Abstract

Pendidikan karakter merupakan fondasi utama dalam pembentukan warga negara yang berkepribadian, berintegritas, dan memiliki kesadaran moral tinggi. Namun, dalam praktik pembelajaran di sekolah, penanaman nilai-nilai karakter kewarganegaraan sering kali masih bersifat teoritis dan kurang menyentuh aspek pengalaman belajar siswa secara langsung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis inovasi metode pembelajaran inquiry sebagai strategi efektif dalam penguatan nilai-nilai karakter kewarganegaraan pada siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui studi pustaka (library research). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran inquiry mampu menumbuhkan nilai-nilai karakter seperti tanggung jawab, kejujuran, rasa ingin tahu, kerja sama, dan kepedulian sosial melalui kegiatan penyelidikan aktif terhadap masalah-masalah sosial yang relevan dengan kehidupan nyata. Inovasi pembelajaran ini juga memperkuat kemampuan berpikir kritis, reflektif, serta meningkatkan partisipasi aktif siswa dalam proses pembelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (PPKn). Oleh karena itu, metode inquiry terbukti relevan sebagai pendekatan pedagogis yang mendorong transformasi nilai karakter kewarganegaraan secara kontekstual dan bermakna.

Abstract

Strengthening civic responsibility is one of the important objectives of civic education in higher education, particularly in shaping students as active, participatory, and responsible citizens in democratic life. This study aims to analyse strategies for strengthening students' civic responsibility through Civic Education learning in the Pancasila and Civic Education Study Programme, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Nusa Cendana University. The research uses a qualitative approach. The research informants consist of lecturers teaching Civic Education courses and students of the Civic Education Study Programme, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Nusa Cendana University, who were selected purposively. Research data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation of the learning process, and analysis of documentation in the form of Semester Learning Plans (RPS), teaching materials, and student academic activities. Data analysis techniques used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results of the study show that several key strategies in strengthening civic responsibility for students through Civic Education are project-based learning, integrated service learning, deliberative pedagogy (structured discussions, debates, and simulated public forums), strengthening the role of student organisations and practical leadership, as well as digital literacy and the use of media for civic participation (digital citizenship). Strengthening civic responsibility through PPKn must be integrative, contextual, and sustainable with adequate institutional support, facilities, and habits in campus and community life. This research contributes scientifically to the development of civic education studies in higher education by offering a conceptual model for strengthening student civic responsibility based on an integrative PPKn learning strategy that combines classroom learning, social experiences, and digital participation. The findings of this study also enrich the literature on relevant civic pedagogy practices to strengthen students' civic competencies in facing contemporary democratic challenges.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan media pembelajaran dalam mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (PPKn) di SMA Negeri 16 Samarinda, meliputi jenis media yang digunakan, persepsi guru dan siswa terhadap efektivitas media, serta kendala yang dihadapi dalam implementasinya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara dengan guru dan peserta didik, serta dokumentasi pembelajaran. Analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan dengan teknik triangulasi untuk menjaga keabsahan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru telah menggunakan berbagai media pembelajaran secara variatif dengan mengombinasikan media digital seperti video pembelajaran, Canva, Padlet, dan smartboard dengan media konvensional seperti LKPD, diskusi kelompok, dan galeri walk. Penggunaan media pembelajaran terbukti meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi PPKn yang bersifat abstrak, meningkatkan motivasi belajar, serta mendorong keaktifan dan partisipasi siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Meskipun demikian, terdapat beberapa kendala seperti keterbatasan fasilitas teknologi, gangguan jaringan internet, serta keterbatasan waktu pembelajaran. Guru mengatasi kendala tersebut dengan menyiapkan media alternatif offline dan mengombinasikan media pembelajaran digital dan konvensional.     This study aims to analyze the use of instructional media in the subject of Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) at State Senior High School 16 Samarinda. It covers the types of media used, teachers’ and students’ perceptions of the effectiveness of the media, as well as the challenges encountered in its implementation. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews with teachers and students, and learning documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing using triangulation techniques to ensure data validity. The results show that teachers have utilized a variety of instructional media by combining digital media such as learning videos, Canva, Padlet, and smartboards with conventional media such as student worksheets, group discussions, and gallery walks. The use of instructional media has been proven to enhance students’ understanding of abstract PPKn material, increase learning motivation, and encourage students’ activeness and participation in the learning process. However, several challenges remain, including limited technological facilities, internet network disruptions, and limited instructional time. Teachers address these challenges by preparing alternative offline media and combining digital and conventional instructional media.
