Published by Universitas Tidar
Transformatika: Jurnal Bahasa, Sastra, dan Pengajarannya is an e-journal published by Universitas Tidar. The research article submitted to this online journal will be peer-reviewed at least 2 (two) reviewers. Every article that goes to the editorial staff will be selected through initial review processes by Editorial Board. Then, the articles will be sent to peer reviewer (Mitra Bestari) and will go to the next selection by the double-blind review process. After that, the articles will be returned to the authors to revise. These processes take a month for a maximum time. In each manuscript, peer reviewer will be rated from the substantial and technical aspects. Final decision of articles acceptance will be made by editors according to reviewers comments. Peer reviewer that collaboration with Transformatika: Jurnal Bahasa, Sastra, dan Pengajarannya is the experts in the linguistics, literature, and their teaching area and issues around it. They were experienced in the prestigious journal management and publication that was spread around the nation and abroad.

Abstract

The purpose of speaking learning in school is not only to make students proficient spoke well for many purposes, but also to trigger students creativity in terms of determining the source of idea and develop ideas. It is also can make students as a good ethics speaker. For the honorable purposes, variety obstacles that come from inside and outside student, often inhibits, one of which is the lack of the students opportunity to practice and perform. The teacher as director, adviser, facility providers and motivator needs to determine the best efforts for the settlement of various constraints. One of which is choose the most appropriate learning strategies. The strategy chosen have to be adapted to implementation procedure of Learning Speaking, so the chosen strategy can be right on target and obtain maximum results.Keyword: teacher, learning, talking

Abstract

This study discusses presupposition and implikature in Abdur’s Stand-up Comedy Indonesia (SUCI) Session 4 Kompas TV. SUCI uses Indonesian language as the main material of the jokes. The jokes in SUCI come from everyday life of the comics. The jokes in SUCI have some massages. It uses pragmatics analysis approach to answer the questions about (1) presupposition and (2) implicature of SUCI 4. The data are oral forms of Kompas TV’s SUCI 4 shows. The data are obtained by the observation method and by taking notes technique. The data analysis uses pragmatics equal methods. The theories used are the theory of background knowledge, presuppotition, and implicature. The analysis shows that first, Comica’s presupposition about the east of Indonesia are geographycal, society, food, technology, and pulic building condition. Secondly, implicature of Abdur stand up comedy are admit a shortage, found out attention, and critics about government role. Keywords: presupposition, implicature, Indonesian stand up comedy.

Abstract

This research has a purpose to describe the use of jargon contained on WhatsApp chat community. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative. The results show that the use of jargon by WhatsApp chat community among students of Applied Linguistics S2 class A of Yogyakarta State University in the academic year of 2013/2014 includes the use of language, form, and function jargon. Overall jargon found in this research were 54 jargons, which consists of 17 jargon in Indonesian, 20 jargon in English, 4 jargon in a foreign language, and 13 jargon in abbreviated form. The findings of this jargon, at least can make a new vocabulary and given its own color in the development of language variation.Kata kunci: jargon, chatting, whatsapp

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ekspresi deiksis yang digunakan pada komik Julius Caesar dan untuk mengetahui frekuensi penggunaan ekspresi deiksis. Objek penelitian ini adalah tokoh-tokoh utama dalam komik seperti Caesar, Brutus, and Cassius. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam studi ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan menerapkan tahapan Miles dan Huberman (1994) yaitu reduksi data, display data, dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa deiksis personal digunakan secara dominan pada setiap bab dengan penggunaan rata-rata di atas 90% daripada deiksis tempat, waktu, wacana, dan sosial, dimana komik merupakan wujud bahasa lisan yang dituliskan.Kata kunci: Semantics, deixis, written text, spoken text

Abstract

Dalam proses belajar-mengajar bahasa Inggris terdapat empat keterampilan yang harus dikuasai oleh pembelajar, yaitu listening, speaking, reading, dan writing. Salah satu keterampilan yang dianggap sebagian pembelajar bahasa Inggris sebagai keterampilan tersulit untuk dikuasai adalah writing. Salah satu teknik yang dapat digunakan untuk pengajaran writing adalah teknik dictogloss. Tahap reconstruction pada teknik dictogloss memfasilitasi pembelajar untuk merekonstruksi teks yang telah disampaikan dengan mempergunakan bahasa mereka sendiri. Selanjutnya, tahap correction-analysis menyediakan feedback yang memfasilitasi pembelajar untuk mengoreksi kesalahan-kesalahan pada aspek-aspek writing, seperti content, organization, language use, dan mechanics.Kata kunci: assessing writing, dictogloss technique, writing

