Abstract

The Legal Documentation and Information Network Library (JDIH) of Lampung Province faced challenges in managing legal document classification manually, which often resulted in inefficiency and errors. The library began implementing the 23rd edition of the Electronic Dewey Decimal Classification (e-DDC) system in May 2023 to address this issue. This study aims to examine the implementation of e-DDC in improving the efficiency of document classification in the library. A qualitative research approach was employed using a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with four library staff members and six users, supported by observations and documentation. The findings reveal that the implementation of e-DDC positively impacted collection management, including faster classification processes, improved accuracy, and effective integration with the library management system (SLiMS). Users also reported easier access to and retrieval of legal materials. However, several obstacles were identified, such as the initial lack of understanding among staff, limited technological infrastructure, challenges in transitioning from a manual to a digital system, and insufficient user orientation regarding the e-DDC system. Key findings indicate that successful implementation is supported by adequate staff training, strong managerial support, and the availability of appropriate technological tools. On the other hand, additional strategies are needed, such as providing user guidance and improving technological infrastructure. In conclusion, the 23rd edition of e-DDC has proven effective in enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of legal information, although continuous improvements are required to optimize its use.

Abstract

TB Bangun Jaya is a building materials store that still manages manual stock recording and sales transactions, so there are often recording errors, delays in reporting, and difficulties in tracking goods data. This problem shows the need for an information system that is able to integrate stock management and payments efficiently and accurately. This research aims to design an integrated information system that can support the operational process of TB Bangun Jaya. The system development method with the waterfall model, and the data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, and literature studies, with a structured system development approach. The result of this study is a system design that includes context diagrams, DFD Level 0, DFD Level 1, ERD, which represent the process of managing data of goods, transactions, and reporting. This design is expected to be the initial solution in the digitization of store business processes. Further research is recommended to proceed to the stage of system implementation, functionality testing, and development of cloud-based features so that the system can be accessed online and in real-time.

Abstract

The Academic Information System (SIAKAD) serves a pivotal function in enhancing both operational efficiency and the quality of academic services within higher education institutions, particularly amidst the accelerating shift toward digitalization in the education sector. Despite its strategic importance, the effectiveness of SIAKAD implementation is contingent upon the level of user satisfaction—most notably that of students—which remains insufficiently explored through analytical models capable of capturing intricate causal relationships. This study seeks to empirically examine the determinants of student satisfaction in utilizing SIAKAD by investigating the influence of system quality, information quality, and ease of use, with perceived usefulness positioned as a mediating construct. The research adopts the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach, which is methodologically appropriate for complex models involving latent variables and non-normally distributed data. The analysis is based on survey data collected from 128 active undergraduate students at Universitas Patompo. The empirical findings indicate that information quality exerts a significant direct influence on student satisfaction (β = 0.547; p < 0.001) and an additional indirect effect mediated by perceived usefulness (β = 0.268; p < 0.001). Conversely, system quality and ease of use demonstrate no statistically significant effects. The coefficient of determination values (R² = 0.706 for satisfaction; R² = 0.615 for perceived usefulness) reflect a strong predictive capability of the model. These results affirm that information quality is the most salient predictor of user satisfaction, underscoring the imperative to prioritize content enhancement as a strategic direction in the advancement of academic information systems within the higher education landscape.

Abstract

In the current era of advanced and developing technology, the road crossing system is the most important part of city infrastructure whose aim is to ensure the safety of other road users. In recent years, technological developments have provided opportunities to increase efficiency so that road crossing system safety can be achieved. One of the technologies that can be utilized is Adobe Flash CS6 which is used by researchers to create interactive and attractive user interfaces. This research aims to develop a road crossing system based on Adobe Flash CS6. The research steps used the MDLC (Multimedia Development Life Cycle) method, including analyzing user needs, designing an intuitive user interface, implementing interactive features using Adobe Flash CS6, as well as testing and evaluating system performance. The main goal of this research is to create a more interactive and intuitive road crossing system using Adobe Flash CS6 technology. This information system is expected to increase road use awareness of traffic rules, thereby reducing the risk of accidents. By implementing a road crossing system based on Adobe Flash CS6, several good results can be achieved. Increased user awareness of traffic safety through an interactive user interface. Increased efficiency of the road crossing system through features designed to optimize pedestrian traffic flow. Reducing the risk of accidents at road crossings through the use of more sophisticated and intuitive technology. It is hoped that the results of this research can make a positive contribution to the safety and efficiency of road crossing systems in urban areas. This information system can be updated according to the wishes and needs of the responsible local government.

