Abstract

Buses are one of the means of public transportation and there are also services provided by the Government to the community and their construction must meet standards so that the community can use them. Bus-type public transportation in the city of Semarang only stops at every bus stop. The current problem is that bus stops in the city of Semarang are not friendly to people with disabilities, especially for blind people. They have to wait for the bus to arrive then ask people around the identity of the bus that is coming. This study aims to build a bus arrival information system using a combination of Arduino Uno, Raspberry Pi 3B, LCD, nRF24L01 module, LED, Speaker, Google Text to Speech and Firebase Cloud Messaging. We perform the simulation by analyzing the transceiver connectivity on the bus to the information system transceiver and providing the obstacles in between. In addition, we also tested the maximum distance of the transceiver device on the bus stop connected to the router. Furthermore, the information systems usage time at bus stops using various power banks was also tested. We found that the transceiver on the bus and the information system transceiver was connected to a maximum distance of 40 meters and was not affected by rainy weather. In addition, the system execution time is highly dependent on the internet connection used on the information system transceiver. Meanwhile, the maximum distance between the information system and the router is also very dependent on the transceiver capability of the router and the information system. Furthermore, the time to use the information system using the Power Bank indicates that the greater the power bank, the longer the information system will be used. This shows that this system is suitable for use by the blind in using public transportation and becomes the basis for research in helping the blind.

Abstract

This study aims to Determine: (1) differences in learning motivation of fifth grade students at Prajawinangun Wetan 2 Public Elementary School, Cirebon Regency before and after Obtaining ICT-based learning; (2) there is an increase of in the learning motivation of students in grade V at SD Negeri 2 Prajawinangun Wetan, Cirebon Regency. The design of this study was pre-experimental design (non-design) with one-group pretest-posttest design models. The Data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive analysis. The research subjects were all students of grade V of SD Negeri 2 Prajawinangun Wetan, amounting to 27 students. Data collection using questionnaire guidelines, and observation guidelines with a 5 Likert scale model attitude. Based on the test results indicate a change in learning motivation of students before and after Obtaining ICT-based learning. This can be seen from the results of the N-Gain test analysis of 0.68 with the medium category on the questionnaire sheet, and 0.68 with the medium category on the observation sheet. The hypothesis that has been prepared has proven that the application of ICT-based learning can improve students' learning motivation

Abstract

This research is based on the lack of understanding of students in writing important information in the text. This research was aimed to determine the ability of primary school students in writing important information by using the method of 5W1H through the google form. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The instrument used to measure the understanding of the students in writing important information is a test given through google form. Collecting data was given to 39 students of class 6 primary school. The sample was conducted by purposive sampling method. The Object of the research is grouped into four categories, they are understanding the whole, understanding the partial, misunderstanding, and not understanding. From the results of this research, it can be concluded that students can mostly understand partially, one-tenth of them cannot understand, and a fifth of them misunderstood, and only one-sixth of them understand the use of 5W1H in writing important information. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the quality of teaching and learning about the method of writing important information in a text at the primary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to create a Web-based Tourism Information System. In conveying about tourism, promotion is still carried out through the mass media of television, newspapers, banners and baleho. The impact is that tourists still find it difficult to determine the planning of a tour in the city of Pagar Alam. The system development method used is the Web Engineering method with five stages of Customer Communication, Planning, Modeling, Construction and Deployment. Therefore, the researcher will create a web-based tourism information system in order to make it easier for tourists to find information such as tourist attraction data, hotel data and restaurant data as well as places that are connected to the google map. With the existence of a web-based information system can help spread promotions to tourists widely to increase tourist visits to the City of Pagar Alam.

Abstract

The development of information technology has a significant impact on various important aspects of life. Apart from positive impacts, there are also negative impacts that are important to know and anticipate to prevent major damage and losses. On a broad scale, namely at the national level, the development of information technology can also affect the development of national defense as it is known that the nature of Indonesia's defense is total defense, which is prepared to face the total war. Based on the explanation above, the purpose of this study is to examine the impact of the development of information technology on the implementation of Indonesia's total war strategy. The approach used is qualitative phenomenology with research data in the form of secondary data collected using literature studies. The data is then analyzed using qualitative analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that the development of information technology has both positive and negative impacts. These impacts encourage the need for changes and adjustments to the total war strategy implemented by Indonesia. This is important to do so that Indonesia can have a stronger defense in preparation for a total war that may occur in the future.

Abstract

Drug abuse is a problem that affects almost every country in the world including Indonesia. In the long term, it has the potential to disrupt competitiveness, weaken national resilience, and can hinder the progress of a nation. North Sumatra is a province that has the highest prevalence of drug abusers in Indonesia,  which none of the villages in this Province is free from drug abuse. The North Sumatera Province also has the highest number of drug abusers undergoing rehabilitation at the BNN Rehabilitation Center. The use of geospatial technology can help understand the phenomenon of drug abuse by area or spatial. One of the geospatial technology that commonly uses is the Geographic Information System (GIS). This study aims to show that GIS can be used in mapping drug-prone areas in North Sumatra based on North Sumatran people undergoing drug rehabilitation. The method used is a retrospective based on secondary data and spatial statistics in GIS. The environment prone to drug abuse based on the number of people undergoing drug rehabilitation at the BNN Rehabilitation Center from North Sumatra is divided into 3 zones based on the number of clients distributed in BNN Rehabilitation Center, namely red, yellow and green. Red zone 3 cities/districts namely Deli Serdang, Medan, and Binjai with 9 sub-districts namely Percut Sei Tuan, Medan Amplas, Medan Helvetia, Medan Tembung, Medan Perjuangan, Binjai Utara, Medan Sunggal, Medan Johor, Medan Timur. The yellow area has 25 districts, the green area is 103 districts. In a conclusion, the Geographic Information System (GIS) is a technology that can be used to map drug-prone areas.

