Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the increased activity of student learning and mathematical communication after applying contextual approach (CTL). This research is a classroom action research (PTK) conducted three cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. VIIIl subjects were students enrolled in the 2nd half of the school year 2015/2016 the number of students 17 The data in this study were collected through observation sheets and test mathematical communication skills. Data analysis technique used is deskiptifs analysis results showed that learning with contextual approach to the material can Circles menin mathematical communication activity and Capacity of students in class VIII SMPN 44 Sijunjung. Student activity records the results of group discussions make conclusions and conduct relevant activities reached the category of excellent, student activity noted the important essence of learning materials asking questions to the teacher asked to give an explanation to a friend in the study group in presenting the results of focus group discussions reaching both categories Activities answered questions students respond to teachers to respond and investigate student activity worksheets read watch on finding solutions achieve better value category. The average value obtained mathematical communication test is 81,15 with the percentase of completeness reach 82%

Abstract

His research begins from phenomena of extended damage that result from flooding in DAS Timbalun. This research is purposed to analyze level of hazard and risk caused by flood and to formulate direction of policies for flood control in Bungus Teluk Kabung district, Padang. This research was descriptive and method using survey with sample area. Unit mapping was unit land that resulted from map overlay of land shape, slope, and land utilization. Unit land in research area was varied so that sample technique used here was stratified random sampling. Research findings show that: (1) level of flood hazard in research area is divided into two zones that are (a) medium level of flood hazard (5,383 Ha), (b) high level of flood hazard (1,170 Ha); (2) level of flood risk in research area is divided into three zones that are (a) low level of flood risk (5,229 Ha), (b) medium level of flood risk (219 Ha) and (c) high level of flood risk (1,035 Ha), (3) direction of flood control policies is prioritized in four alternative policies that are: (a) controlling flood rate of flow by establishing flood embankment to reduce flood risk, (b) improving overall drainage system to reduce level of flood risk, (c) arranging zones of flood level to establish early warning system, and (d) preventing housing development in zone of high level of flood hazard

Abstract

This study originated from the phenomenon of earthquakes that occurred in 2009 measuring 7.6 SR to swallow a lot of casualties. During the evacuation process is much buildup period because it is not like the evacuation route in the desert city. The purpose of this study was to analyze the spatial structure of North Padang related tsunami evacuation route and evaluate the feasibility of a tsunami evacuation route in the district of North Padang. This study was classified as a descriptive study using data from QuickBird Imagery interpretation in 2012 with the help of software ArcGIS 10.1, Quickbird image analysis to obtain administrative data, road networks, tsunami evacuation route, tsunami hazard zone through field surveys and analyzes BAPPEDA Kogami. Other supporting data obtained from the study of documentation and interviews related to research and population data from the BPS Padang. The results showed that (1) The structure of the existing space in the district of North Padang including the hazard of the tsunami, because there are many potholes and the condition of the road width of less than 10 meters. (2) evacuation path tsunami in North Padang still considered unfit as an evacuation route for tsunami evacuation on each line are point barrier which will cause congestion.

Abstract

This research began from issues of the low Problem solving skills abilities students of class X SMAN Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan.. This research is a quasi experimental design of The Randomized Posttest Only Control Group Design. The population in this research is all students of class X SMAN Pesisir Selatan. The sampling technique used is Random Sampling. Samples of this research are the students of class X SMAN 2 Lengayang in the class X.4 as the experimental class and class X.1 as the control class. There are some conclusions that can be acquired based on the results of research and discussion. First, the students which use PBI have higher problem solving skills than students that use the conventional learning. Second, problem solving high ability students that using PBI model of learning higher than students using the conventional learning.Third, the starting students mathematical problem solving ability is medium and the students which use PBI higher than students using conventional learning. Fourth, the mathematical problem solving ability of low level students that use PBI models less than students using the conventional learning.Fifth, there is no interaction between the model of learning and the prior knowledge of students in influencing the problem solving mathematical.

