Abstract

Instagram is one of the largest social media platforms in Indonesia and is widely used by companies to reach consumers directly, including Meatless Kingdom, a producer of plant-based food products. Despite offering health and environmental benefits, the product still faces challenges such as low public awareness and limited interest in trying plant-based alternatives. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of Meatless Kingdom’s promotional content on Instagram using the AIDA model (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action). The research employed a quantitative descriptive survey method involving 100 active followers of the @meatlesskingdom Instagram account, selected through systematic random sampling. Additional data were collected through interviews with the business owner and a literature review. The findings indicate that the promotional content is categorized as “Highly Effective” with an average score of 4.372. The highest scoring dimension was Interest (4.4975), followed by Attention (4.396), Action (4.3025), and Desire (4.292) as the lowest. Meatless Kingdom is encouraged to enhance emotional branding by maintaining appealing visuals and narratives that emphasize health, sustainability, and a modern lifestyle to boost consumer engagement and loyalty.

Abstract

The technical efficiency of smallholder oil palm plantations is a reflection of the farmers' ability to coordinate the use of inputs to obtain the desired output. This study aims to determine the value of technical efficiency and factors that influence the technical efficiency of smallholder oil palm plantations. The research area was determined purposively on the grounds that it is a sub-district area that has the largest area of smallholder oil palm plantations in Asahan Regency as the regency area that has the largest area of oil palm plantations in North Sumatra Province. The research sample was determined by quota sampling of 150 samples originating from two villages, namely Gonting Malaha Village and Padang Pulau Village, each with 75 samples. The data analysis method used Data Envelopment Analysis and Censored Tobit Regression Analysis for data on the management of smallholder oil palm plantations during 2023. From the results of the study, it was found that the majority (81.33%) of smallholder oil palm plantations were not technically efficient, with an average technical efficiency value of 0.9782. Factors that significantly influence technical efficiency are gender, age, farming experience, number of productive crops cultivated, distance from the farmer's residence to the input market, farmer experience applying organic fertilizer, experience participating in farmer organizations, and experience using information and technology facilities related to farm management. Meanwhile, factors such as education level, family size, type of seed used, and access to credit by farmers have no significant effect on technical efficiency.

Abstract

The notion of rural industrialization and how it can enhance the economic growth of small industries is still an issue that needs attention especially by policy makers. This study seeks to build understanding, knowledge and awareness on how leveraging technological innovations will help build strong rural industrialization and bring positive changes especially to the economic performance of small industries in rural areas. In this study, questionnaires were distributed to 127 participants consisting of small agro-industry entrepreneurs in Tasikmalaya district, a pilot project area for small agro-industry development in West Java. SPSS version (24.0) was used for data analysis. The findings of this study show that 58% of small agro-industry entrepreneurs have successfully adopted better technology than the generation before them, which has had positive implications for increasing their business profitability over the past three years. Policies designed can focus on improving the quality of corporate capital (economic capital, social capital and human capital) which is expected to be able to bridge the problems faced by small agro-industries in rural areas.

Abstract

This study investigates how climate change and disaster exposure influence food security in Banten Province, Indonesia, over the period 2018–2023. Using a panel data regression approach with the Random Effects Model, the analysis incorporates key indicators of climate variability—including temperature and rainfall changes—as well as disaster-related factors such as the number of affected facilities, affected individuals, and disaster frequency. The findings indicate that variations in rainfall and infrastructure-related disaster impacts significantly affect food security outcomes, suggesting a critical link between environmental stressors and food system resilience. These results contribute to the growing body of evidence on regional food security vulnerabilities in the context of climate and disaster risks, and provide policy-relevant insights for enhancing local adaptation strategies.

Abstract

The implementation of farm management in Mr. Andre's watermelon farming group in Kubang Jaya Village has not been carried out optimally. The problem faced is that the supervisory function has not been carried out properly. This can have an impact on farmers' production results. This research aims to: 1) Know the application of watermelon farm management functions, 2) Analyze the income of farmers who apply watermelon farm management. The sampling technique was carried out on watermelon farmers in Mr. Andre's watermelon field in Kubang Jaya Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency who used the farm management function in their watermelon cultivation. The sample determination was carried out using the Census (Saturated Sampling), with the consideration that this research was a case study on Mr. Andre's watermelon field. The results showed that in the watermelon farming sapta carried out by watermelon farmers on Mr. Andre's land there were still problems covering several aspects such as land preparation, seeding and maintenance activities, while in the application of watermelon farm management functions there were obstacles in harvesting activities, namely the low level of supervision or controlling farming. The average revenue obtained by farmers is IDR 228,000,000/Lg/MT or IDR 38,000,000/ha/MT. Watermelon farm income received by farmers amounted to Rp69,171,056/Lg/MT or Rp11,528,509/ha/MT. The unit Break Even Point (BEP) for Mr. Andre's farming group in Kubang Jaya Village was obtained at 25,931 kg, with a price BEP of Rp2,090. The efficiency of watermelon farming resulted in a value of 5.72, indicating that each unit of input used in watermelon farming provides a profit so that it is feasible to cultivate.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Curly red chili (Capsicum annum L.) is a horticultural commodity whose production, availability and price affect inflation and the national economy including in Bangka Belitung. Fluctuations in the price of curly red chili often vary depending on the amount of availability and the number of needs for curly red chili in the community. The price dynamics that occur in the market between marketing institutions for curly red chili commodities in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province are quite interesting to study. This study aims to analyze the transmission of curly red chili prices starting from producers, wholesalers to consumers. The research method is secondary time series data for 5 years (2019-2023) with Asymmetric Error Correction Model (AECM) analysis. The results of the study show that the transmission of curly red chili prices between institutions in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province runs symmetrically. This study shows the importance of efficient marketing distribution chains and price stability policies in order to maintain the stability of curly red chili prices in Bangka Belitung

Abstract

The scarcity of chemical fertilizers has led to an increase in fertilizer prices, so farmers are reluctant to use chemical fertilizers that are too expensive and switch to using organic fertilizers. The application of organic fertilizers is not as a substitute for inorganic fertilizers but as a complement, so that in conventional cultivation organic fertilizers should be used in an integrated manner with inorganic fertilizers to increase soil and plant productivity in a sustainable manner. The purpose of this study was to analyze the decision of the use of organic fertilizers, inorganic fertilizers, and mixtures in rice farming in Sei Bamban Kiri village, Sei Bamban district, Serdang Bedagai Regency. Determination of the research area is done purposively. The sample size is determined by the Slovin method, which is as many as 90 respondents. The method of analysis to analyze the decision of farmers in purchasing the type of fertilizer used is multinomial logistic regression. The results showed that the age and number of family members have a big role in improving the decision of farmers to use fully organic fertilizer. Education Level, age, land area, and having a side job have a big influence in improving farmers ' decisions to use inorganic fertilizers. The level of Education, number of family members, land area, and care for the ecosystem have a big role in improving farmers ' decisions to use mixed fertilizers.
