Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has provided new opportunities for students in academic activities and scientific writing while raising ethical concerns related to privacy, information accuracy, ownership, and accessibility. This study aimed to describe students’ self-reported awareness and perceptions of Information Ethics in using AI for scientific writing based on Mason’s Privacy, Accuracy, Property, and Accessibility (PAPA) framework. This study employed a quantitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire from 100 Universitas Sumatera Utara students selected using purposive sampling. The instrument consisted of 18 Information Ethics items based on the PAPA dimensions and 14 supporting items related to scientific writing, covering aspects of the Theory of Planned Behavior and Information Literacy. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Corrected Item-Total Correlation, and Cronbach’s Alpha. The results showed that the overall mean score of Information Ethics was 3.9689, indicating a high category. Privacy obtained the highest mean score (4.0400), followed by Accuracy (3.9760), Property (3.9500), and Accessibility (3.8900). The supporting constructs also showed relatively high descriptive results. These findings reflect respondents’ self-reported awareness and perceptions rather than direct evidence of actual ethical behavior. The findings provide contextual input for strengthening information literacy and responsible AI-use guidelines in higher education.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the relationships between Capital Intensity, Investment Opportunity Set, and Information Asymmetry with Accounting Conservatism in Indonesian property and real-estate firms during the 2020–2024 period. This research aims to provide empirical evidence regarding the determinants of conservative financial reporting practices in an asset-intensive industry.Research Methodology: This study uses secondary data from 23 publicly listed property and real-estate firms in Indonesia during 2020–2024. The data were analyzed using pooled Cochrane–Orcutt regression to address autocorrelation issues and were supported by three sensitivity checks to assess the robustness and consistency of the findings.Results: The findings show that Capital Intensity has a negative and significant association with Accounting Conservatism, contrary to the proposed hypothesis. Meanwhile, Investment Opportunity Set and Information Asymmetry have no significant partial effects, although the predictor variables are jointly informative in the primary model. The coefficient patterns remain consistent across the sensitivity analyses.Conclusions: Asset intensity is the strongest correlate of conservative reporting behavior in this sample, while growth opportunities and market-information variables provide limited explanatory power.Limitations: This study is limited by its short sector-specific panel, as well as the use of accrual-based, CAPBVA, and single-date spread proxies, which may reduce the generalizability of the results.Contributions: This study contributes by identifying a boundary condition for political-cost predictions, demonstrating that balance-sheet preservation incentives may outweigh reporting caution in asset-intensive firms.

Abstract

This study examines the strategic collaboration between marketing management, human resources, and information systems in supporting digital business sustainability in the modern business environment. The rapid development of digital technology requires organizations to integrate marketing strategies, employee competencies, and information system capabilities to maintain competitive advantage and long-term sustainability. The objective of this research is to analyze the influence of marketing strategies, human resource competencies, and information system effectiveness on digital business sustainability. This study applies a quantitative research approach using survey methods involving employees and managers from digital-based companies. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings indicate that strategic collaboration among marketing, human resources, and information systems has a significant positive effect on digital business sustainability. Information systems were found to strengthen organizational communication, improve marketing effectiveness, and enhance employee productivity and innovation. In addition, human resource competency plays an important role in maximizing digital transformation and organizational adaptability. The study contributes theoretically by integrating interdisciplinary perspectives from marketing, human resource management, and information systems into a unified sustainability framework. Practically, the findings provide recommendations for organizations to develop integrated digital strategies that support sustainable business growth and operational effectiveness in the digital era

Abstract

Perhitungan volume dan estimasi biaya pekerjaan struktur pada umumnya masih dilakukan secara manual menggunakan gambar dua dimensi (AutoCAD) dan Microsoft Excel, sehingga rawan terjadi kesalahan pembacaan dan perhitungan volume bangunan yang dirancang. Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi digital di bidang konstruksi saat ini, hadir Building Information Modelling (BIM), yang mampu menghasilkan volume pekerjaan secara otomatis melalui pemodelan tiga dimensi. Penelitian ini menerapkan konsep BIM 5D menggunakan Autodesk Revit 2025 untuk menghitung volume pekerjaan beton dan penulangan, kemudian membandingkannya dengan volume pada Rencana Anggaran Biaya (RAB) konsultan pada Proyek Pembangunan Rumah Kos 2 Lantai di Jalan Kesatriaan Km 8, Kecamatan Balikpapan Utara, Kota Balikpapan. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui hasil perhitungan volume dan biaya menggunakan BIM 5D, serta selisihnya terhadap RAB konsultan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan volume beton dari Revit sebesar 60,31m³ dan RAB konsultan 60,93m³, dengan selisih 0,62m³ (1,03%) dan selisih biaya Rp1.053.768. Volume tulangan dari Revit sebesar 4.689,30kg dan RAB konsultan 4.832,17kg, dengan selisih 142,87kg (3%) dan selisih biaya Rp2.868.503. Selisih volume dan biaya pada kedua pekerjaan tersebut tergolong kecil

