Abstract

An experiment for determine brewster angle and study polarization from reflected light has been done. Equipment which requested for this experiment are a spectrophotometry table as the place the sample and read the reflected angle, photodetector as recording instrument to determine value of intensity from reflected light, resin as tested sample, He-Ne Laser as main light resource, and a polarizer used as light polarizator. The result from this experiment shown there are 2 mode from polarized light, TE mode and TM mode. Mode which used to determine the brewster angle is TM Mode. The value of  brewster angle from resin sample on this experiment is 52,5o. The value from refractive index is (1,303 ± 0,055) compared by the literature which has been used is (1,46±0,01).

Abstract

ANALISIS SIKAP SISWA TERHADAP STEM BERDASARKAN GENDER DAN TINGKATAN KELAS: STUDI KOMPARASI INDONESIA DAN THAILANDAbstractAttitude is a tendency to behave and react to a given stimulus. The smoothness of STEM learning involves students, one of which is students' attitude towards STEM. Students at the junior high school level are a transitional period from children to adolescents who are not yet considered adulthood. Besides that, there is behavior stereotypical in male and female students during learning. This research was conducted to analyze students' attitudes towards Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in Indonesia and Thailand in terms of grade level and gender. The research method used is descriptive quantitative using a survey. This study used the STEM questionnaire distributed to 139 students in Thailand and 90 students in Indonesia. Data were collected using a questionnaire about students' attitudes towards STEM and interview protocols for science teachers. Analysis of student attitudes, which focused on self-confidence, enjoyment, interest, and anxiety, showed that these attitudes were more dominant among students at the highest grade level in both countries. However, there is no significant difference between the attitudes of male and female students in Indonesia and Thailand; both are the same in responding to STEM learning.AbstrakSikap merupakan kecenderungan berperilaku dan reaksi terhadap stimulus yang diberikan. Kelancaran pembelajaran STEM yang melibatkan siswa, salah satunya adalah sikap siswa terhadap STEM. Siswa pada jenjang sekolah menengah pertama merupakan masa peralihan dari anak-anak menuju remaja yang belum dikatakan masa dewasa, selain itu adanya perilaku stereotype pada siswa laki-laki dan perempuan pada saat pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis sikap siswa terhadap Sains, Teknologi, Rekayasa, dan Matematika (STEM) di Indonesia dan Thailand ditinjau dari tingkat kelas dan jenis kelamin. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan survei berupa kuesioner. Penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner STEM yang dibagikan kepada 139 siswa di Thailand dan 90 siswa di Indonesia. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner tentang sikap siswa terhadap STEM dan protokol wawancara untuk guru IPA. Analisis sikap siswa yang berfokus pada kepercayaan diri, kesenangan, minat, dan kecemasan, menunjukkan bahwa sikap tersebut lebih dominan di antara siswa pada tingkat kelas tertinggi di kedua negara. Namun tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara sikap siswa laki-laki dan perempuan di Indonesia dan Thailand, keduanya sama dalam merespon pembelajaran STEM.

Abstract

It focuses on developing and improving quality of education by giving greater authority to school in making decisions together with all school members and local society. This research aims to determine the implementation of MBS in Surakarta junior high schools in 2020. The implementation studied is based on 7 (seven) components, they are of School-Based Curriculum and Learning Management, School-Based Students Management, School-Based Teachers and Education Staff Management, School-Based Facilities and Infrastructure Management, School-Based Financing Management, School-Based School and Community Relations Management, and School-Based Culture and Environment Management. Qualitative method is used in this study. Through a qualitative approach, the results for each MBS components described more deeply, to get the effectivity of implementation of MBS in Surakarta junior high schools.                                                   Keywords: School-based management, implementation, junior high schools Abstrak: Manajemen Berbasis Sekolah (MBS) telah berkembang di Indonesia sejak tahun 2000. Abstract

This research aims to investigate the practicality of the CT-based learning integrated in the physics high school subject through a development of student worksheet. The CT-based learning adapted from Palts and Pedaste’s problem-solving cycle for CT and involved Weintrop’s taxonomy of CT activities in math and science as the reference activities. The study used Plomp’s model, started from the preliminary research, followed by the development phase and evaluation that contained the validity content and practicality evaluation. The content showed high validity scores thus it was continued with the practicality evaluation by carrying out a micro-evaluation to the target users that involved observation, interview, and questionnaire addressing. The evaluation showed that the learning activities through the student worksheet had high practicality scores thus it is possible to be used and adapted to other subject matters.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the implementation of project activities to strengthen the Pancasila Student Profile at State Junior High School 1 (SMP Negeri 1) Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia, and the impact of its implementation on students. The profile of Pancasila students is: 1) Believer, devoted to God Almighty and has noble character, 2) Independent, 3) cooperation, 4) Global diversity, 5) Critical reasoning, 6) Creative based on local wisdom by making Batik, namely Batik Jumputan and Written Batik, in Solo (Surakarta), Central Java, Indonesia. The research population was in one of the junior high schools in Surakarta (SMP Negeri 1 Surakarta). The Pancasila Student Profile can be identified as starting to develop, currently developing according to expectations, and very developing. From the observations, it is known that the Project for Strengthening the Profile of Pancasila Students (P5) at SMP Negeri 1 Surakarta has developed according to expectations by 60% and has developed very well at 40%. However, there is still a weakness, namely that the assessment of the aspects of the Project for Strengthening the Profile of Pancasila Students (P5) as a group is not yet known individually so the aspects that stand out individually are not yet known.

