Abstract

The relevance of this research is the growth of character values for students in Indonesia. Mathematics is a subject that builds character value for students. This can be seen from how students view mathematics from their perspective. Students' perspective can be seen as a student's assessment of the mathematics such as from the attitudes, interests, self-concepts, values, and morals shown in the learning process of mathematics with the students' willingness to act positively or negatively. In mathematics learning, this is called the affective aspect (AA). One of the factors influencing students’ AA is self-efficacy (SE). SE is a belief that is someone has to complete a given task or problem. There are three categories of SE that owned by students, that is high, medium, and low. The purpose of this study is to determine which ones provide better mathematics AA than students. The research subjects are 294 students in Karanganyar Regency. Data is obtained by questionnaire. Based on the results of data analysis, the conclusion is students with high SE have better mathematics AA than students with moderate and low SE, while students with moderate SE have better mathematics AA than students with low SE.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the elementary school teachers’ mathematical skills on the numbers, especially fractions after they have participated in a workshop. The teachers’ abilities which would be described by the researcher in this study were the ability to interpret, to order, to add and subtract, to interpret the meaning of the multiplication and division, to multiply and divide, and to make problems about fractions. In this paper, the author just only would describe the teachers’ mathematical skills in adding and subtracting two fractions, interpreting the multiplication and division of two fractions, multiplying and dividing two fractions. This capability was described base on the results of a test given to teachers after they have attended the workshop. Research subjects in this study were 17 Kanisius Demangan elementary school teachers at Yogyakarta. Of the 17 teachers, 16 teachers could add and subtract two fractions. Six teachers of 17 teachers could interpret what was the meaning of multiplication of two fractions. One teacher could interpret what was the meaning of division of two fractions. All of the teachers could divide two fractions. Sixteen teachers of 17 teachers could multiply two fractions.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is trying to identify epistemological obstacles which were experienced by Indonesian students in answering PISA test for mathematics literacy content uncertainty and data. Epistemological obstacles was identified by giving a test to the respondent, students of grade 7th and 8th who have studied data representation in the class. Respondents’ work analysed by qualitative method. The result showed that respondents have epistemological obstacles in reading the data, reading between the data, and reading beyond the data. To gain further understanding, some respondents chose to be interviewed.

Abstract

The counting rules is a topic in mathematics senior high school. In the learning process, teachers often find students who have difficulties in learning this topic. Knowing the characteristics of students' learning difficulties and analyzing the causes is important for the teacher, as an effort in trying to reflect the learning process and as a reference in constructing alternative learning solutions which appropriate to anticipate students’ learning obstacles. This study uses qualitative methods and involves 70 students of class XII as research subjects. The data collection techniques used in this study is diagnostic test instrument about learning difficulties in counting rules, observation, and interview. The data used to know the learning difficulties experienced by students, the causes of learning difficulties, and to develop alternative learning solutions. From the results of data analysis, the results of diagnostic tests researcher found some obstacles faced by students, such as students get confused in describing the definition, students difficulties in understanding the procedure of solving multiplication rules. Based on those problems, researcher analyzed the causes of these difficulties and make hypothetical learning trajectory as an alternative solution in counting rules learning.

Abstract

This Research and development goal is to produce Student Worksheet (SWS) static fluid material based on the scientific approach using guided inquiry learning model, which is easy, interesting, useful and effective. This research was conducted through seven stages, namely: pra-research and data collection stage,  planning stage, pra-developing product stage, pra-test stage, revising design stage, product test stage, and revising product stage. The pra-study stage consists of a literature study and teacher and student assessment analysis in Al Kautsar Bandar Lampung high school. The developing stage is produces (SWS) static fluid material with scientific approaches based using guided inquiry learning model with well validated  of design expert and well enough of the material expert. The product test stage had been held on the sample with random cluster sampling technique which XI.IPA-5 class as the experimental class and XI.IPA-4 class as the control class. The results of this study indicate that the developing result SWS s has the easy category, interesting, useful, and good enough effective with the N-gain 0.599.

Abstract

The research aims to develop Problem Based Learning material teaching of Mathematics Physics and to know the effect on the cognitive capability of undergraduate students. The research uses development method of Borg and Gall. There are ten steps such as data collection, planning, product drafting, pretest, pretest revise 1, main test, main test revise 2, posttest, final revision, and dissemination and implementation. The data collection uses questionnaire and cognitive test which will support the qualitative data. The result shows that the criterion of developing problem-based learning teaching materials is 5 level category when 43.33% respondents rate 5 level category and the others give 4 level category. Furthermore, students which use the materials increased and the most of the students have acquired cognitive value exceeds the value of minimum completeness criteria.

Abstract

In this This devotion has been done to provide education and training of the utilization of waste chicken manure, making flour chicken feathers as a fish feed alternative, that can overcome some of the problems that waste chicken feathers from the center cutting broiler chickens in the village Krasak enough, it causes pollution, and not used optimally; Low public awareness of awareness of environmental pollution; the lack of public knowledge about the utilization of waste chicken feathers, and processing technology, as well as to address the needs of fish feed more expensive, need alternative feed ingredients. This service program has provided insight to the public about waste chicken feathers so that it can be used as a new entrepreneurial startups. To achieve these objectives have been done of activity as follows: 1) Provide counseling and understanding of the community will be a negative impact on the environment of waste chicken feathers. 2) Provide counseling utilization of waste chicken feathers for people in nearby farms. 3) Make a chicken feather meal of chicken feather waste as an alternative fish feed to improve digestibility of chicken feathers. 3) The formation of the group for increasing the economic income of the family. This service activities program runs quite well with demonstrated some activity, namely: 1) Change Behavior Society (knowledge transfer); 2) Chicken Feather Extension Waste Utilization; 3) Making Unit Waste Chicken Feathers; 4) Establishment of New Business of Diversified Waste Chicken Feathers.

Abstract

Sustainable operation and maintenance activities determine durability and success level of irrigation infrastructure. Success indicator of irrigation such as increasing of water usage efficiency, increasing of plant intensity, decreasing of water distribution conflict, increasing of agricultural production result and decreasing of dryness of plant. Therefore, it is necessary to have research to determine the performance of irrigation operation that had been carried out from 2013 – 2106 at Dimoro Irrigation Area. The Dimoro operational data records 2013 - 2016 were analyzed by simple weighting for each indicator, then analyzed to obtain performance for each year. The results showed that the operation irrigation at Dimoro Irrigation Area tend to succeed if seen from its performance that rises.