Abstract

Dalam menerjemahkan sebuah novel, perubahan tema-rema terjemahan dapat mempengaruhi hasil terjemahan, terlebih lagi dari sisi keluasan makna yang dinilai dari segi keluasan makna secara tekstual. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskrispsikan variasi keluasan makna secara textual di The Curious Case of Benjamin Button F. S. Fitzgerald dan Kisah Aneh Benjamin F. Chotimah  dan untuk mendeskripsikan kategori variasi keluasan makna secara textual yang sering muncul (2) untuk mendeskripsikan teks yang memiliki derajat keluasan makna secara tekstual lebih tinggi. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data diambil dari novel The Curious Case of Benjamin Button oleh F. S. Fitzgerald dan terjemahan dari novel tersebut Kisah Aneh Benjamin oleh F. Chotimah. Pengukuran variasi tematik menentukan tingkatan  keluasan makna tekstual yang terdapat di novel terjemahan. Kesimpulan yang bisa diambil (1) variasi secara umum terjadi di variasi skala 1 dan yang paling sering muncul adalah variasi skala “0” (2)ditemukan bahwa 65.76% dari keseluruhan data mempunyai kesamaan derajat keluasan makna.Kata kunci    : variasi tematik, variasi keluasan makna secara tekstual, penerjemahan, sistemik fungsional,

Abstract

This research aims to improve the skills of Teater Kenes SMPN 4 Yogyakarta in performing the drama with the “Role Playing” method. This method is one of the various methods used in the study of Drama Performance. One of the advantages of utilizing this method is to help students in solving their personal problems. Role Playing provides the opportunity for students to determine their personal problems, then do some experiment in various ways to resolve the problems when it occurs.This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of the research is Teater Kenes, SMPN 4 Yogyakarta involving 10 students. This study consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques are questionnaires, interviews, observation and documentation of the learning activities. Analyses are performed with a qualitative descriptive technique that is supported by quantitative data. The validity of the data obtained through validity (processes, products, democratic, and dialogue) and reliability.The results shown that the method of Role Playing can improve playing skills in Teater Kenes SMPN 4 Yogyakarta. The ability of the students in role-play before their implementation of measures categorized is considered as Below Average Category. However, after the implementation of the action during the two cycles, the ability of the students in the drama belongs to Good Category. It is based on the observation of students from Pre-Action with the arithmetic mean value of 17.6 (29.33%), the first cycle of 21.1 (35.17%), and the second cycle the average value of count to 37, 6 (62.67%). The ability to play drama of the students from Pre-Action to the second cycle is increased by 20 (33.34%). Moreover, the process of learning to play the drama is also increased. Prior to the implementation of the action, the students were not stimulated to play a role, less active, and were hesitate to make a move so that the target is less than standard. After the implementation of the action, students become more daring, active in learning, and they are not hesitate to make a move, even they are able to improvise. It can be seen from the observation during the learning process of Pre-Action with the arithmetic mean value of 7.6 (38%), the first cycle of 9.6 (48%), and the second cycle the average value of count to 17, 2 (86%). Thus, the process of learning to play the drama of Pre-Action to the second cycle is increased by 9.6 (48%).Keywords: dramatic play, role playing, teater kenes SMPN 4 yogyakarta

Abstract

There are many obstacle faced in teaching learning of Bahasa Indonesia in Junior High School. Therefore, a repairement of teaching learning model which is acellerated with students’ condition and needs is needed. One alternative learning model that can be used is aplying Self Evaluation and Coaching Training model for students who have different level of independent. Self Evaluation model wich aplyed on students with have high level of independent has the average 88.33, on Students’ with low independent showed the average 67.92.  Coaching Training model wich aplyed on students with have high level of independent has the average 69,17, on Students’ with low independent showed the average 75,50. The data proves that self-evaluation model is suitable implemented for students who have high level of independent, and  coaching-training model is suitable for students with low level of independent.Keywords : Reporting a news, Model, Self-Evaluation, Coaching-Training, Independence.

Abstract

The aims of this research are (1) to analyze metafunction in the discourse, (2) to analyze interdependent and logico semantic meaning, and (3) to analyze the nominal group in the discourse. This research was descriptive qualitative research. The source of the data in this research was the discourse entitled What’s up with Monas?. The data was analyzed by using Systemic Functional Linguistic approach. This research found 19 clause of indicative-declarative in the discourse. Interpersonally, the writer of this discourse plays his role to give information to the reader. Ideationally, the researcher found that material process dominated the discourse. The circumstance that found was circumstance of time and place. Textually, unmarked topical theme was dominated the discourse. From interdependent and logico semantic relationship, the researcher found that clause complex appeared more often than simple clauses. This relationship influences the style of the discourse. Moreover, in nominal group, there were 8 nominal groups with classifier, 3 nominal groups with epithet and 9 nominal groups with qualifier.  From the analysis above, we can conclude that the discourse in this research include to news item.
