Abstract

Background : Stress is a natural response of the body and mind to pressure or change that requires adjustment. Continuous stress and depression can have a negative impact on the mind and can also weaken the immune system. The most common stress experienced by students in school is academic stress. Academic stress has a negative impact on physical health. One of the academic stressors is stress related to adolescent learning activities at school. Brain Gym is a program designed to improve several aspects of an individual's cognitive and psychological well-being. Brain gym is done through a series of simple movement exercises that test the two sides of the brain, namely the left brain and the right brain. Doing brain gym is one way to relieve stress. Objective : To determine the effect of brain gym on stress levels in students during learning at school. Method : This study used a quasi-experimental research design with the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design approach, this study did not involve a control group. The sampling of this study used a nonprobability sampling technique, namely purposive sampling with a total of 26 respondents. Results : the results of the univariate test obtained an average value of stress levels before being given brain gym was 25.38 and the bivariate test using the T-test obtained a P value of .000. Conclusion : There is an effect of brain gym on reducing stress levels in students of Al-Hasyimiyyah Islamic Middle School.

Abstract

Background: It is estimated that more than 200 million children under the age of five worldwide do not reach optimal cognitive development, with the majority living in Asia. Cognitive development in preschool-aged children is a process through which children develop the ability to think, remember, and understand their surroundings. This development is influenced by various factors, one of which is the environment—particularly parenting style. Parents play a crucial role in supporting the cognitive, physical, language, social, emotional, religious, moral,and artistic development of their children. Objective: To determine the relationship between parenting style and cognitive development of preschool-aged children at Mathla’ul Anwar Buaranjati Kindergarten. Methods: This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 85 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. The instrument used was an ordinal-scalequestionnaire.Results: The Chi-Square test showed a p-value of 0.044 (< 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between parenting style and cognitive development in preschool-aged children at Mathla’ul Anwar BuaranjatiKindergarten.Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between parenting style and the cognitive development of preschool-aged children at Mathla’ul Anwar Buaranjati Kindergarten

Abstract

Long-term exposure to ambient fine particulate pollution (PM2.5) has been associated with cardiovascular diseases. Hypertension, a major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases, has also been hypothesized to be linked to PM2.5. Annual average PM2.5 concentrations were estimated for each community using satellite data. We applied two-level logistic regression models to examine the associations, and estimated hypertension burden attributable to ambient PM2.5.

Abstract

Background: Adolescence is the transition from childhood to adulthood, causing psychosocial changes, one of which is anxiety. Anxiety is a feeling of fear that something will happen due to anticipation of impending danger, thus helping people prepare to face threats. To overcome anxiety, self-affirmation can be used as a non-pharmacological measure to reduce anxiety in a person. Objective: The purpose of this study To determine the effect of self-affirmation on adolescent anxiety in facing college entrance selection at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Lebak. Method: The method used in this study was quantitative with a quasi-experimental design. The sampling method in this study was purposive sampling. The sample used in this study was 30 respondents. The instruments used in this study were the HARS questionnaire and the Self-Affirmation Standard Operating Procedure. Results: The results of the Simple Paired T-Test obtained a P-Value of 0.000 <the significant value (α = 0.05). Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that self-affirmation has an effect on adolescent anxiety.

Abstract

Background: Mental disorders are health problems that affect not only the patient, but also the family as a caregiver in long-term care. Caregivers have an important role in ensuring therapy adherence and supporting the patient's recovery. The behavior of caregivers in caring for people with mental disorders can be influenced by psychoeducation and family support. Purpose: To examine the role of psychoeducation in shaping caregiver behavior in the families of people with mental disorders. Method: This study uses a conceptual descriptive approach by reviewing various scientific literature from international and national journals relevant to psychoeducation, caregiver, and treatment of mental disorders. Results: The results of the study show that psychoeducation plays a role in increasing caregiver knowledge, forming a more adaptive perception, and influencing caregivers' attitudes in caring for patients. These changes have an impact on the formation of more effective care behaviors. Family support also plays a role as a reinforcing factor in improving caregiver behavior. Conclusion: Psychoeducation has an important role in shaping caregiver behavior through improving knowledge, perception, and attitudes. Family support strengthens the effectiveness of psychoeducation in the treatment of people with mental disorders.