Abstract

Assessment tool that used in the form paper and pencil test has not been able to assess students ability for whole. The purpose this study is to produce assesment tool based on class for bangun ruang sisi datar which is valid,practical and effective. The tool is expected to assess students ability for whole. The research conducted was a kind of research and development using a 4-D model consists of four stages, namely: 1) define, 2) design, 3) development, and 4) dissemination. Mathematics education, elementary education, and language experts examined the validation of the tool. The tool practicality was investigated by observing the lesson, filling questionnaire by the student, and conducting interviews with the students and teachers. The tool effectiveness was know from the learning activities and learning outcomes of the students. Finally, the data collected was analyzed descriptively. The result of the research showed that bangun ruang sisi datar tool generated is valid in terms of content and construct for the grade eighth junior high school students. The tool is practical as well since it is easy, clear, and can be used without problems. It can be concluded that the assesment tool based on classbangun ruang sisi datar is valid, practical, and effective

Abstract

This research was conducted due to the students’ conceptual understanding in class VIII of MTsN in Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan was still low. This problem could be seen from the result of observation done to the students and interview done to mathematics teachers in MTsN in Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. To overcome the problem, generative learning model was applied. The purpose of this research was to reveal the effect of using generative learning model on the students’ conceptual understanding. This was a quasi experimental research. The data collected was analyzed by using t’ test and Mann Whitney U test. Based on the result of data analysis, it was figured out that conceptual understanding of the students taught by using generative learning model was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the contribution Designing Learning Ability Learning Effectiveness Against Lecturer STKIP-PGRI West Sumatra. The hypothesis of the study is a contribution to effective learning capabilities designed an instructional faculty PGRI-STKIP West Sumatra, West. This study uses a total sampling involving subjects were 71 lecturers. They are professors and lecturers PNSD collected through questionnaires and student grades. The data collected is then analyzed statistically using correlation analysis and regresi.Hasil analysis showed that: The ability to design learning has a significant contribution to the effectiveness of learning lecturer PGRI-STKIP West Sumatra amounting to 35.5%, based on above findings, it can be concluded that the ability to design learning contribute to the effectiveness of learning lecturer STKIP PGRI Sumatra.

Abstract

Professional school leadership to contribute to the realization of 11 characteristics of effective schools in SMA Negeri Padang City as much as 58.5 The purpose of this study was to evaluate the stage of effective school performance based on 11 characteristics of effective schools by Mortimore (1995) as well as to evaluate the level of correlation between individual characteristics of effective school leadership and contribution to the school principals effectively. The research sample set of 16 schools with a number of leaders of 60 people and the number of teachers as many as 105 people. Determination of the number of teachers as much as seven to 10 people for each school selected based on the views Halphin (1957). Diperolehi quantitative data through a set of instruments on characteristics of effective schools by 11 Mortimore (1995). Data were analyzed descriptively using frequency, min score, percentage and standard deviation and inferential statistics (Pearson correlation, simple linear regression). The findings show stage school performance effectively SMA keseluruan Padang City in the view of principals and teachers are at a very high stage. There is a significant correlation between the stage of high school leadership professional with the realization of 11 overall characteristics of % and the other percentage contributed by other variabel s that are not involved in this study. School leadership is an important faktor for the realization of 11 characteristics of effective schools in SMA Negeri Padang.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of instructional leadership in improving the quality of education in an Integrated Islamic High School in Balikpapan City. The main focus of the research is on instructional leadership process, school environment condition, and culture creation to improve education quality. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interview, observation, and document analysis. The results showed that the instructional leadership process in Integrated Islamic High School includes the implementation of vision and mission based on Islamic values, continuous learning analysis and monitoring, and intensive support and supervision from the principal. The school environment, supported by an adaptive curriculum and excellent programs, as well as adequate facilities, creates a supportive work environment and improves the overall quality of education. In addition, the school culture formed through open communication, collaboration between educators and the example of the principal, creates a conducive and productive learning atmosphere for students. The findings of this study also provide practical recommendations for similar schools to improve the quality of education through inclusive and religious values-oriented leadership strategies.

Abstract

Research by UNESCO shows that around 50% of the world's population does not have access to the internet, which is a major barrier to the application of technology in education. In today's digital age, there are great advances in technology that enable educational innovation and improved learning quality. However, technology implementation requires comprehensive and inclusive policies that consider technological, environmental, political, economic and social aspects. The purpose of this study is to study, understand and explain the importance of technology in education; and to make an analysis of strategies that use technology to make educational policies. This study uses a qualitative method with a PESTEL analysis approach and descriptive analytics to elaborate on this. The secondary data used in this study came from government reports, publications of educational institutions, scientific articles and other relevant official documents. The results show that PESTEL analysis is a useful technique for making technology-based education plans. Technology infrastructure, various trainings, and the effectiveness of technology adoption in education require adequate political and budgetary support, as well as positive community and academic support.
