Abstract

Kamulyan waste bank is a place to collect the waste from the household around Lowanu Village, Brontokusuman, Mergangsan, Yogyakarta. This waste is distributed to garbage collectors and sorted. Plastic waste that cannot be recycled is used as material for making ecobricks. Ecobricks are materials made from used plastic bottles filled with plastic sachets, plastic bags, and similar materials that are compressed. In making ecobricks, workers perform activities in a sitting position on the floor with both legs folded in and a slightly bent posture. This work attitude causes muscle complaints in the upper and lower neck, upper arm, right elbow, left wrist, and left hand. The purpose of the study was to improve work attitudes to reduce muscle complaints in body parts by designing ergonomic work facilities. This research was conducted with ergonomics intervention on the design of ecobrick plastic compaction work facilities with the Nordic Body Map-VAS Modified Questionnaire. Abstract

In Indonesia, the significant role of perishable products in food wastage has placed the country fourth globally in household food waste. Managing inventory for such products, with their short shelf life and stringent safety standards, emphasizes the need for efficient lot sizing planning. This study introduces a novel Dynamic Lot-Sizing (DLS) model, addressing perishable products and inventory constraints across multiple products, periods, and varying demands. The model aims to optimize production quantity and binary production, minimizing overall system costs. Employing a Genetic Algorithm (GA), this research solves the DLS model under constrained and unconstrained inventory capacities. Real-case data from a bread manufacturing company validates the model, while sensitivity analysis examines perishability's impact on the solution and model performance. The DLS-GA model not only reduces system costs but also effectively considers product perishability, offering optimal production plans.

Abstract

Battery waste needs to be managed immediately and thus electric vehicles (EVs) become more popular as a sustainable replacement for internal combustion engine vehicles. This review discusses waste battery recycling industry practices and emphasizes the need for authorized battery management services for electric motorcycles. This gap allows third-party businesses not affiliated with the primary manufacturer to emerge and potentially grow sustainably. The literature review methodology involves an in-depth search of relevant literature using the Scopus database with strategically selected keywords. The VoS Viewer collects, organizes, and graphically maps references to synthesize them orderly. The search initially yielded 138 relevant articles. This number was then narrowed to 66 articles published in English journals. Thirty-nine articles were found when the search was modified to focus on full-text availability. These findings indicate an important need for more targeted research to design effective management frameworks for recycling waste batteries in electric motorbike workshops. All critical components increased waste management awareness and expertise among workshop managers, government policies, funding support, and a well-coordinated supply chain. This assessment identifies barriers to developing a viable battery waste recycling sector and makes recommendations for future policy and research initiatives.
