Abstract

Beauty products that are illegal without a distribution license from the Food and Drug Administration may contain ingredients that are very harmful to the skin. Cosmetics according to the Minister of Health Regulation are materials used on the outside of the human body. One of the legal events regarding illegal beauty products without BPOM supervision as stipulated in the Tanjung Karang Class IA District Court Decision Number 418/Pid.Sus/2023/PN.Tjk. The problems in this study are what are the causal factors and reasons for the perpetrators to commit the crime of distribution of illegal beauty products without the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency and how the criminal liability of the perpetrators of the crime of distribution of illegal beauty products without the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (Based on Decision Number 418/Pid.Sus/2023/PN Tjk). The research method used in this research is through normative juridical and empirical juridical approaches using secondary and primary data. Data collection is done by literature study and field study. The results of this thesis research can be concluded that the factors that cause the perpetrators to commit the crime of distributing illegal beauty products without the Food and Drug Administration are basically 2 factors. Namely the profit factor and the opportunity factor so that these circumstances force the defendant to commit the criminal act of distributing illegal beauty products. Then criminal liability for the perpetrator of distribution of illegal beauty products without the Food and Drug Administration (Based on decision number 418/Pid.Sus/2023/PN.Tjk), namely the defendant was secured by members of the BBPOM Bandar Lampung PPNS and then sentenced to imprisonment for 2 (Two) months minus the period of arrest and / or detention that has been served, and a fine of Rp. 10,000,000,00, - (ten million rupiah) subsidized by 1 (One) month of confinement as stated in decision number 418/Pid.Sus/2023 / PN.Tjk. Suggestions addressed by the author to law enforcement officials are expected to be able to improve their performance to overcome cases of illegal sales of beauty products containing hazardous ingredients quickly, and consider the use of legal instruments in the form of laws in accordance with the conditions of the case being handled and be more consistent and firm in applying legal provisions regarding cosmetics that do not have a distribution permit so that the application of sanctions is not different and not too light so that it can provide a deterrent effect to cosmetic business actors who do not have a distribution permit. Then the government should coordinate and cooperate with each other in eradicating the circulation of cosmetics without a distribution permit by applying the principles of coordination, integration and synchronization, especially the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency. In addition, it is expected that the public, especially women, should be more careful in choosing cosmetic products. Before buying a product, it would be nice to check the brand, expiration date, content, indications, and have been registered with BPOM.

Abstract

Mining in Indonesia is a promising sector, including the management of rare earths, which are mining residues with high selling value. In Bangka Belitung, rare earths mainly come from tin mining residues. Although Government Regulation No. 96 of 2021 has recognized rare earths as one of the five categories of mineral and coal mining that must be managed with a Mining Business License (IUP), specific regulations regarding rare earths have not been discussed in detail. As a result of these regulatory limitations, many entrepreneurs take advantage of legal loopholes to sell rare earths illegally, both inter-city and export. This research aims to examine the specific regulations governing rare earths and uncover the reasons why illegal sellers are reluctant to officially register their companies, particularly in Bangka Belitung. This research uses an empirical juridical method that focuses on applicable laws and regulations to uncover problems in the field, by adhering to normative provisions related to illegal rare earth sales in the Bangka Belitung Islands. Researchers found that several regulations related to rare earths include Law Number 3 of 2020 concerning Mineral and Coal Mining (Minerba Law), Government Regulation Number 23 of 2010 concerning the Implementation of Mineral and Coal Mining Business Activities, Government Regulation No. 96 of 2021, and MEMR Regulation No. 25 of 2018 which has been updated to Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Decree Number 301. K/MB.01/MEM.B/2022, which regulates the National Plan for Mineral and Coal Mining for 2022-2027

Abstract

Garbage is identified as objects or materials that are no longer deemed necessary, useful, or wanted, and are often disposed of by individuals or communities. Various sources and categories of garbage and waste exist, which, without proper management, could contaminate soil, water, and air. Implementing educational programs on waste management is crucial to boost community awareness and involvement in mitigating the detrimental effects on environmental and public health. Particularly, enhancing parental awareness of waste is essential for cultivating environmental stewardship in young children. This community service initiative aims to educate parents, especially those of students at TK Cahya Mentari in Semarang District, on the processing and sorting of primarily plastic waste to improve their eco-literacy. The program includes a series of educational and technical guidance sessions that introduce fundamental waste management principles, effective sorting techniques, and the adoption of eco-friendly practices in daily life. This intervention is intended to enable parents to incorporate these practices into domestic routines and to instil environmental consciousness in their children. This program resulted in a significant increase in knowledge, with parents’ understanding improving from 53% to 91.33%. The results from this initiative indicate that the educational efforts have successfully enhanced parental understanding of waste management, thereby contributing to the development of environmental awareness among children at TK Cahya Mentari.

Abstract

Soil insects play a crucial role in maintaining ecosystem balance and supporting soil fertility, particularly within coffee plantation ecosystems. This study aims to analyze the diversity of soil insects by comparing results from artificial intelligence (AI)-based predictions and field explorations to obtain a comprehensive understanding of community structure. The research was conducted in a smallholder coffee plantation located in Wiyono Village, Pesawaran Regency, Lampung. Field data were collected using the pitfall trap method, while AI-based predictions were generated utilizing a dataset derived from 14 relevant scientific publications. Data analysis employed the Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H′) to evaluate differences between predicted and observed results. The findings revealed that the AI-based prediction estimated an H′ value of 1.787 (moderate diversity), whereas the field exploration yielded an H′ value of 0.428 (low diversity). This discrepancy is influenced by dataset limitations, species dominance, and selectivity inherent in the sampling method. The results highlight the importance of integrating AI-based predictive approaches with field validation to enhance the accuracy of biodiversity assessments. This study contributes to the development of AI-driven prediction models and supports sustainable management of coffee plantation ecosystems.
