Abstract

With increasing competitive pressures, companies are trying to improve the quality of their processes and the work quality of their. This fact has triggered the companies to improve their information systems. Having made some investments in IT systems, those companies look for ways to gain benefits from their investments. The benefit from IS investment arise when the use of information system (IS) provides some positive impact to the organisation in terms of business impacts and individual impacts. Thus, investigating IS impact for individual user„s performance is very important. This study explores the effect of IS quality on individual benefits. The influence of six moderating variables related to knowledge enablers on the impact of IS quality on individual benefits was studied. The six moderating variables are: collaboration, trust, learning, centralisation, expertise, and formalisation. Data was collected using questionnaires distributed at two big private companies in Indonesia. Data processing was done with the help of SPSS software. After factor analysis, IS quality was split into two variables: Information quality and System and service quality. The study found that both the variables influence the perceived individual benefits significantly. The influence of information quality on individual benefit is positively moderated by expertise, learning, centralisation and formalisation. Finally, the influence of system and service quality on individual benefit is positively moderated by expertise and formalization.

Abstract

The process of implementing information technology (IT) often fails to bring the intended result because the human dimension is not given adequate consideration. Yet despite some evidence of failure, little has been written on the nature of human performance, compared to abundant resources about technical and procedural aspects, as it applies to the ideals of the IT philosophy. To combat people’s deficiencies, this paper focuses mainly on the question why people resist IT. It explores sources of human resistance to the use of IT. A survey is the conducted to personnel working for construction companies to examine the resistance sources. The result reveals personal money, habit, and threat to information security as most dominant sources for such resistance, instead of fear of employment instability as many previous researches have discussed. The paper discusses the resistances and suggests possible solutions to deal with them.

Abstract

The use of management information systems applications (SIM) based on computers is still very rare in health facilities such as pharmacies. Ussually, the drug management is done manually so the accuracy of drug management is not good. Based on that problem, research on the application of management information system is needed to see the performance of pharmacies with SIM based on computerize and non-computeize. This study aimed to know the performance of pharmacies in terms of the efficiency of the management of the drug, human resources efficiency and the quickness service of SIM application with computerized and non-computerized. The research metthod was descriptive analytic design by using case studies at the pharmacy X with computerized SIM and Pharmacy Y with non computerized SIM. The data analysis for the management of drug used efficiency of medication management indicators, human resource efficiency used workload analysis, and the speed of measurement time service used dispensing time. The result illustrated that the efficiency of the management of computerized pharmacy medication was better than the non computerized pharmacies. In terms of human resources efficiency levels, as seen from the composition of the human resources required indicated that non computerized pharmacies needed more human resources than computerized pharmacies, as well as the rate speed of service to patients showed that computerized pharmacies was quicker in the service. Keywords: Pharmacy, SIM computerized, SIM non computerized

Abstract

To improve the quality of service, a hospital needs a management information system that always follow the development of information technology. If the system does not provide the required information, the user will not satisfied and look for other alternatives. Satisfaction of the users can be used to evaluate the quality of information systems in organization. This study aimed to evaluate the quality of pharmacy management information system in academic hospital of Gadjah Mada University and to know theobstacles and benefits perceived by the user with customer window analysis. This study was descriptive research, with survey method. The subjects in this study were physician, pharmacist and IT Officer. The data were analyzed using SERVQUAL and Customer Window Analysis The result showed that there was negative gap value between expectations and perception of the user management information systems of the hospitals. Therefore all of the user experienced dissatisfaction with the management information systems. The biggest gap was in dimensions of assurance (-1,36) followed by dimensions of esponsiveness (-1,35), reliability (-1,15), tangibles (-1,1) and empathy (-0,94). Meanwhile, the largest gap in the information service quality was the format (-1,92), followed by completeness (-1,35), timeliness (-1,17), accuracy (-1,08), security (-1,00), ease of use (-0,98) and socio cultural (-0,96). From the analysis of customer window, the priorities of improvement were in the dimension of responsiveness, assurance and format. Keywords: Quality, Management information system RSA UGM, SERVQUAL, Customer Window Analysis

Abstract

One of the blockbuster drugs that has been off-patent and attract domestic pharmaceutical industry to produce a lot of version of me too is anti-hypertensive drugs Norvask®, in which the active ingredient is the salt form of amlodipine besylate. The goal of this study is to verify the conformity between me too drugs formulation and patent information (Case study: Amlodipine Tablets – PT Indofarma (Persero) Tbk). The results are expected to change the views of people who often doubt that me too drugs quality are smaller than patent drugs. The analysis method used in this study is performed descriptively. Information about amlodipine formulation obtained from PT Indofarma (Persero) Tbk is verified with the active substance test results obtained from amlodipine drugs on the market. After that, the total results can be compared with the proprietary patent information obtained from United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) website. The result showed that there is a compatibilty between formulation of me too drugs and patent information (Case Study: Amlodipine – PT Indofarma (Persero) Tbk) in major issues such as compotition, active ingredient, level of active ingredient, dosage form and production process. Profile dissolution which is owned by amlodipine tablet from PT Indofarma (Persero) Tbk remains equivalent to the innovator product (Norvask®), although there was a modification by adding an excipient X. Amlodipine tablet generic produced by PT Indofarma (Persero) Tbk is me too 100% (identical).
