Abstract

Digital transformation has become a strategic necessity for modern organizations, including Islamic value-based organizations that are required to remain adaptive without abandoning sharia principles. This study aims to analyze the role of Management Information Systems (MIS) in digital transformation, identify opportunities and challenges for their implementation, explore patterns of Islamic value integration, and formulate a contextual MIS adoption model. The method used is a qualitative approach through literature studies using content analysis and thematic analysis techniques of various scientific sources and institutional reports. The results show that MIS plays a key role in improving operational efficiency, the quality of data-driven decision-making, and organizational transparency. MIS implementation opens up opportunities for increased innovation, efficiency, and accountability, but is faced with challenges such as cultural resistance, limited digital literacy, and gaps in the integration of Islamic values that are still symbolic. Therefore, an integrative approach is needed through holistic, contextual, and cultural patterns so that Islamic values are substantively internalized in the system. This study produces a value-based MIS adoption model that emphasizes the balance between technological readiness, organization, and the principles of maqasid al-shariah. The implications of this research provide a conceptual contribution in developing a digital transformation framework based on Islamic values that is adaptive, ethical, and sustainable.

Abstract

Hydrological analysis in urban areas often suffers from inaccuracies in Digital Elevation Model (DEM) interpretation, especially in detecting micro-depressions and small-scale surface flow patterns. Previous studies typically relied solely on the automatic D8 algorithm in GIS without manual verification, resulting in flow directions that do not fully represent actual surface conditions. This study aims to compare manual D8-based flow direction calculations with automatic ArcGIS processing using DEMNAS data for Langsa City. The DEM (8.1 m resolution) underwent sink filling, hydrological conditioning, slope and aspect processing, followed by field validation using GPS measurements. The results show that the manual method identified 23 flow paths, whereas ArcGIS detected only 11. The differences stem mainly from micro-topographic variations that the automatic algorithm failed to capture in flat areas or anthropogenically modified surfaces. Field validation confirmed that 8 of the 11 ArcGIS-derived paths matched the actual drainage patterns, while the additional manual paths better represented subtle elevation gradients. This research contributes by offering a systematic comparison between manual and automatic D8 approaches, highlighting the importance of manual verification in low-slope urban terrains. The findings are valuable for micro-scale flood mitigation planning and urban surface hydrology analysis.

Abstract

Manual and fragmented KPI-based evaluation often weakens employee performance monitoring by causing delays, input errors, and inconsistent interpretation. This study addresses that problem by designing and evaluating an AI-assisted digital KPI information system that integrates competency assessment, digital KPI records, performance scoring, dashboard-based monitoring, and recommendation support in a single environment. The study contributes by transforming the conventional competency–KPI–performance framework into an operational decision-support artifact with embedded AI classification. Using a prototype-based approach, the system was evaluated with a structured dataset of 340 employee-year records from 2021–2025. Three machine learning models were compared for classifying employee performance into High, Moderate, and Low categories. The results show that the system is functionally feasible and usable for KPI-based performance monitoring, while Random Forest achieved the best classification performance with 0.9853 accuracy and 0.9852 F1-score. The findings indicate that the proposed system can improve the structure of digital KPI monitoring and provide AI-assisted support for managerial review and follow-up actions. The study contributes theoretically by extending KPI-based performance management into an intelligent information system context and practically by offering a feasible model for organizations operating under limited implementation conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate public satisfaction with the InaRISK application as a national disaster risk information system developed by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB). The research is a continuation of a previous study using the same measurement instrument, enabling a longitudinal comparison of service quality. The study applies the Public Satisfaction Index (Indeks Kepuasan Masyarakat/IKM) method based on the Regulation of the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Number 14 of 2017, which measures nine service elements. Data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed via Google Forms to 2,448 respondents who participated in the InaRISK application socialization webinar in 2025. The results show that the Public Satisfaction Index in 2025 reached 84.54, categorized as “Good”, which indicates an improvement compared to the previous study that obtained a score of 83.46. Among the evaluated service elements, service procedures obtained the highest score and was categorized as “Very Good”, while response speed remained in the “Less Good” category. These findings indicate that the overall quality of InaRISK digital services has improved, although improvements in service responsiveness are still necessary to enhance user satisfaction more evenly. This study contributes to the evaluation of digital public services in disaster management systems through a longitudinal measurement approach.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of Digital Entrepreneurship Academy (DEA) of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics ( Kominfo ) of Medan City on the competence of MSMEs. This study is needed to identify that digital entrepreneurship awareness is still below average and MSME actors have not utilized digital platforms optimally in the digitalization era in their business operations. The approach used is a quantitative approach with a survey technique of 337 respondents in the DEA Kominfo Medan Program with multiple linear regression analysis. In this study, the understanding of digital entrepreneurship and the use of digital platforms are independent variables and MSME competence is the dependent variable. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that both independent variables have a significant influence, both partially and simultaneously, on MSME competence at a significance level of 0.000 (<0.05). These skills are mainly improved in business financial management, by using a digital-based system. The coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.929, which means that these two variables explain 92.9% of MSME competence and 7.1% is caused by other variables that cannot be analyzed in this study. Based on the results of this study, it is concluded that the Medan Kominfo DEA Program can improve the digital knowledge and skills of SMEs in facing competition in the digital era.

