Abstract

Flapper's phenomenon appeared in the 1920s in line with the feminist achievement on women's suffrage. Industrialism opened the possibility for vistas of young American generations at that time to undergo a good member of changes both in moral and manners. The characteristics of flappers are reflected in literary works by Fitzgerald, an American famous novelist. In achieving the objective of this research, a qualitative method is applied by the way of library research - collecting data from both primary and secondary sources. The former, This Side of Paradise (1919), a novel telling about the young generation, The Great Gatsby (1925) and Tender is The Night, both describing the maturity of the flappers. The outcome of the research proves that there is a similarity, in moral and manners, between the flappers in Fitzgerald's fictions and those in reality during the 1920s. The new values differed from the old ones which were maintained by the cult of true womanhood, especially in concern with those young generations performances, manners, and morals. The media encouraged the development of the new values. There is also a sense of paradox: on one hand Fitzgerald implicitly tended to spread out the moral and manners of flappers, but on the other hand, he criticizes them.

The study is a descriptive qualitative research where data is collected by recordings, transcribing and identifying pronunciation difficulties. Based on the findings, factors such as intereference, the differences in the sound system in the two languages affect the teachers pronunciation. It is evident in the data the teachers of PAUD experienced difficulties in pronouncing the consonant phonemes /p/, /k/, /g/, /d/, /s/, //, and the vowel phonemes /?/, //. Diphthongs and stress are also a source of constraint. Keywords: interference, phonemes, diphthongs.

Abstract

This paper reveals research findings about the effect of E-learning experiences on student learning outcomes felt for Mathematics Economics courses. This study examines perceived learning outcomes in terms of effectiveness, number and productivity of learning in the context of E-learning. The participants were undergraduate students at the School of Economis EKUITAS. The results are interpreted using quantitative and verification research approaches. The results show that the E-learning experience of students is significantly correlated with learning process, and have indirect effect on perceived learning outcomes. This study uses a learning model developed by Biggs and Moore. Specific recommendations for practitioners are also given, and their implications for educators are discussed. Finally, suggestions for further research on E-learning are provided.

Abstract

This study examines the improvement of teacher creativity which is driven by the visionary leadership strength of the principal and teacher job satisfaction. The survey method with the correlational approach was used in this study to describe the strong relationship between teacher creativity as the dependent variable with the visionary leadership of the principal and teacher satisfaction as an independent variable. The population in this study were all permanent teachers of foundation  Private Vocational High Schools in Parungkuda Sukabumi District. Samples were taken using a proportional random sampling technique totaling 96 teachers. The data analysis technique of the research results consisted of the first, statistical description and the second by using inferential statistics to test the hypothesis. The results showed that: (1) there was a very significant positive relationship between Principal Visionary Leadership and Teacher Creativity with a simple linear regression equation Ŷ = 89.33 + 0.32 X1 and the correlation coefficient value ry.1 = 0.217. The coefficient of determination r2y.1 = 0.217 means that the Visionary Leadership of the Principal (X1) contributes to the teacher's creativity by 16.50%; (2) there is a very significant positive relationship between Job Satisfaction with teacher creativity with a simple linear regression equation Ŷ = 88.48 + 0.31 X2 and the correlation coefficient ry.2 = 0.319, and the coefficient of determination r2y.2 = 0.122 which means that the contribution of Job Satisfaction (X2) to the creativity of teachers is 20.46%. (3) there is a very significant positive relationship between Principal Visionary Leadership and Job Satisfaction together with teacher creativity with multiple linear regression equations 88 = 77.25 + 0.21 X1 + 0.12 X2 and the value of the correlation coefficient ry. 12 = 0.165. The coefficient of determination r2y.12 = 0.390 means that the Visionary Leadership of the Principal (X1) and Job Satisfaction (X2) jointly contribute to the teacher's Creativity (Y) of 21.70%.

The coefficient of determination r2y.1 = 0.174 means that the Transformational Leadership (X1) contributes to the teacher's Organizational Citizenship Behavior by 17.40%, (2) there is a very significant positive relationship between Interpersonal Communication with Organizational Citizenship Behavior teachers with simple linear regression equations Ŷ = 100.44 + 0.29 X2 and the correlation coefficient ry.2 = 0.349, and the coefficient of determination r2y.2 = 0.116 which means that the contribution of Interpersonal Communication (X2) to the Organizational Citizenship Behavior of the teacher is 19.60%,  (3) there is a very significant positive relationship between Transformational Leadership and Interpersonal Communication together with the Organizational Citizenship Behavior of teachers with the multiple linear regression equation Ŷ = 77.25 +0.27 X1 +0.21 X2 and the correlation coefficient value ry.12 = 0.152. The coefficient of determination r2y.12 = 0.390 means that the Principal Transformational Leadership (X1) and Interpersonal Communication (X2) together contribute to the Organizational Citizenship Behavior of teachers (Y) by 15.20%.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The research goal is to analyze the use of languages and forms of speech components from the main characters in the Legend 2015 film by Brian Helgeland. A descriptive analysis approach is used to describe the usage of various languages. The main character conversations with others become the main source of data. The result shows that the intimate language most frequently used, yet the least is the variety of consultative language. Still, the form of speech components in each use of various languages is more influenced by the components of the participants, topics, functions, and settings. It is concluded that the usage of intimate languages is strongly influenced by the components of the participant's speech, both the topic, function, and background. Keywords: variety of languages, speech components, social context and Legend 2015 film

The rest of the data indicates diverse answers by the informants but still highlights the mispronunciation. The factors that cause difficulties in the pronunciation of word stress in English are the interferences of the mother tongue, the inconsistency of some sounds in English, the differences in phonological rules between English and Indonesian, and lastly, the lack of exposure to English as a medium for communication. Keywords: pronunciation; word stress; syllables.