Abstract

Rindu Hati sub-watershed is located in District of Central Bengkulu, Bengkulu Province, that has flat until montainous topography with various slope and annual rainfall up to 4,032 mm year-1 which possible causes erosion. This research was aimed to analyze soil erosion at Rindu Hati sub-watershed based on the Universal Soil Loss Equation formula, using remote sensing imagery data and by applying GIS technique. USLE method were uses five parameters, those were length and slope factor, rainfall erosivity factor, crop management factor and land conservation , and soil erodibility factor. An overlay analysis has been conducted to obtain the erosion. Then, the result is overlaid with soil depth map to get the level of erosion hazard, which is classified into: very light, light, moderate, heavily, and very heavily. The results showed that the total erosion was 12,410,650.59 tons ha-1 year-1, while its level of erosion hazard were very light (15 tons ha-1 year-1) covering an area of 2,983 ha spreading over community agricultural areas and forest areas, the rate of light erosion (> 15-60 tons ha-1 year-1) has the largest area of covering an area of 10,410.05 ha which scattered in plantation areas having flat topography, moderate erosion rates (> 60-180 tons ha-1 year-1) of 1,317.33 ha spread over land areas with shrub land use and relatively flat topography, heavily erosion rates (> 180- 480 tons ha-1 year-1) covering 1,735.48 ha spread over land with shrub land use but has a hilly topography and very heavily erosion rates (> 480 tons ha-1 year-1) covering 2,700.42 ha located in the mining area. Erosion potential rate mapping will be very helpful in determining good and appropirate land management and conservation in the study area.

Abstract

The financial information system for local Government or SIPKD regulation in Indonesia are mandatory. There have been several innovations on it, but in practice mostly they were not effective in term of user acceptance due to several obstacles. This study investigates the modified Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) theory proposed with the institutional strengthening theory on the user performance of SIPKD. Supported by the sample of 556 SIPKD users from the Lampung Provincial Government, the results showed that all constructs are associated in accordance with the theory and concept of TAM. The quality of training had a dominant effect on the ease of use and usefulness. Related to the reinforcement theory, the results showed that facilitating conditions and incentives affect the performance of SIPKD users. Meanwhile, institutional pressure did not show its role to improve the performance of users. The main findings revealed that the TAM model becomes more perfect when imbued with the reinforcement theory. These results suggest that information system acceptance is higher when reinforcement theory is able to manipulate the cognitive of users to further improve their individual performance.JEL Classification E60; H83; M48

Abstract

Abstrak: Pelaksanaan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini berdasarkan atas realitas situasi komunikasi dan informasi saat pandemi COVID-19 Indonesia. Literasi Media dan Informasi menjadi penting dilaksanakan untuk menumbuhkan dan memberikan pengetahuan dalam menyikapi pemberitaan di media massa serta pemanfaatan media dalam berbagai bidang aktifitas masyarakat. Kegiatan ini melibatkan kelompok masyarakat Persit Kartika Chandra Kirana Ranting 3 Ajen Cabang 3 Spers Kodam III Siliwangi dan Persit Kartika Chandra Kirana Bataliyon Armed Cabang XXXIX Kodam Siliwangi sebagai mitra, mahasiswa dan tiga orang dosen sebagai tim PkM sesuai dengan kepakaran anggota pengusul pada bidangnyanya masing-masing (Bidang Media Massa, Bidang Komunikasi Lintas Budaya, dan Bidang Komunikasi Pembangunan). Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menggunakan pendekatan sosialisasi. Hasil kegiatan mengindikasikan (1). Mitra PkM telah memiliki pemahaman dasar tentang media dan informasi sebagai saluran komunikasi dan alat untuk pengembangan individu dan masyarakat sehingga dapat menggunakan media dengan bertanggungjawab serta memiliki sikap positif dalam pemanfaatan media informasi (2). Mampu untuk berdaya dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemampuan literasi media.Abstract:  The implementation of community service / “Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat” (PkM) is based on the reality of the communication and information situation during the Indonesian COVID-19 pandemic. Media and information literacy is important to be implemented to grow and provide knowledge in responding to mass media coverage and the use of media in various fields of community activity. This activity involves the community group of Persit Kartika Chandra Kirana Branch 3 Ajen Branch 3 Spers Kodam III Siliwangi and Persit Kartika Chandra Kirana Bataliyon Armed Branch XXXIX Kodam Siliwangi, students and three lecturers as the PkM team according to the expertise of the proposing members in their respective fields (Mass Media, Cross-Cultural Communication, and Development Communication). The method used in “Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat” (PkM) is using the socialization approach. Results of activities (1). Community group of Persit Kartika Chandra Kirana have a basic understanding of media and information as a communication channel and a tool’s for individual and community development so that they can use the media responsibly and have a positive attitude in the use of information media (2). Able to be empowered in increasing media literacy knowledge and skills.
