Abstract

In facing the challenges of the globalization era, the quality of education is highly dependent on teacher professionalism and effective leadership in schools. Although theories on collaborative and participatory leadership have been widely developed, their implementation at the junior high school level in Indonesia is still limited and suboptimal. Therefore, this study aims to explore the influence of collaborative and participatory leadership on improving teacher professionalism at MTs Alzain Pandaan, Pasuruan, through a qualitative case study approach over a three-month period. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with a case study design. The study population included all teachers and the principal, selected through purposive sampling of ten subjects: the principal, vice principal, and eight teachers from various subjects. Data were collected using participant observation techniques, semi-structured interviews, and relevant document reviews. The research instrument was developed based on transformational leadership theory and data quality standards, and its validity and reliability were tested. Data analysis was conducted thematically through transcription, coding, and interpretation of emerging patterns. The results showed that collaborative leadership can improve open communication, active collaboration, and teacher empowerment, which significantly enhances their professionalism. These findings strengthen the argument that an inclusive leadership style can create an innovative, harmonious, and high-quality work environment. This research contributes to the literature on educational leadership and recommends longitudinal studies and the development of practical models that can be applied more broadly at the national level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze effective leadership strategies and practices in utilizing social media in a responsive, empathetic, and transparent manner during a crisis. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research involved in-depth interviews with 30 informants, direct observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed thematically with reference to theories of transformational leadership, digital communication, and crisis management. The results indicate that principals who actively manage social media communications, such as using quick-response features and delivering honest, empathetic messages, successfully build stakeholder trust and control the narrative amid uncertainty. This responsive and collaborative communication model strengthens social relationships and accelerates the adaptation of school community members. These findings align with the theory that effective crisis communication requires a leader's digital competence and interpersonal skills. This research contributes to the development of digital leadership and crisis management theory in education. It provides practical guidance in developing effective communication policies and training for schools in emergencies.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the key social and technological factors influencing the adoption of digital library services among young users and to formulate innovative strategies that enhance library attractiveness in the digital era. A quantitative approach was employed, using multiple linear regression analysis of survey data collected from 210 respondents across several urban public and academic libraries, complemented by 20 semi-structured interviews with active users and library managers. Data were processed with SPSS to examine the effects of perceived usefulness, ease of use, social norms, and environmental support on digital service adoption. The findings indicate that perceived benefits (β=0.42, p<0.01) and ease of use (β=0.35, p<0.01) significantly influence user interest in adopting digital services, while social norms and environmental support (β=0.25, p<0.05) also play important reinforcing roles. Conversely, factors such as self-confidence and perceived risks show weaker effects, suggesting the need for further psychological exploration. Interview data highlight that interactive features, active promotion, and user-friendly interfaces are crucial in shaping positive experiences and increasing adoption. The study strengthens the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with psychosocial perspectives and provides practical strategies for adaptive, user-oriented, and culturally relevant library services. Future initiatives should expand research into rural libraries and integrate cultural variables to ensure inclusive and sustainable digital transformation strategies.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of spirituality-based human resource (HR) management in enhancing the quality of education in Islamic educational institutions, with a case study at MA Miftahul Ulum Probolinggo, East Java. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis from 15 informants, including the principal, teachers, and staff. Data were analysed using thematic content analysis following Miles and Huberman's model, meanwhile, for data validity through source triangulation and member checking. The findings reveal that integrating Islamic spiritual values such as sincerity (ikhlāṣ), honesty (ṣidq), and trustworthiness (amānah) into recruitment, training, and performance appraisal fosters a harmonious work culture, increases teacher motivation, and strengthens student discipline and moral character. This value-driven HR management approach is institutionalised through formal policies and daily routines, such as collective prayers and Qur'an study sessions, which enhance both professional commitment and organisational cohesion. The study contributes to the literature by offering a contextual model of Islamic HR management that operationalises spiritual values in managerial practices to achieve holistic educational outcomes. The findings are presented in line with the research objectives. First, regarding the role of management, the principal acted as a value-based leader and role model, embedding Islamic spiritual principles such as sincerity (ikhlāṣ), honesty (ṣidq), and trustworthiness (amānah) into recruitment, training, and performance appraisal. Second, concerning the application of management principles, formal policies and daily routines accommodate values, such as communal prayer, Quran study sessions, and ethics-oriented performance evaluations, which foster a harmonious work culture, increase teacher motivation, and enhance students' discipline and moral character. While limited to a single institution, this research provides a contextual model for integrating spirituality into HR management practices to improve educational quality in faith-based schools.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Pra-PTPT Qiroati Program as a model of Qur’anic education management that seeks to balance memorization targets with children’s learning readiness and emotional development. The research responds to ongoing challenges faced by non-formal Qur’anic education institutions in maintaining structured learning discipline while adapting to the developmental needs of young learners. A qualitative case study approach was employed to explore institutional policy, instructional practices, and parental involvement within the program. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, participatory engagement in learning activities, and examination of institutional learning records, and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The findings indicate that program effectiveness is shaped not only by the structured Qiroati method but also by teachers’ ability to adjust instructional strategies according to students’ engagement and learning conditions. The extended learning duration contributed to the formation of the study discipline; however, its sustainability depended on adaptive teaching practices that supported students’ emotional well-being. Parental involvement further reinforced learning continuity beyond instructional sessions, strengthening students’ motivation and consistency in memorization practice. The study highlights that flexible and collaborative management practices enable Qur’anic learning to remain structured while responsive to learners’ developmental needs. findings imply discussions in Islamic education management by emphasizing the integration of institutional regulation, adaptive pedagogy, and social support as interconnected elements that sustain effective Qur’anic education practice.
