Abstract

Islamic educational institutions face the ongoing challenge of balancing traditional values with modern educational management strategies to enhance both academic performance and character development. This study aims to explore how Madrasah Aliyah Hidayaturrahman integrates these elements to address this dual objective. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that a student-centered and collaborative management approach, coupled with structured teacher training programs, fosters creativity, inclusivity, and academic excellence. The study highlights that integrating traditional Islamic values with contemporary methodologies not only improves learning outcomes but also strengthens the institution’s ability to adapt to modern educational demands. This research contributes to the broader discourse on Islamic education by providing a practical model for other institutions to harmonize tradition and modernity effectively.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of learning innovations in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in East Java and their impact on the quality of Islamic education and student skills. Utilizing a qualitative approach, the research involved interviews, observations, and documentation from four pesantren, gathering insights from 20 informants, including foundation leaders, curriculum representatives, teachers, and students. The findings revealed diverse opinions on the need for innovation, highlighting strong support from leadership while underscoring challenges faced by teachers, particularly related to training and resource availability. The participation of students in the learning process emerged as a crucial element, emphasizing their interest in more interactive methods but also their desire for improved teaching quality. Supporting factors, such as parental involvement, were identified as beneficial, while hindering factors included insufficient ongoing teacher training and a lack of modern technological resources. Additionally, the study showed varied academic results among students, with approximately 70% of those involved in innovative learning achieving above-average scores, contrasting with 50% from traditional methods. The research concludes that a collaborative approach involving all stakeholders—teachers, students, parents, and pesantren administrators—is essential for the sustained development of educational innovations and improving academic outcomes. By addressing the identified challenges and leveraging the supporting factors, pesantren can create a more effective and innovative learning environment that meets the evolving needs of students. Abstract

This research aims to identify and analyze the principal's strategy for fostering teacher professionalism at Zainul Jadid Middle School, Masalembu District, Sumenep Regency, Madura. Education is considered an important foundation for a country's development, with the main aim of educating and empowering individuals to contribute positively to society. The principal plays a key role in improving teacher professionalism through various strategies such as giving direction, correcting behavior, praising, accepting recommendations, maintaining identity, welcoming new members, and building group discipline. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data collection techniques involving interviews and direct observation in the field. The research results show that school principals are active in involving teachers in training, workshops, and regular meetings to improve their competence and professionalism. The principal also emphasized the importance of structured supervision and guidance to ensure the effectiveness of the learning process. These findings highlight the important role of principals in creating a positive educational environment and supporting teacher professional development.

Abstract

Psychology originates in English known as psychology which is rooted in two Greek words, namely psyche which means soul and logos which means science. So literally psychology means the science of the soul. Etymologically, the notion of management is the art of organizing and executing. Management can also be defined as the process of managing or managing something. So in general, management is the process of organizing or managing something done by an individual or a group of people. Management has a relationship with psychology because it is known that the element of HR (human resources) is the most important element of the three working capital of any company. This is because psychology, which is human-centered, is capable of intervening in various internal human factors such as motivation, work attitudes, skills, etc. The method used in this study is a qualitative research, according to the study in this study, the type of research is library research. In this case the researcher will identify discourse from books, papers or articles, magazines, journals, the web (internet), or other information related to the writing title.

Abstract

AbstractDespite the increasing adoption of technology in education, Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) remain underexplored in terms of sustainable digital integration aligned with Islamic values. This study offers a comprehensive exploration of technology-based learning innovations within pesantren, examining how these innovations enhance pedagogical effectiveness while integrating principles of Islamic education management. Conducted as an in-depth qualitative case study across three pesantren in East Java, data were gathered through interviews, classroom observations, and documentation analysis. The study identified three core innovations: the use of digital learning media, the implementation of e-learning platforms, and the integration of mobile applications. These approaches have positively impacted student motivation, learning flexibility, and teacher-student engagement. However, challenges such as limited infrastructure and inadequate digital literacy among educators persist. Findings underscore the need for systematic teacher training, infrastructure investment, and culturally relevant digital leadership to ensure sustainable transformation. The study contributes to both academic discourse and practical policy development by offering context-specific recommendations for integrating technology in pesantren education without compromising core Islamic values.AbstrakMeskipun adopsi teknologi dalam pendidikan semakin meningkat, pondok pesantren masih relatif kurang dieksplorasi terkait integrasi digital yang berkelanjutan dan selaras dengan nilai-nilai Islam. Studi ini menawarkan eksplorasi komprehensif tentang inovasi pembelajaran berbasis teknologi di lingkungan pesantren, dengan menelaah bagaimana inovasi-inovasi tersebut meningkatkan efektivitas pedagogis sekaligus mengintegrasikan prinsip-prinsip manajemen pendidikan Islam. Penelitian ini dilakukan sebagai studi kasus kualitatif mendalam pada tiga pesantren di Jawa Timur, dengan data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi kelas, dan analisis dokumentasi. Studi ini mengidentifikasi tiga inovasi utama: penggunaan media pembelajaran digital, implementasi platform e-learning, dan integrasi aplikasi berbasis mobile. Pendekatan-pendekatan ini berdampak positif terhadap motivasi peserta didik, fleksibilitas belajar, serta interaksi guru dan siswa. Namun demikian, tantangan seperti keterbatasan infrastruktur dan literasi digital pendidik yang belum memadai masih menjadi hambatan. Temuan penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya pelatihan guru yang sistematis, investasi infrastruktur, dan kepemimpinan digital yang relevan secara kultural untuk memastikan transformasi yang berkelanjutan. Studi ini memberikan kontribusi pada wacana akademik maupun pengembangan kebijakan praktis melalui rekomendasi kontekstual terkait integrasi teknologi dalam pendidikan pesantren tanpa mengorbankan nilai-nilai Islam yang esensial.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in Indonesia are pivotal in shaping character and promoting religious moderation but face challenges such as radicalism, negative perceptions, and communication conflicts. These issues can lead to crises including social tension, degraded image, internal disintegration, and threats to sustainability. This study investigates the crisis management strategies of pesantren, focusing on factors enabling and hindering success. The research employs a qualitative approach, using an interpretive paradigm to conduct in-depth interviews with 25 informants from four pesantren in East Java, supported by direct observation and document analysis. Thematic analysis reveals that effective crisis management hinges on communication readiness, fostering tolerance and moderation, and strategic collaboration with external entities like security forces and community leaders. Pesantren that swiftly respond and cultivate positive narratives through strategic communication, underpinned by a strong internal culture, better mitigate radicalism's effects and enhance their moderate image. These insights underscore the necessity of a holistic crisis management strategy to ensure the stability and sustainability of pesantren in society.

