errors and a major cause of correctable visual impairment worldwide. This study aimed to describe the characteristics of patients with myopia who underwent refractive examinations at Maestro Optical Center in January 2026. This quantitative descriptive observational study employed a total sampling technique involving 30 patients diagnosed with myopia. Data were collected through direct observation, structured questionnaires, and documentation of refractive examination records. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and presented as frequencies and percentages. The results showed that all respondents were aged >12 years (100%). Most respondents were female (26; 86.7%), while 4 (13.3%) were male. The majority reported no family history of myopia (63%). Mild myopia was the most frequently observed refractive category, affecting 19 respondents (63%). Prolonged digital device use was reported by 12 respondents (40%), while spectacles were the most commonly used method of optical correction (21; 70%). These findings indicate that patients with myopia at Maestro Optical Center were predominantly aged >12 years, female, had no reported family history of myopia, presented with mild myopia, and primarily used spectacles. The findings provide baseline information that may support targeted eye health education and improvements in refractive optometry services

Abstract

Mental health problems among university students are increasing, while stigma and limited access to professional services often delay help-seeking. Artificial intelligence (AI)-based screening tools may provide an accessible approach for early mental health detection. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy and reliability of Gemini AI for mental health screening within Indonesia’s SATU SEHAT framework. A pilot cross-sectional diagnostic accuracy study was conducted among 63 undergraduate students. Participants completed mental health screening using both Gemini AI and the SATU SEHAT platform. Diagnostic performance was assessed using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV), overall accuracy, and Cohen’s Kappa coefficient. Gemini AI demonstrated excellent discriminative ability with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.957 (95% CI: 0.89–1.00). Sensitivity was 86.36%, specificity 97.56%, PPV 95.00%, NPV 93.02%, and overall accuracy 93.65%. Agreement with the SATU SEHAT reference standard was almost perfect (Cohen’s Kappa = 0.857, p < 0.001). Gemini AI showed high diagnostic accuracy and reliability for early mental health screening. These findings suggest that AI-assisted screening may complement existing digital mental health services by supporting early identification of individuals at risk and providing a foundation for larger validation studies.