Abstract

One of the communities in the East Lombok area that has a lot of tourism potential is Tetebatu Village. Unfortunately, lack of awareness and promotion has hindered the full realization of this potential. A tourism information system application is needed that can provide accurate and comprehensive information and marketing to tourists to overcome these problems. The user interface and user experience of the Jepara Regency tourism information system application were created using the design thinking process in this research. This approach was chosen because it allows users to be involved in the design process, resulting in a product tailored to the user's needs and preferences. Research findings show that the Tetebatu Village tourism information system application was created with an intuitive and adaptable user interface. Apart from that, this application has a number of features that can facilitate tourists' access to information and promotions related to tourism in Tetebatu Village.

Abstract

The development and implementation of a Scheduling Information System (SIWAL) is designed to optimize academic scheduling and class management at a university. SIWAL aims to address inefficiencies in the manual scheduling process by providing functionality for course scheduling, lecturer assignment, and classroom allocation management. This system serves three main stakeholders: lecturers, students, and academic administrators. Lecturers can view their teaching schedules, request schedule changes, and access classroom information. Students have easy access to their lecture schedules, including class locations and lecturer details. Academic administrators use SIWAL to generate and manage academic schedules, resolve schedule conflicts, and analyze classroom use and faculty workload. The implementation involves software development using appropriate programming languages and frameworks, database design, system integration, rigorous testing (including black box testing methods), and user training. The successful implementation of SIWAL has increased operational efficiency from 10% to 90%, improved the quality of services for lecturers and students, and supported better decision-making for academic management. Future development could focus on further integration of SIWAL with other university systems and improvements to the user interface to ensure continued use and effectiveness in academic scheduling.

Abstract

The way people access, manage, and disseminate information has been fundamentally transformed by the rapid advancement of digital technology. Multimedia—integrating text, images, audio, video, and animation into interactive digital formats—is one of the most significant developments. Using a qualitative descriptive approach based on literature review, this study aims to investigate the influence of multimedia on information dissemination in the digital era. The findings indicate that platforms such as TikTok, Google, and WhatsApp have a substantial impact on content consumption and distribution patterns across various age groups. While multimedia can foster creativity and enhance communication, it also poses risks such as misinformation and emotional manipulation. Understanding these dynamics is essential to maximize the potential of multimedia and minimize its drawbacks. This study highlights the critical importance of digital literacy and ethical media use to ensure the flow of accurate and responsible information in society.

Abstract

This study investigates the transformative potential of blockchain-enabled information systems for transparent greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting in maritime training organizations, addressing critical gaps in regulatory compliance and environmental accountability. Through qualitative thematic analysis of in-depth interviews with five maritime education professionals, this research examines how distributed ledger technology can revolutionize compliance with emerging EU regulations, including FuelEU Maritime directives and EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) requirements, alongside International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards. The study reveals that blockchain technology offers unprecedented solutions to longstanding challenges in maritime education systems, particularly in transparency, verification accuracy, and cross-organizational interoperability. Key findings highlight the technology's capacity to enable smart contract automation for real-time compliance monitoring, create immutable credentialing systems that enhance trust among stakeholders, and establish secure, tamper-proof records of seafarer competency development and environmental certification processes. Results demonstrate that blockchain-based systems can significantly strengthen the integrity of maritime training records while streamlining regulatory reporting processes.

Abstract

Gondang is one of the PSHT sub-branches located in Sragen Regency, Central Java, Indonesia. In managing member data from recruitment to promotion, conventional methods are still used using office applications and information dissemination is still using brochures and social media. This research aims to develop an information system that can help manage data and disseminate information at PSHT Gondang. The system developed can manage the registration of prospective member to become a member and the process of promotion. Delivery of information in the form of organizational structures, announcements, activity schedules, services for member and community, activity galleries containing photos and videos can also be accessed through the system.EUD was chosen as a method in system development because time required is quite short with a relatively small cost allocation. The system is created using Laravel framework and Firebase as a database with a responsive display so that it can be accessed using a smartphone. By using the EUD method, users can modify the appearance and existing information if there is a change in data from the organization which was not available in previous research.
