Abstract

Education plays a strategic role in shaping character and improving the quality of human resources. One effort to strengthen character in the Merdeka Curriculum is through the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile, particularly the dimension of independence. This study aims to describe the implementation of the independence dimension in Pancasila Education learning in Grade VII at SMP Negeri 2 Kota Jambi and to identify its supporting and inhibiting factors. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research participants included the principal, the Pancasila Education teacher, and Grade VII students. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and document analysis. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation, while data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results indicate that the independence dimension has been implemented in aspects of self-awareness, self-regulation, and initiative and responsibility in learning. Students have begun to demonstrate awareness of their learning responsibilities, the ability to manage time, and the courage to take initiative in completing tasks. However, the consistency of self-regulation and the self-confidence of some students still need to be strengthened. Supporting factors include a conducive school environment, the support of the Merdeka Curriculum, and participatory teaching approaches. Inhibiting factors include unstable study habits and distractions from gadget use

Abstract

This study examines the fulfillment of remission rights for correctional inmates at the Class I Palembang Correctional Institution (LPKA). The study aims to analyze the implementation of remissions and the obstacles encountered in their implementation. The study was conducted at the Class I Palembang Correctional Institution using empirical legal research methods and a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results indicate that the implementation of remissions is essentially in accordance with Law Number 22 of 2022 concerning Corrections, Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Criminal Justice System, and Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights Number 16 of 2023. However, its implementation still faces administrative obstacles, limited staff understanding of the latest regulations, and the suboptimal implementation of the Prisoner Development Assessment System (SPPN). Therefore, it is necessary to increase the capacity of staff and optimize the development system so that the fulfillment of remission rights can be carried out more effectively and oriented towards the best interests of children.

Abstract

Problems related to children's character are still a problem related to the frequent occurrence of deviations in their behavior. In Minangkabau society, there is a slightly different view of the role holder in developing children's character, namely involving the role of Mamak or the mother's brother to share responsibility for the character that grows in children (nephews). The study aims to describe the responsibility for children's character education in the Minangkabau kinship system, and to analyze the dynamics of the responsibility for children's character education in the Minangkabau kinship system and the causes. This study uses a literature review, which is part of a qualitative descriptive method using relevant reading sources. The results of the analysis show that there has been a shift in the responsibility for children's character education from Mamak to parents as a whole, caused by the Mamak's work which results in their own busyness, then the Mamak's busyness with their respective families.

Abstract

Early marriage remains a critical social and legal issue in Indonesia, as observed in Tantan Village, Sekernan District, Muaro Jambi Regency. This phenomenon persists despite existing legal regulations, specifically Law Number 16 of 2019, which sets the minimum age of marriage for both men and women at 19 years. This study aims to analyze the legal awareness of adolescents who practice early marriage in Tantan Village and to identify the factors influencing their level of legal awareness. This research is expected to provide an overview of adolescents' understanding, attitudes, and legal behavior toward the applicable marriage age regulations. The methodology employed in this study is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Data collection was conducted through technical triangulation. The research informants consist of adolescents practicing early marriage, parents, and representatives from the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA). Data analysis follows the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing to obtain an in-depth understanding of the adolescents' legal awareness level. The results indicate that the legal awareness of adolescents practicing early marriage in Tantan Village is still relatively low. This is evident from the adolescents' limited knowledge regarding the minimum marriage age provisions, a low understanding of the purpose behind the regulation, and weak legal compliance in actual marriage practices.
