Abstract

Landfill site selection in Ogan Ilir Regency presents significant challenges due to escalating waste generation and the risks associated with improper landfill siting. This research identifies and maps environmentally suitable locations for landfill development in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, Indonesia, through an integrated methodology that combines the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and remote sensing. Ten sub-criteria were established and categorized as physical, environmental, or socioeconomic, with each assigned a weight via pairwise comparison matrices. The resulting weighted spatial layers were analyzed using a weighted linear combination technique to produce comprehensive suitability models. The analysis classified the study area into three categories: less suitable (1.81%, 4,307.73 ha), moderately suitable (74.46%, 177,404.25 ha), and highly suitable (23.73%, 56,533.78 ha) for landfill development. The framework was validated using satellite imagery and adapted to local conditions, delivering a practical decision-support tool for regional planners and decision makers to promote effective and environmentally sustainable waste management strategies.

Abstract

In the digital age, information overload occurs when individuals are overwhelmed by excessive and conflicting data, complicating decision-making. This overload leads to consumer confusion, making it hard to process available options and often resulting in purchasing avoidance. Studies show that consumer confusion mediates the relationship between information overload and purchasing avoidance, heightening anxiety and delaying decisions. While more information can sometimes help, it frequently causes confusion and fatigue, which ultimately hinders purchasing decisions. Our study used quantitative sampling with a purpose to collect and analyze data from 156 students of Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto. After that, we used Structural Equation Modeling PLS data collected through questionnaires to test the model. Our findings show how effective consumer confusion can increase information overload and purchasing avoidance. Furthermore, business owners should focus on reducing consumer confusion to reduce the negative impact of information overload on purchasing decisions.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of generative artificial intelligence (AI) has significantly transformed how individuals access, process, and utilize information, particularly among Generation Z. This study aims to examine the influence of artificial intelligence usage intensity on the information-seeking habits of Generation Z. A quantitative explanatory approach with a cross-sectional survey design was employed. Data were collected through an online questionnaire from 400 valid Generation Z respondents in Indonesia who had experience using AI applications such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and Perplexity. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, validity and reliability testing, classical assumption testing, and simple linear regression analysis with IBM SPSS Statistics. The results indicate that artificial intelligence usage intensity has a positive and statistically significant effect on information-seeking habits (β = 0.541, t = 14.744, p < 0.001). The regression model explains 35.3% of the variance in information-seeking habits (R² = 0.353). Respondents demonstrated high levels of AI usage, particularly in search initiation and conversational query formulation, whereas information verification and source comparison obtained relatively lower scores. These findings suggest that AI enhances the efficiency and accessibility of information seeking but does not automatically strengthen critical evaluation and verification practices. The study contributes empirical evidence regarding AI-mediated information behavior among Generation Z and highlights the importance of integrating AI literacy with information literacy to promote responsible, critical, and ethical use of generative AI.

