Abstract

Gorontalo city is the capital of Gorontalo province which has a high incidence of stunting. This high incidence rate needs to get attention because stunting can further become one of the indicators of the low quality of human resources in Gorontalo. One method that can be used to analyze the factors that cause stunting is the spatial regression method, namely Spatial Error Model (SEM). SEM model can analyze used R and GeoDa software. The purpose of this study is to find out the factors that affect stunting in Gorontalo City and compare the results of the Spatial Error Model analysis based on the results of R and GeoDa software. The results showed that there are two variables that have a significant effect on stunting incidence, namely the variable number of Complete Basic Immunization (IDL) and the amount of proper sanitation. The R and GeoDa software comparison results showed there were several similar outputs i.e. LM test output, parameter estimation and R-square value, while the different outputs were Moran's I test output, Breusch-Pagan test, and AIC value. Although Moran's I test output and Breusch-Pagan’s test are different, but they produce the same conclusion. The AIC value produced by GeoDa is smaller than R software.

Abstract

The payment system in Indonesia is transforming from making payments in cash to non-cash. Non-cash payments can be made with various payment applications, one of which is the OVO application. Non-cash payments are less loved by many people, this is due to concerns about the security or ease and effectiveness of non-cash payment applications. Therefore, this study was conducted to analyze the factors that influence student interest in Gorontalo province in transacting using the OVO application using the Structural Equation Model Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The data analysis technique used is variance-based SEM. The results showed that the perceived convenience, effectiveness and security variables affected the interest in transacting using the OVO application with an R-square value of 70.70 percent.

Abstract

The challenge of accessing capital for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), compounded by low financial literacy, has led to limited awareness among MSME actors regarding sharia-based Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Lending. This study investigates the response of MSME actors on Sulawesi Island, Indonesia, to the adoption of fintech-based sharia P2P lending services using the AISAS (Attention, Interest, Search, Action, and Share) model. Distinct from previous research, this study specifically focuses on the utilization of sharia-based P2P fintech by MSMEs in Sulawesi, applying the AISAS model approach. A quantitative approach was employed, gathering data from 580 MSME respondents in Sulawesi, and analyzed using Smart-PLS 3.2.9 software. The results indicate that interest, search, and sharing behavior are significant predictors of sharia-compliant P2P lending adoption, while attention and action demonstrate no significant influence. This study offers valuable insights for sharia fintech P2P lending service providers and government bodies supporting MSMEs, particularly in Sulawesi, stressing the importance of enhancing outreach to promote sharia fintech P2P lending as a more accessible and efficient capital source.========================================================================================================ABSTRAK – Pendorong Adopsi P2P Lending Syariah di Indonesia: Pendekatan Model AISAS.

Abstract

Research on complications of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is multifactorial, where the risk factors causing DM complications are interrelated, leading to confounding bias, which results in inaccurate research findings. Confounding bias can be reduced using the propensity score method. This study aims to compare the performance of the Propensity Score Stratification (PSS) and Propensity Score Matching (PSM) methods with the Multivariate Adaptive Regression Spline (MARS) approach in estimating treatment effects on DM complication cases. The data used is the medical records of type-2 DM patients at Hospital X. The results showed that the PSS method with the MARS approach is not suitable for small data sets, as it can lead to treatment or control groups lacking members, making it impossible to calculate the p-value in balance testing or the Percent Bias Reduction (PBR). The estimated Average Treatment Effect (ATE) using the PSS method was 0.487 with a PBR of 35.1%, whereas the estimated Average Treatment for Treated (ATT) using the PSM method was 0.531 with a PBR of 99.46%. These PBR values indicate that the best method for estimating treatment effects and the one that can reduce the most bias in this case is the PSM method with MARS. The analysis also showed that serum uric acid levels significantly affect the peripheral diabetic neuropathy (PDN) status of DM patients.

Abstract

Purpose – This study analyzes the expected returns and risks associated with these stocks and identifies the optimal portfolio composition.Methodology – This study utilized operational data analysis and the Markowitz model to assess 30 stocks listed on the JII from 2017 to 2020. Through purposive sampling, 13 companies that met the specific sample criteria were selected for analysis.Findings – The analysis successfully identified an optimal portfolio composed of six stocks: ANTM (Aneka Tambang Tbk), ICBP (Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur), INCO (Vale Indonesia Tbk), KLBF (Kalbe Farma Tbk), PTBA (Bukit Asam Tbk), and UNTR (United Tractors Tbk). This portfolio demonstrates an expected rate of return ranging from 0.28% to 1.88%. Notably, the portfolio's overall risk value was calculated to be only 0.19%, which is significantly lower than the individual risk associated with any single stock within the portfolio.Implication – This study provides valuable insights for investors looking to build a balanced and Shariah-compliant investment portfolio, improving their understanding of expected returns and associated risks in Islamic financial markets.Originality – The abstract does not explicitly state the originality section. However, the unique combination of focusing on JII-listed Sharia stocks and applying the Markowitz model to identify an optimal portfolio can be inferred as the original contribution of this study. The context of Islamic financial markets distinguishes it from that of a general investment study.
