Abstract

The low quality of students evident in various national evaluations highlights the importance of strengthening literacy education management in schools. Although the School Literacy Movement (GLS) has been implemented at various levels, various studies show that its implementation has not been consistent, especially in terms of planning, organization, utilization of facilities, and monitoring. Based on these conditions, this study aims to critically analyze how literacy education management is practiced within the framework of GLS, while identifying the main challenges that hinder its effectiveness. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method; data was obtained from journal articles, GLS evaluation reports, and relevant official publications from the Ministry of Education and Culture. The results show that the effectiveness of GLS is still hampered by four main problems: disparities between schools in managerial capacity, low teacher competence, inequality in literacy facilities, and weak evaluation that has not become part of school culture. These findings confirm that GLS is not yet an integral part of school management but still runs as an additional program.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of knowledge management at SMPI Ainul Ulum Sungai Ambawang through four main management functions: planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions with triangulative verification. The research findings indicate that the planning function is realized through annual plenary forums and weekly meetings that produce lesson plans as a reference for learning implementation. The organizing function includes structuring the organizational structure, dividing tasks and authorities, and establishing activity committees supported by the principal's supervision. The implementation function focuses on the process of knowledge transfer between teachers and students through adaptive learning strategies. The supervisory function is implemented through two-way performance evaluations involving the principal and educators to ensure the achievement of learning objectives.

Abstract

The phenomenon of globalization, characterized by the rapid flow of ideologies, cultures, information, and technologies across national boundaries, presents significant challenges to the preservation and actualization of Pancasila values in the context of international society. The expansion of liberalism, individualism, and materialism often marginalizes collective values, potentially weakening national identity, social solidarity, and moral orientation within Indonesian society. In response to these dynamics, this study aims to analyze the challenges and transformations faced by Pancasila values amid globalization and to examine their relevance and strategic role at the global level. This research adopts a qualitative approach through a literature review method, drawing upon scientific journals, books, and relevant academic publications. The findings indicate that Pancasila remains a flexible and adaptive open ideology capable of functioning as a cultural filter against negative global influences, while simultaneously serving as a foundation for ethical universalism and normative guidance in international relations. Furthermore, Pancasila contributes to shaping Indonesia’s moral diplomacy by promoting values of humanity, justice, tolerance, and peace. The study concludes that strengthening value-based education and contextualizing the implementation of Pancasila in contemporary global discourse are essential to maintaining its relevance and reinforcing Indonesia’s identity in the era of globalization.

Abstract

Academic supervision plays a strategic role in improving instructional quality, yet it is often perceived merely as an administrative activity. This study aims to analyze the implementation of academic supervision by the principal and its impact on teacher performance at SDN Dermo II Bangil. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis, and analyzed using an interactive data analysis model. The findings reveal that academic supervision is implemented in a structured, reflective, and collaborative manner and functions as a mechanism for teacher professional development. Supervision positively influences lesson planning quality, instructional strategy variation, and formative assessment practices. It also enhances teacher motivation and professionalism, although its implementation is constrained by limited supervisory time and administrative workload. The study concludes that meaningful and contextual academic supervision contributes significantly to improving teacher performance and instructional quality in primary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of teachers’ active participation in improving teacher performance at SDN Dermo I Bangil by highlighting its meanings, forms, and implications within the context of a primary school organization. The phenomenon of suboptimal teacher performance is often associated with limited opportunities for participation in decision-making processes and professional development at the school level. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, which was selected to obtain an in-depth and contextual understanding of the phenomenon. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving the principal and teachers selected using purposive sampling, complemented by snowball sampling to enrich the data. The findings reveal three main themes: teachers’ participation in school decision-making, participation in professional development, and participation as a driver of improved teacher performance. The results indicate that meaningful teacher involvement fosters a sense of ownership, professional responsibility, and work motivation, which positively influence teacher performance. However, the study also identifies barriers to participation influenced by organizational culture and differences in teachers’ experiences. Theoretically, this study reinforces the perspectives of participative leadership and distributed leadership in the context of primary education.
