Abstract

Critical thinking skills are one of the important competencies of the 21st century that need to be developed from the elementary school level. In practice, improving students' critical thinking skills does not only depend on the learning process in the classroom, but is also influenced by teacher competence, school human resource management, and collaboration between parents and the school. This study aims to describe the development of teacher competence, human resource management, and parent collaboration in an effort to improve students' critical thinking skills at SDN Perigi 01 Tangerang Selatan. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. The research subjects included the principal, teachers, students, and parents. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that teacher competency development is carried out through training, working group discussions, academic supervision, and the development of learning tools that are more oriented towards active learning. Good teacher competence contributes to teachers' ability to implement learning strategies such as discussion, problem solving, inquiry, and providing open-ended questions that encourage students to analyze, argue, and draw conclusions. From a human resource management perspective, schools have implemented the functions of planning, organizing, coaching, and evaluating teachers, although further strengthening of the sustainability of professional development programs and follow-up supervision is still needed.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the utilization of facilities and infrastructure and their impact on the quality of learning at SDN Pengasinan 01. The study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews with the principal, teachers, students, and education staff, and documentation studies of inventory data and learning documents. The results indicate that facilities and infrastructure at SDN Pengasinan 01 are generally available, including classrooms, a library, sanitation facilities, teaching aids, and learning technology devices. However, their utilization in the learning process is not optimal and varies between classes and teachers, with basic facilities being used routinely while the library, teaching aids, and technology are used more incidentally. Appropriate utilization of facilities and infrastructure has been shown to have a positive impact on the quality of learning, including increasing student motivation, participation, and understanding of the material, as well as encouraging teachers to implement more varied and interactive learning methods, as confirmed by various previous research findings on the influence of learning facilities on learning quality. This study also identified barriers in the form of limited physical facilities and facilities, teacher competence and time in using media, and budget and external support limitations. This aligns with other studies on the impact of limited infrastructure on declining learning quality.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the principal as asupervisor in improving teacher performance and identifies the factors that support and hinder the implementation of supervision at SMK Multi Mekanik Masmur in Pekanbaru. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation. Informants in this study included the school principal, vice principal, and teachers. The results indicate that the school principal carries out supervisory functions through several activities, such as classroom supervision, monitoring instructional materials, providing professional development for teachers, and offering feedback on the learning process. The school principal also serves as an educator, manager, administrator, innovator, and motivator in efforts to improve the quality of teacher performance. In practice, supervision helps teachers improve their teaching methods, mastery of subject matter, and classroom management, as well as enhance their professional responsibility in learning activities. Factors supporting supervision include effective communication, cooperation between school leaders and teachers, and the availability of motivation and opportunities for professional development, such as training and subject-specific teacher working groups (MGMP). Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include limited facilities and infrastructure, the continued presence of contract teachers with inconsistent performance, a lack of discipline among some teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of principal leadership and teacher performance on student learning achievement at MTs Persis Cibatu Garut, addressing the decline in exam scores and low affective dimensions. A descriptive-analytical quantitative approach was employed. The research population included all teachers, utilizing validated and reliable questionnaire instruments. Data analysis involved simple and multiple linear regression, alongside classical assumption tests. Principal leadership (74.44%), teacher performance (83.22%), and learning achievement (73.77%) are in the good category. Leadership has a significant effect on teacher performance (R² = 13,9%) and learning achievement R² = 47,2%, Beta = 0,687). Teacher performance also has a significant effect on learning achievement (R² = 47,2%, Beta = 0,687). Simultaneously, both variables contribute 64.2% to student learning achievement F calculated = 25,947 > F table = 3,15 This phenomenon confirms that managerial collaboration and optimization of teachers' pedagogical competence are the ultimate keys to boosting graduate quality. This study provides a specific empirical mapping for private Islamic schools, identifying transactional leadership aspects and students' affective dimensions as critical operational points that require sustained strategic interventions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of group guidance services with the Johari Window technique on increasing self-disclosure of class X students of MAS Darussalam Pinagar West Pasaman. The low self-openness of students can be seen from the lack of courage in expressing opinions, feelings, personal experiences, and difficulties in establishing effective social relationships. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method through a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study subjects amounted to 10 students who were selected using purposive sampling techniques based on low levels of self-openness. The research instrument is in the form of a self-disclosure questionnaire of 32 items that have been tested for validity and reliability. Treatment was provided through group guidance services with the Johari Window technique for five sessions. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Paired Sample t-test with the help of SPSS. The results of the study showed an increase in students' self-openness after participating in group guidance services with the Johari Window technique. The average self-openness score increased from 69.6 during the pretest to 104.5 during the posttest. Before treatment, 70% of students were in the low category and 30% in the very low category, while after treatment 50% of students were in the medium category and 50% in the high category. The results of the hypothesis test showed a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), which means that there is a significant influence of group guidance services with the Johari Window technique on increasing students' self-openness.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Digital Total Quality Management (Digital TQM) in Islamic Elementary Schools (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah) in Wedung District, Demak Regency, with a focus on organizational culture, managerial barriers, and their implications for student achievement. The research is motivated by the increasing demands for digital transformation in educational quality management that have not been accompanied by adequate organizational readiness and managerial capacity. The study used a qualitative approach with a multi-site case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies. Informants consisted of madrasah principals, teachers, madrasah operators, and supervisors selected through purposive and snowball sampling techniques. Data analysis used the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña which includes data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that commitment to quality, transformational leadership, collaboration, and openness to innovation are the main factors supporting the implementation of Digital TQM. Conversely, limited digital competency, technological infrastructure, budget, and resistance to change are the main obstacles. The implementation of Digital TQM encourages the digitization of administration, data-driven decision-making, and the strengthening of more systematic quality evaluation. Furthermore, Digital TQM contributes to improved learning quality, student engagement, and academic achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformational leadership model of the principal in developing a religious ecosystem through the Tahfidz Al-Qur’an program and its contribution to improving students’ non-academic achievements at SD Muhammadiyah Pucang Gading. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observations, and documentation involving the principal, Tahfidz teachers, classroom teachers, students, and parents. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the principal implemented transformational leadership through four dimensions, namely idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. These dimensions were reflected in the integration of the Tahfidz program into the school curriculum, the establishment of religious habits, teacher professional development, and strong collaboration with parents. The implementation of these strategies successfully created a religious ecosystem characterized by Qur’anic memorization culture, worship habituation, exemplary behavior, and a supportive learning environment. As a result, students demonstrated improvements in non-academic achievements, including success in religious competitions, enhanced discipline, self-confidence, responsibility, and leadership skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze school partnerships with the business and industrial world (DUDI) in improving graduates' work competencies by strengthening work ethics at Vocational High Schools (SMK) in Demak Regency. The research was motivated by the persistent gap between the competencies of vocational high school graduates and the needs of the workforce, particularly in aspects of work ethics such as discipline, responsibility, and adaptability. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The research informants included the principal, the vice principal for industrial relations, productive teachers, fieldwork instructors, industry partners, and students who had participated in industrial work practices. Data analysis employed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which encompasses data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that school partnerships with DUDI are realized through fieldwork practices, curriculum synchronization, guest lecturers from industry, and graduate recruitment. Strengthening work ethics is achieved through the instillation of an industrial work culture that emphasizes discipline, responsibility, cooperation, communication, and initiative. Research findings indicate that work ethic plays a crucial role in improving students' technical and non-technical competencies and strengthening graduates' job readiness. This research underscores the importance of ongoing collaboration between schools and the industrial and business sectors (DUDI) in producing competent, character-driven graduates who are well-suited to the needs of the workforce.