Abstract

Teachers play a crucial role in preparing quality human resources. One Junior High School in Sragen has implemented the Kurikulum Merdeka (Merdeka Curriculum). Based on interviews, teachers are still experiencing challenges in developing learning instruments and implementing the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) model and the Project to Strengthen Students' Pancasila Profile. This community service team, Research Group Innovation in Science Classroom (ISC) provided training for teachers on the implementation of STEAM in the Merdeka Curriculum. The training included planning, implementation, mentoring, evaluation, and reporting. This Community Service Program has improved teachers' skills in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.

Abstract

Learning is carried out to arrange and organize the environment around students to foster their learning process. The student's learning process is carried out through inquiry, responding to questions regarding a problem or a complex challenge. This learning process can be conducted by applying the project-based learning model. The project-based learning model can be applied in the field of information and communication technology in line with the 21st century, such as using Google Sites. Therefore, this research aims to describe the specifications of Google Sites as a learning media using the project-based learning model on alternative energy topics and describe the assessment results from experts, educational practitioners, and learners regarding Google Sites as a learning media using the project-based learning model on alternative energy materials. This development research employs the 4D model by Thiagarajan, which consists of the following stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The learning media obtained validation from two experts and assessment from educational practitioners regarding content, media, and language aspects. The development trial of this media was conducted with phase E students. Data collection techniques included interviews and questionnaires, with data analysis performed qualitatively and quantitatively. The learning media comprises a primary topic, alternative energy, organized based on project-based learning syntax. It consists of three menus: the welcome menu, the main page, and the author's identity. Validation by experts and assessment by educational practitioners indicate that the learning media meets excellent content, media, and language criteria. The development trial results show that the learning media meets excellent criteria at each trial stage.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing terhadap keterampilan proses sains peserta didik kelas VIII SMPN 4 Karanganyar pada materi pesawat sederhana. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian non-equivalent control group. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII B sebagai kelas eksperimen menerapkan model inkuiri terbimbing dan kelas VIII H sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes pilihan ganda keterampilan proses sains dengan indikator yang meliputi aspek mengamati, mengelompokkan, menafsirkan, meramalkan,  mengajukan pertanyaan dan aspek merumuskan hipotesis untuk keterampilan proses sains dasar, merencanakan percobaan, menggunakan alat/bahan, menerapkan konsep dan berkomunikasi untuk keterampilan proses sains terpadu. Uji hipotesis yang digunakan adalah uji t. Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa kelas VIII SMP. Didapatkan nilai Sig. 0,000 kurang dari 0,05 sehingga H0 ditolak yang artinya terdapat pengaruh model inkuiri terbimbing dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik. Selain itu dilihat dari perbedaan nilai n-gain, dimana kelas eksperimen memperoleh nilai n-gain sebesar 0,56 dengan kategori sedang. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa kelas VIII SMP. Oleh karena itu, penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dapat dijadikan alternatif yang baik dalam upaya peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran sains di sekolah, terutama dalam mengembangkan keterampilan proses sains yang penting bagi siswa. Diharapkan temuan ini dapat mendorong guru untuk lebih mengoptimalkan penggunaan model ini dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to make an Arduino Uno-based doppler effect practicum tool with a Max4466 sensor, to find out the results of testing an Arduino Uno-based doppler effect practicum tool with a Max446 sound sensor. The research methodology used is linear regression of the instrument calibration experiment. The data of this research is data from the experimental results of practicum tools made with the calibration tool. This study states that the Max4466 Sound Sensor reads the frequency of sound then the data is processed and sent by Arduino Uno via commands on the Arduino IDE and the Data Streamer menu to Microsoft Excel. After that, the tool calibration process is carried out by comparing the frequency value between what is read on the sensor and the calibrator (digital multi-meter). This practicum tool innovation could directs teachers and students. The benefit of this research is to provide learning media that supports the teaching and learning process and improves students' skills. This research suggestion is for future researchers to look for other calibrators that can record data automatically to facilitate instrument calibration and conduct further research on the effect of air (environment) on a sound.