Abstract

Transparency of public information and government responsiveness are important principles in realizing responsive governance. This study focuses on the public information request and complaint services organized by the Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID) at the Central Java Provincial Transportation Department. Through these services, the government can identify public needs, questions, and complaints, so the ability to respond to services is an important aspect in assessing responsive government practices. However, in practice, there is still a gap between the initial response to complaints and the follow-up to their resolution. This study aims to analyze the responsiveness of public information request and complaint services at the PPID of the Central Java Provincial Transportation Department and identify factors that influence it from a responsive governance perspective. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative, with data collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation studies. The results of the study are expected to provide an overview of the level of responsiveness of public information and complaint services at the PPID of the Central Java Provincial Transportation Department and serve as recommendations for improving the quality of public information services and follow-up to handling public complaints.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology requires business organizations, from Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to large corporations, to adopt integrated digital platforms. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a core component of modern Management Information Systems (MIS), integrating various operational functions into a single, centralized database. This article examines the implementation of ERP as an integral part of MIS by synthesizing empirical data from 20 previous journal articles. The analysis focuses on optimizing functional management (HR, Finance, Inventory, and Omnichannel Distribution), the real-world impact on financial performance and company value, and the structural and psychological challenges during implementation. The literature synthesis indicates that successful ERP system implementation can improve operational efficiency, data governance transparency, profit reporting accuracy, and accelerate inventory turnover. However, its contribution to increasing market value on the stock exchange is conditional and is strongly influenced by company size and the macroeconomic stability of the industrial sector. Internally, the biggest challenges lie in user discipline in timely data input and resistance to technological adaptation. While psychological factors such as work motivation have not been shown to moderate employee performance effectiveness systematically.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of inventory management literacy (LMP) and information technology adoption (ATI) on the operational efficiency (EO) of SMEs, with inventory control (PP) as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach with an explanatory survey design was employed, involving 120 SME owners/managers selected through purposive sampling and analyzed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS 4.0. The results show that LMP and ATI each have a significant positive direct effect on both PP and EO, with ATI being the strongest predictor of PP. PP also has a significant positive effect on EO and partially mediates both the ATI-EO and LMP-EO relationships. The model demonstrates substantial predictive power in explaining variance in EO. These findings confirm that improving inventory management literacy and IT adoption are important strategies for SMEs to enhance operational efficiency, both directly and through strengthening their inventory control systems

Abstract

This study was conducted in response to the need to improve the quality of digital academic services in higher education, particularly the issuance and verification of web-based digital diplomas. Accordingly, the study examines how information system service quality affects user satisfaction through service efficiency in the context of a web-based digital diploma system. The study employed a quantitative explanatory model using a cross-sectional approach. The research population consisted of Universitas Ciputra students and alumni, and purposive sampling was used to obtain 95 respondents who had experience using the digital diploma system. The data were analyzed through path analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics, supported by validity testing, reliability testing, classical assumption testing, the Sobel test, and bootstrap confidence intervals. The results show that information system service quality has a positive and significant effect on user satisfaction and service efficiency. Service efficiency also has a positive and significant effect on user satisfaction and significantly mediates the relationship between information system service quality and user satisfaction. The mediation is partial because the direct effect remains significant while the indirect effect through service efficiency is also significant. These findings indicate that a high-quality information system can increase user satisfaction both directly and through more efficient service delivery. Higher education institutions should therefore strengthen the technical quality of digital academic systems and ensure that these systems create effective services in actual practice. Improvements should focus on system usability, reliability, security, accuracy, process simplification, error reduction, and responsive helpdesk support. A web-based digital diploma system should consequently be viewed not merely as a tool for document digitization, but also as a strategic instrument for institutional digital transformation and the improvement of academic service quality.

Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meals Program (Program Makan Bergizi Gratis/MBG), administered by Indonesia’s National Nutrition Agency (Badan Gizi Nasional/BGN), positions Nutritional Support Units (Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi/SPPG) as technical implementers responsible for large-scale daily procurement of fresh food ingredients. This study aimed to analyze the conditions, constraints, and effectiveness of internal controls within the food ingredient procurement accounting information system (AIS) at five SPPG units in West Java. The study employed a qualitative approach using a multi-site descriptive case study design involving SPPG Cililin, Cileunyi, Cijaura, Padasuka Cimahi, and Sukamenak. Primary data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with 14 informants, complemented by accounting document reviews and field observations, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña (2014). The findings indicate that four of the five SPPG units had implemented relatively well-organized procurement AIS practices with varying levels of maturity, whereas SPPG Cililin experienced systemic challenges due to limited human resources. The main determinants of AIS quality were compliance with BGN’s official standard operating procedures, disciplined routine reconciliation processes, and the administrative quality of partner cooperatives. The study also found that BGN had established formal standards and reporting systems that encouraged SPPG reporting compliance through a fund-disbursement incentive mechanism. Based on the COSO (2013) framework, internal controls over procurement at four SPPG units were considered relatively adequate due to layered authorization procedures, although a fully independent verification function had not yet been formally implemented. The study recommends strengthening the dissemination of BGN’s existing AIS standards, enforcing segregation of duties at the SPPG level, and standardizing documentation practices among partner cooperatives.