Abstract

Seiring pesatnya pembangunan infrastruktur, pemanfaatan teknologi Building Information Modeling (BIM) dinilai lebih efektif dan akurat dibandingkan metode konvensional dalam mengestimasi volume serta biaya proyek. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan kedua metode tersebut secara spesifik pada pekerjaan struktur bawah jembatan, meliputi Abutmen dan Pilecap pada proyek Pembangunan Jembatan Swan Slutung Bentang Menengah, Kecamatan Muara Komam, Kalimantan Timur. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan komparatif melalui pengumpulan data primer berupa dokumentasi foto proyek serta data sekunder seperti Rencana Anggaran Biaya (RAB) dan Detail Engineering Design (DED). Pemodelan BIM 5D dilakukan menggunakan Autodesk Revit 2025 pada elemen struktur abutmen dan pilecap. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa volume beton yang diperoleh melalui BIM sebesar 128,77 m³, sedangkan metode konvensional menunjukkan volume sebesar 132,20 m³, dengan selisih 2,662%. Pada pekerjaan penulangan, volume dari BIM adalah 20.516,46 kg, sementara metode konvensional sebesar 21.538,71 kg, dengan selisih 4,98%. Estimasi biaya dengan BIM sebesar Rp876.835.374,10, lebih rendah dibandingkan metode konvensional sebesar Rp913.817.419,91, dengan penghematan biaya sebesar Rp36.982.045,81 atau 4,22%. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan BIM dapat memberikan hasil perhitungan yang lebih efisien dan akurat, serta berpotensi mengurangi biaya konstruksi secara signifikan.

Abstract

This study explores the potential of using information flow as a spatial generator in urban architecture, through an algorithmic approach that emphasises relational thinking and adaptability in shaping the built environment. Bridging computational design and ecological paradigms, it reframes architecture as a medium for information exchange in the second machine age. The proposed method employs algorithmic processes Cellular Automata and Swarm Intelligence to generate dynamic spatial systems that address the logistical complexities of urban contexts. Applied to real urban sites, the CA-SI workflow reveals aggregation fields, directional gradients, and distributed trajectories that converge into five recurrent network topologies: annular, co-linear, co-vertex, diffused plane, and intersectional plane. These swarm networks prioritise relationships and interactions over isolated forms and foster a self-organising and metabolistic nature of urban networks. The findings indicate that information-driven spatial tendencies interact with and reorganise existing material conditions, which result in a co-constituted physical–digital field understood as multispace. This interplay highlights both the generative potential and interpretive limits of computational abstraction. By integrating modular and scalable components that dynamically respond to spatial and informational demands, the study offers a morphogenetic approach to urban architecture and positions information as a driver of adaptive and interconnected urban ecosystems.

Abstract

The advancements in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in recent times have made the world to become a global village. This phenomenon has also resulted in global pursuit of improvement in quality of education with access to information and the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) becoming important indices for participating in the information age. In like manner, this rapid development in Information and Communication Technology and its applications has introduced new opportunities in architectural education. This paper focuses on the application and relevance of Information and Communication Technology to teaching and learning architecture in Nigeria as a means to squaring up with the global competitiveness in architectural education. It suggests the importance of developing expertise in these applications by architectural educators, so as to carry out and provide creative direction in teaching and learning of architecture. This can bring about improving students’ motivation for active, creative and explorative learning. It concludes with the need for architectural educators in Nigeria, to acquaint themselves with the methods and techniques of application of Information and Communication Technology to teaching and learning of architecture in order to become relevant in this age of globalization.

Abstract

Given its complexity and dynamic nature, the construction sector is beginning to understand how important it is to have efficient information management in order to improve sustainability practices. This study aims to examine the challenges that information management faces in the course of advancing sustainability in the South African construction industry. With the use of structured questionnaires, data were gathered quantitatively from 209 experts, including project managers, engineers, and architects. The study employed mean item scores and exploratory factor analysis (EFA) to identify crucial elements influencing the implementation of information management systems in construction projects. The findings revealed three primary challenges to effective information management which include technical factors, human factors, and legal and security issues. The results provide valuable insights for industry stakeholders, offering guidance on addressing these challenges to achieve more sustainable construction practices.

Abstract

This study aim to examined elementary school teachers’ information text literacy within the framework of Indonesia’s Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM). The study employed a quantitative approach involving 25 elementary school teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using two researcher-developed instruments: an information text literacy questionnaire and an information-text-based test. The instruments were validated through expert judgment and a limited pilot test prior to administration. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and N-Gain to describe teachers’ performance across three competencies: identifying information, understanding information, and evaluating and reflecting on information. The findings showed improvement in concept mastery, by mean score increasing from the pre-test and the post-test. Teachers’ information text literacy also improved across all assessed aspects, with the highest gain found in identifying information (high), followed by evaluating and reflecting (moderate), while understanding information showed the lowest gain (low). In addition, teachers responded positively to the implemented learning design and was categorized as very practical. These findings indicate that teachers were relatively strong in retrieving explicit information, but still needed support in deeper comprehension and integrative meaning construction. This study provides empirical evidence for strengthening teacher professional development in support of AKM-aligned reading literacy.
