Abstract

Advances in information technology have accelerated the digitalization of educational services, including Indonesia’s student admission process (PPDB). This study designs and evaluates a web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) to map student-origin distributions and construct promotion zones that guide PPDB outreach strategies. The system was built with CodeIgniter and Leaflet for interactive mapping, while applicant addresses/school origins were processed via geocoding. Outputs include point maps, density heatmaps, administrative-area aggregation (urban village/sub-district), and simple distance buffers (e.g., 1–3 km) to derive rule-based priority promotion zones (thresholds on density and proximity to the school). Evaluation comprised functional testing (black box) and user assessments using questionnaires (Likert/SUS). Results indicate that the system expedites registration, reduces the risk of data loss, simplifies data summarization, and provides promotion-zoning maps that help committees target outreach more effectively. The contributions are: (1) a PPDB web-GIS model that combines origin mapping with rule-based promotion zoning, (2) a replicable operational workflow, and (3) recommendations for future work, including advanced analytics dashboards and automated notifications

Abstract

Selain itu, penerapan strategi First Expired First Out (FEFO) diperlukan untuk memantau kualitas bahan baku yang memiliki masa simpan terbatas, guna menghindari kerugian akibat produk kedaluwarsa.

Abstract

Credit union (CU) is an important financial institution for poor society and micro industriesin supporting the fact in which in credit unions, client doesn't require complicated clauseslike other micro finance companies. Yet, traditional ways in accounting system make limitationfor this institution efficient and effective in their operation. By applying an informationsystem, they can increase performance through repairing in planning and managing businessand easier in transaction activity. Thus, it will reduce operation costs. The main objective ofthe research is to develop an electronic transaction system (ETS) for credit unions (CUs) byidentifying determinants that are considered by managers and employees of credit unions inadopting the system. To investigate the determinants for adopting information system, theresearch uses Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) modified by other models such as TRA,TPB and DOI. Using Structural Equation, the result shows supporting evidence for TAM thatperceived ease of use and perceived usefulness are important determinants for adopting informationsystems.

Abstract

This study attempts to predict the impact of framing in decisions that preceded the presence ofrisk information in the format of value at risk and sensitivity analysis, and also preliminary evidencein assessing the implementation of a predetermined standard. It was done experimentallywith the design of between-within-subject design and 2 (Format: VAR & SA) x 2 (Frame: Gain &Loss) factorial using 15 students of Master of Accounting program and PPAK program that actsas a participant in the experiment. The result showed that there are no differences in decisionsmade by participants if the information is presented in the form of value at risk or sensitivityanalysis. This suggests that participants did not give different weights to the format of risk reportsthat are presented, so it can be concluded that both the format of risk reports in this studydid not affect the investment decisions. Thus, companies can choose one of two formats to meetthe obligations of the risk statement presentation required by the IFRS No. 7. This study alsoprovides additional evidence that the individual decisions can be influenced by framing andproves that theory within the framework of Prospect Theory plays a role in investment decisions.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of the 2008-2009 financial crisis on the earnings managementbehavior of Indonesian listed firms. This study gives evidence of how the presence of informationasymmetry affects management incentives to manage earnings, especially through real activities. When information asymmetry is high, stakeholders do not have sufficient resources, incentives oraccess to relevant information to monitor manager’s actions, which gives rise to the practice ofearnings management. This research replicate the work of Richardson (2000) and Rahmawatiand Baridwan (2006) but in the setting of during global financial crisis. This study examines theeffect of SarbOx on earnings management behavior and shows that earnings management hasshifted from accrual management to real account management. Using 55 manufacturing firmsfrom 2008 to 2011, this study adds to our knowledge of earning management and informationasymmetry during global financial crisis in Indonesia.

Abstract

The research attempts to reveal, in explanatory causality, the effect of the use of ac- counting information on the belief revision of stock selection for the security prospects in Indonesia Stock Exchange. The data were collected using survey on investment managers with individual unit analysis, through simple random sampling. They were analyzed using structural equation model (SEM). The result shows that there is posi- tive effect of the usefulness of accounting information on belief revision and return preferences; there is positive effect of the usefull of price information on belief revision and return preferences; there is positive effect of systematis risk on the usefulness of price information, and there is positive effect of belief revision on return preferences. This result also indicates negative effect of the usefulness of accounting information on the unsystematic risk; the negative effect of systematic risk on belief revision, as well as the negative effect of unsystematic risk on belief revision. Variables of unsystematic risk and belief revision are a mediating variable because it is increasing the effect and the relationships among variables. Yet, the use of price information is as a mediating because it lowers the effect between variables. The study also shows that accounting information is very useful because it contains value, relevan, reliabel, comparative information and has prospect in the future in decision making. Investment managers shlod be sophisticated, rational, prudent, and have risk preferences that can make a positive contribution in the advisory to investors.

Abstract

Accounting information allows management to implement strategies and operational activities which are necessary to achieve the objectives of the organization as a whole, including on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Many SMEs have difficulty in understanding the accounting information well, whereas the accounting information plays an important role in creating the flow of financial information to support sur- vival or going concern of the SMEs. This study has two objectives. First, to determine the effect of knowledge of accounting, business scale, business experience, and types of businesses on the use of accounting information with the environmental uncertainty as a moderating variable on SMEs in Surabaya and Sidoarjo, second, to determine the effect of the use of accounting information on the performance of SMEs. The result shows that knowledge of accounting, business scale, and business experience affect the use of accounting information. However, the variable of type of business does not affect the use of accounting information. The result of hierarchical regression analysis shows that the variable of environmental uncertainty strengthens the efffect of the variables of knowledge of accounting, business experience, and type of business on the use of accounting information. However, the environmental uncertainty does not strengthen the effect of business scale on the use of accounting information. The test result also shows that the use of accounting information can improve the performance of SMEs.

Abstract

Auditing is a process to verify financial statements that require a high degree of professional skepticism from auditors. However, auditors individually have cognitive limitation in processing information. Overall assessment potentially leads to halo effect that will influence auditors’ decision making. On the other hand, the sequence and type of information presentation affect primacy and recency effect. Our experimental research design manipulated the information about client (convincing or unconvincing), type of information presentation (step by step and end of sequence), sequence of presentation (positive-negative, negative-positive) and length of information (long and short). The subjects of experiment were students who had taken auditing courses. The results shows that (1) there was higher halo bias when individuals had convincing clients than unconvincing clients, (2) there was halo and primacy effects when individuals had convincing clients and information was presented simultaneously and sequentially, (3) there was halo and primacy effects when individuals had convincing clients and information was presented both with positive-negative and negative-positive sequences and both with short and long series.
