Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of principal supervision through a directive approach to improving teacher performance in the learning process through a literature review. Educational supervision is an essential function of the principal that directly impacts the quality of learning. Based on the conceptual framework of Glickman, Gordon, and Ross-Gordon (2007), the directive approach is divided into two forms, namely directive control and directive informational, which are applied based on the level of commitment and level of abstraction of the teacher. The method used is a literature study by analyzing various scientific sources in the form of national journals, international journals, and relevant academic books. The results of the study indicate that the directive approach is effective when applied to novice teachers or teachers experiencing professional difficulties, where the principal plays an active role in providing direction, feedback, and clear performance standards. The implementation of targeted directive supervision has been proven to improve pedagogical competence, work motivation, and overall teacher performance. This study concludes that the effectiveness of directive supervision is highly dependent on the principal's sensitivity in diagnosing teacher needs and the consistency of the implementation of supervisory follow-up.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of strengthening students' religious literacy through the instillation of Nahdlatul Ulama’s amaliah values, particularly through activities integrated between character habituation and reading activities. The Character Habituation of Aswaja (PKA) activities at MI NU Walisongo Sumberrejo are one of the efforts to improve students' religious literacy skills while shaping a religious character based on the values of Ahlussunnah wal Jama’ah. This study aims to describe the implementation of PKA, the forms of religious literacy activities carried out, and their impact on students' ability to read, understand, and practice religious teachings. The research method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research results show that PKA activities are carried out routinely every morning before learning through literacy-based religious activities, such as reading prayers together, sholawat, tahlil, diba’, istighotsah, as well as readings in prayer that are done repeatedly and in a directed manner. These activities have been proven to improve students' reading skills, broaden religious understanding, and encourage the internalization of the values of tawassuth, tawazun, tasamuh, and i’tidal in daily life.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the innovation of using case cards in teaching Akidah Akhlak (Islamic beliefs and morals) at MAN 1 Mandailing Natal. Case cards are designed to present real-life problems related to moral values, thereby encouraging students to think critically and actively participate in the learning process. This study uses a qualitative approach with a classroom action research design. Data collection techniques include observation, student response questionnaires, learning outcome tests, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the use of case card media can increase student activity, facilitate understanding of religious ethics material, and foster a reflective attitude towards moral issues in everyday life. Thus, case card media can be used as an alternative innovative learning media in religious ethics learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the perceptions of economics teachers regarding the development of digital technology, perceptions regarding Governor's Instruction Number 8 of 2025 concerning the prohibition on the use of mobile phones in learning, and teachers' strategies in dealing with this policy. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study method at SMA Negeri 13, Jambi City. The research informants consisted of the principal, the vice principal for curriculum, and the economics teacher. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using NVivo using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. Research shows that economics teachers have a positive perception of the development of digital technology because it can improve learning effectiveness, expand access to information, and support students' digital literacy. However, teachers expressed a dilemma regarding the policy banning cell phone use. On the one hand, the policy is considered capable of improving student discipline and focus on learning. On the other hand, the policy limits the use of technology to support economics learning. To overcome these limitations, teachers implemented various strategies, such as utilizing alternative learning media, utilizing school technology facilities, implementing contextual learning, and assigning digital-based assignments outside of school hours. Examining economics teachers' perceptions of the newly implemented mobile phone ban policy in Jambi Province. This specific study examined economics teachers' perceptions of Jambi Governor's Instruction Number 8 of 2025.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the readiness of inclusive education service planning under the Independent Curriculum at Al Ikhlas Islamic Junior High School. The study used a qualitative case study approach, using observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies of school leaders, teachers, and learning planning documents. The results indicate that the school has a normative initial commitment to inclusive education, reflected in its vision and mission and acceptance of students with special needs. However, operational policies and SOPs for inclusive services have not been developed in detail. Curriculum and learning planning already refer to the Independent Curriculum through the development of Learning Outcomes, Learning Objective Flows, teaching modules, and the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project. However, the integration of inclusive principles, including the development of Individual Learning Programs, learning differentiation, adaptive assessment, and the use of accessible teaching materials and media, remains limited. From a human resources perspective, teachers demonstrate a positive commitment and have participated in Independent Curriculum training, but specific competencies for inclusive education are still low, and the school does not yet have a dedicated assistant teacher. Learning infrastructure is generally adequate, but disability-friendly facilities and support services (special counseling, collaboration with psychologists/therapists, and structured partnerships with parents) are suboptimal.

Abstract

This research aims to explore how Big Data can increase effectiveness in decision making in the education sector. The method used is a literature study, where data is collected from various trusted sources, such as scientific journals and research reports that specifically discuss the topic of Big Data in education. The data collection stage involves searching, selecting and grouping relevant literature. After the data is collected, analysis is carried out by identifying the main findings that contribute to the research objectives, through steps such as grouping data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the use of Big Data in education can have a significant impact, both in improving student 2 learning outcomes through personalization and academic monitoring, as well as in supporting more efficient education management through data-based decision making. However, despite the large potential benefits, the application of Big Data in education still faces challenges, such as technological limitations, a lack of experts skilled in data analysis, and resistance to change among educators and management. To overcome this challenge, there is a need to improve technological infrastructure, develop training programs for educators and staff, and apply change management theory to help the transition to a data-based system. In this way, it is hoped that the benefits of Big Data can be optimized to achieve more effective and sustainable educational goals