Abstract

The phenomenon of underpricing in initial public offerings (IPOs), where the offering price is systematically set below market value, has become a documented anomaly across global capital markets. This study aims to analyze post-IPO stock price performance on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from January 2022 to March 2025 from an information asymmetry perspective, identify the determinants of underpricing, and test the long-run underperformance hypothesis in the context of post-pandemic emerging markets. The study used data from 190 IPO companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) between 2022 and 2025, raising a total of IDR 107.5 trillion. Stock performance was measured over five time horizons: 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 6 months, and 1 year post-listing. Three proxies for information asymmetry were used as independent variables: the natural logarithm of the IPO price (Ln_P0), the natural logarithm of funds raised (Ln_Dana), and the number of underwriters (N_UW). The study constructed the AI Index as a composite measure of information asymmetry based on Min-Max normalization. Analytical methods included a one-sample t-test, a non-parametric Friedman test with post-hoc Wilcoxon rank sum, and multivariate Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression with IPO year and quarter as control variables. First, underpricing is significantly proven with an average initial return of 15.93% [t(189) = 12.90, p < 0.001, 95% CI: 13.51%-18.35%]. Second, there is a very significant difference in performance between time horizons [Friedman chi-square(4) = 79.84, p < 0.001], with a median return pattern decreasing from +15.00% (1 day) to -22.50% (1 year). Third, the OLS regression model for 1D Return is significant [F(8,181) = 2.617, p = 0.010, R² = 10.4%]: Ln IPO Price has a negative effect (beta = -0.064, p = 0.007); Ln Funds has a positive effect on IR (beta = +0.054, p = 0.002) and 1Y Return (beta = +0.703, p = 0.029); The number of underwriters has a significant negative effect (beta = -0.024, p = 0.019). Fourth, the long-run underperformance hypothesis is not proven based on the mean (+44.01%), but is supported at the median level (median 1Y = -22.50%), indicating that the majority of IPO shares experience losses within 1 year after listing. The study confirms the validity of the Rock's Winner's Curse Model in the Indonesian capital market and identifies a demand-side effect operating in parallel with the information asymmetry mechanism, where large-scale IPOs generate higher initial returns through oversubscription. The extreme divergence between the mean and median 1-Year Returns underscores the importance of comprehensive distribution analysis in IPO performance research. Practical implications include horizon-based investment strategy guidance for investors, pricing optimization recommendations for issuers and underwriters, and price discovery policy reform recommendations for the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX).
