Abstract

Rokat Tase’ tradition is a cultural heritage of coastal communities that not only contains traditional and spiritual values, but also various educational values in social life. This tradition, which is still preserved by the people of Kalibuntu Village, Probolinggo Regency, symbolizes gratitude, togetherness, and the concern of coastal communities for their culture and surrounding environment. This study aims to analyze the educational values contained in the Rokat Tase’ tradition, the forms of implementation of educational values in the social life of coastal communities, and their relevance to Social Studies (IPS) learning. This research used a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation involving informants consisting of the village head, community leaders, religious leaders, fishermen, Social Studies teachers, and the younger generation. The results showed that the Rokat Tase’ tradition contains religious values, mutual cooperation, togetherness, preservation of local culture, and environmental awareness. These values are implemented in the social life of the community through mutual assistance, deliberation, social solidarity, and the preservation of coastal cultural traditions. In addition, the Rokat Tase’ tradition is relevant to Social Studies learning because it can be used as a contextual learning resource related to the social, cultural, and environmental life of the community.

The results of the study show that the School Food Care Program has applied the 3 SBM principles, thus contributing to improving the quality of the school, indicated by the creation of a comfortable and conducive learning environment, fostering environmental care character, and strengthening the school's image through the achievements of the National Adiwiyata School 2025. However, the evaluation process depends on the situation since there are no success indicators written down in any document. The new thing about this research is that there are still few studies that discuss the application of MBS in managing school programs that use land in a complex way, including cultivation, environmental management, and waste utilization.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of school management in shaping student character based on the local wisdom value of "Maja Labo Dahu" at the Al-Kautsar Islamic Boarding School in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). The value of "Maja Labo Dahu," which conveys shame and fear of committing acts contrary to religious, customary, and moral norms, is an important foundation for student character formation. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design to explore in-depth the managerial role of the madrasah principal in internalizing the value of "Maja Labo Dahu." The results indicate that school management plays a crucial role in shaping student character through planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising functions based on the Maja Labo Dahu value. The role of school management is evident in policy-making, human resource management, fostering school culture, and strengthening cooperation between the madrasah, the boarding school, and parents. The value of Maja Labo Dahu is internalized through teacher role models, discipline, the instilling of religious attitudes, responsibility, honesty, and compliance with applicable rules within the madrasah environment. This study concludes that effective school management can integrate the values of Maja Labo Dahu local wisdom into various educational programs, thereby shaping the character of students who are religious, disciplined, responsible, honest, and have good morals. Therefore, strengthening school management based on local wisdom is a crucial strategy in building student character at the Al-Kautsar Islamic Boarding School in West Nusa Tenggara.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the principal's transformational leadership practices in fostering school innovation at SMKN 2 Buduran Sidoarjo. The study employs a qualitative approach with a single-case study design. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, and subsequently analyzed using the Miles-Huberman interactive model. The results indicate that the principal's transformational leadership is manifested through four key dimensions: leading by example, communicating innovation, encouraging teacher involvement, and mentoring the school community to realize their potential. Leading by example is reflected in the principal's discipline, direct involvement in school activities, and consistency between words and actions. Communication is facilitated through meetings, briefings, digital media, and participatory forums to ensure the entire school community understands the direction of school development. The principal also fosters teacher involvement through training, recognition, opportunities for innovation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Furthermore, continuous mentoring is provided to teachers and students to cultivate their potential, creativity, and achievements. The findings demonstrate that transformational leadership plays a pivotal role in building an innovative culture, strengthening collaboration among the school community, and realizing the "Gema Sakinah Wujudkan Sekolah Cak-Cek" program, which has led to improved educational service quality, enhanced industry partnerships, and greater school achievements.
