Abstract

This study explores the perceived benefits and challenges of the Social Cash Transfer (SCT) programme for learners with disabilities in Kalumbila District, Zambia. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions involving learners, parents, teachers, and social service officers. The findings reveal that while SCT contributes to improved school attendance and basic educational support, significant barriers persist—including limited awareness, cultural stigma, inadequate outreach, and inconsistent disbursement. Schools played a crucial intermediary role, yet gaps in stakeholder coordination and inclusive communication practices hinder full access for eligible children. The study highlights systemic shortcomings in programme design, especially in addressing the complex needs of children with disabilities. It emphasizes the importance of embedding SCT within a broader inclusive social protection framework, supported by assistive services and multi-level collaboration. Despite offering critical insights, the study is limited by its geographic focus and qualitative scope, which constrain generalizability.

Abstract

The problem in this research is the increasing development of digital financial services such as Shopee PayLater, which makes it easier for students to make credit purchases. This convenience has the potential to impact financial management, especially in managing expenses and financial planning. Furthermore, the level of financial literacy also plays a significant role in determining an individual's ability to manage finances wisely. This study aims to analyze the effect of Shopee PayLater usage and financial literacy on the financial management of Economics students, class of 2023-2024, at Jambi University. The research method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive method with data collection through filling out a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS. The results show that partially, the use of Shopee PayLater has no significant effect on financial management. Meanwhile, financial literacy has a significant effect on student financial management. This study shows that the higher the level of financial literacy possessed by students, the better their ability to plan, organize, and control their personal finances.

Abstract

Cooperatives are a people's economic institution that plays a vital role in improving community welfare through the principles of togetherness, economic democracy, and member participation. However, Generation Z's interest in cooperatives in Indonesia remains relatively low. This study aims to analyze the factors contributing to Generation Z's low interest in cooperatives and to examine the role of innovation and digitalization in increasing young people's participation in cooperatives. This study used a literature review method by reviewing various relevant literature sources, such as scientific journals, articles, and previous research results. The results indicate that Generation Z's low interest is influenced by a lack of understanding of cooperatives, a perceived conventional image of cooperatives, minimal use of digital technology, and suboptimal promotion through social media. On the other hand, innovation and digitalization have been shown to increase the attractiveness of cooperatives through easy access to services, transparency, operational efficiency, and interactions that are more in line with Generation Z's characteristics. In addition, social and psychological factors also influence the level of participation of young people in cooperatives. Therefore, cooperatives need to undertake digital transformation, improve innovation services, and strengthen social media-based education and promotion to remain relevant and able to attract Generation Z's interest in the modern era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between the green economy, the digitalization of MSMEs, tax compliance, and the tax contributions of MSMEs. This study employs a quantitative approach using data collected via a questionnaire from a sample of 109 MSMEs in Indonesia. The data analysis technique used is Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the relationships among the variables. The results show that the green economy and the digitalization of MSMEs have a positive effect on MSME tax compliance, and tax compliance has a significant effect on MSME tax contributions. The findings of this study provide practical implications for policymakers and tax authorities to encourage MSME adoption of green economic practices and digital technologies as strategic instruments for improving tax compliance. In addition, the results suggest that strengthening digital transformation programs and sustainability-oriented initiatives among MSMEs can contribute to increasing tax revenues and supporting sustainable economic development. This study has a limitation in that it still uses digitalization in a general sense, without specifying the form of digitalization used. Future research is expected to focus on the digitalization of MSME record-keeping or the digitalization of the MSME tax system.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the implementation of the Pegadaian Gold Savings Program and fintech adoption on the saving intentions of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as well as to examine the role of financial literacy as a moderating variable. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method by distributing questionnaires to 160 MSME respondents in Jambi City. The data analysis technique used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Square (PLS). The results show that fintech adoption has a positive and significant effect on saving intentions, while the implementation of the Pegadaian Gold Savings Program does not have a significant effect. Financial literacy is also found to have a positive and significant effect on saving intentions. Furthermore, financial literacy significantly moderates the relationship between fintech adoption and saving intentions, but does not significantly moderate the relationship between the implementation of the Pegadaian Gold Savings Program and saving intentions. These findings indicate that improving financial literacy is essential in enhancing the effectiveness of fintech utilization in increasing MSMEs’ saving intentions. The implications of this study are expected to provide insights for policymakers and financial institutions in developing strategies to improve financial literacy and optimize the use of fintech and gold savings products among MSMEs.

Abstract

Problems related to children's character are still a problem related to the frequent occurrence of deviations in their behavior. In Minangkabau society, there is a slightly different view of the role holder in developing children's character, namely involving the role of Mamak or the mother's brother to share responsibility for the character that grows in children (nephews). This study uses a literature review, which is part of a qualitative descriptive method using relevant reading sources. The results of the analysis show that there has been a shift in the responsibility for children's character education from Mamak to parents as a whole, caused by the Mamak's work which results in their own busyness, then the Mamak's busyness with their respective families.

Abstract

This study examines the financial literacy competencies of first-semester university students, focusing on their ability to interpret authentic financial documents such as pay slips and bank statements. Using the PISA financial literacy framework, the study employed a qualitative descriptive design involving 32 students from Universitas Jambi. Data were collected through open-ended tasks and semi-structured interviews, with three representative cases analyzed in depth. The findings show that most students could perform basic calculations, including identifying gross and net income, but experienced difficulties in more complex financial reasoning. Common errors involved misunderstanding recurring administrative fees and ignoring prior balances when calculating final account totals. Interviews revealed that students often relied on estimation rather than systematic reasoning, indicating a stronger procedural than conceptual understanding of financial information. The study highlights the importance of pedagogical approaches that promote interpretive and analytical reasoning beyond computation. It recommends the use of contextualized, open-ended financial tasks based on the PISA framework and encourages interdisciplinary collaboration between mathematics and economics education to strengthen students’ financial literacy and decision-making skills.

Abstract

This research looks at how cooperatives and small businesses in Jambi City have helped improve the well-being of the community between the years 2020 and 2025. This study looks at how poverty and economic inequality continue to exist even though the country's economy has been growing in a positive way. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach, which focuses on understanding a phenomenon thoroughly by closely examining the actual situation. Studies show that cooperatives and small and medium-sized businesses help improve the well-being of communities by providing jobs, boosting income, and supporting the local economy. However, this contribution hasn't reached its fullest potential because of some challenges, like not having enough money to invest, not having skilled enough workers, not having good access to markets, and not using digital tools properly. This means that even though there are some improvements in community well-being, these benefits are not shared equally, and there are still big differences in wealth and income between different areas. So, to make cooperatives and small businesses play a bigger role in helping the community in a lasting way, it's important to strengthen institutions, train the workforce, and speed up the digital transformation process.