Abstract

Community-based education management in Indonesia, especially in environments with strong cultures such as Madin Al-Hidayah Pasuruan, faces challenges in integrating traditional and modern leadership. The main problem is how to combine these two paradigms harmoniously to improve the effectiveness of management and sustainability of educational institutions. This study aims to analyze the process of integrating traditional and modern leadership in Madin Al-Hidayah and identify factors that influence its success. The approach used is qualitative with a case study, through primary data collection from in-depth interviews with 26 respondents including leaders, teachers, and community leaders, as well as secondary data from related documents and literature. Data were analyzed using thematic methods to identify patterns and relationships that support interpretation. The results of the study indicate that the success of integration depends on cultural sensitivity, leader capacity, and adaptive communication strategies. Strategies that successfully implement a gradual and participatory approach successfully strengthen the relationship between customary power and innovative principles of modern leadership. These findings suggest the need for capacity training, active community involvement, and the development of contextual and harmonious leadership models. This study contributes to the development of theory and practice of culture-based education management in Indonesia, while opening up opportunities for in-depth studies on leadership transformation in customary-based communities.

Abstract

Pesantren Rasyidiyah Khalidiyah in Amuntai plays a very significant role in the formation of Islamic traditions in South Kalimantan by integrating religious education and local culture. This study aims to analyze the impact of Islamic boarding schools on the development of Islamic traditions in the local community and their contribution to maintaining and developing Islamic values. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach supported by interview, observation, and documentation techniques, involving the active participation of Islamic boarding school administrators, students, and the community around the boarding school. The results of the study show that through various religious activities held, such as the celebration of the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday, Isra’ Wal Mi’raj, and the moon observation program (Hisab), this boarding school has not only succeeded in strengthening Islamic brotherhood among alumni and the community, but also increasing their spiritual awareness and concern for religious and social issues. The contribution of this study is an in-depth understanding of the role of Pesantren Rasyidiyah Khalidiyah in maintaining and developing relevant Islamic traditions, as well as providing valuable insights for the development of Islamic education and religious practices in various contexts.

Abstract

Abstract Marriage is a crucial institution that serves as a foundation in society and family. In the context of Loksado society, the concept of kafa'ah, or equality between prospective husband and wife, influences how people view choosing a life partner. However, there is often a shift in focus from religious equality to social and economic status, which can affect household harmony. This research aims to analyze the perception of Loksado society regarding kafa'ah and its impact on building a sakinah, mawaddah, warrahmah family. The research uses a qualitative method, with interviews and observations conducted in Kadipaten Village, Wiradesa Subdistrict, Pekalongan Regency. The results show that the Loksado community has a varied understanding of kafa'ah, with three main categories: equality in religion and economy, equality in customs and culture, and the practical application of equality principles without knowing the term kafa'ah. The impact of kafa'ah includes increased household harmony, strengthened social bonds, and the preservation of local customs. Abstrak Pernikahan adalah institusi penting yang menjadi fondasi dalam masyarakat dan keluarga. Dalam konteks masyarakat lumpangi kecamatan Loksado, konsep kafa'ah atau kesetaraan antara calon suami dan istri memengaruhi cara pandang masyarakat dalam memilih pasangan hidup. Namun, sering terjadi pergeseran fokus dari kesetaraan agama ke status sosial dan ekonomi, yang dapat mengganggu keharmonisan rumah tangga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis persepsi masyarakat lumpangi kecamatan Loksado terhadap kafa'ah dan dampaknya terhadap pembentukan keluarga sakinah, mawaddah, warrahmah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, dengan wawancara dan observasi di Desa Kadipaten, Kecamatan Wiradesa, Kabupaten Pekalongan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat lumpangi kecamatan Loksado memiliki pemahaman variatif tentang kafa'ah, dengan tiga kategori utama: kesetaraan dalam agama dan ekonomi, adat dan budaya, serta penerapan prinsip kesetaraan tanpa memahami istilah kafa'ah. Dampak penerapan kafa'ah mencakup peningkatan keharmonisan rumah tangga, penguatan ikatan sosial, dan pelestarian adat. Kata Kunci: Pernikahan, Kafa'ah, Kesetaraan, Masyarakat lumpangi kecamatan Loksado, Keluarga Sakinah Mawaddah Warrahmah, Adat dan Budaya, Keharmonisan Rumah Tangga.
