Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelagic country with abundant fishery resources, one of the commodities is shrimp which is the main export commodity. PT BeeJay Seafood, as a seafood processing and export company in Probolinggo, faces fluctuations in shrimp exports influenced by various factors. This study aims to analyze the influence of exchange rates, inflation, shrimp prices in the domestic market, and shrimp production volume in Indonesia on the shrimp export volume of PT BeeJay Seafood. This study uses a quantitative method with a multiple linear regression approach. The data used is secondary data for the period from December 2023 to November 2024. The shrimp export trend at PT BeeJay Seafood shows a fluctuating pattern. The results of the analysis showed that partially, the rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar and inflation had a positive and significant effect, while the price of shrimp in the domestic market and the volume of shrimp production in Indonesia had no effect on shrimp exports carried out by PT BeeJay Seafood. Partially, all independent variables affect PT BeeJay Seafood's shrimp exports. This study shows that fluctuations in the rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar and inflation need to be the main concern in PT BeeJay Seafood's shrimp export strategy. In addition, companies need to consider domestic pricing policies to increase competitiveness in the international market. The results of this research are expected to provide insight for companies in optimizing shrimp exports.

Abstract

The increasing conversion of agricultural land, especially rice fields, has become a particular concern for the government considering rice as the staple food of the community. Based on this, the government is striving to minimize land conversion by establishing sustainable food agricultural protection areas (KP2B), as rice fields have the potential to improve farmers' welfare. This study aims to analyze the income from rice farming, the income of rice farming households, and the welfare level of rice farming households in Merbau Mataram District, South Lampung Regency. This research uses a survey method. The research location was deliberately chosen in the Abung Timur District, North Lampung Regency, as one of the districts with the largest rice harvest area in North Lampung Regency and is a KP2B area. The respondents in this study are rice farmers. The selection of respondents, 75 rice farmers, used a random sampling technique (system random sampling). The data analysis used includes income analysis, R/C, and household welfare analysis based on the criteria of Sajogyo (1997), BPS (2014), and expenditure share. The research results indicate that the income from rice farming in the sustainable food agriculture area (KP2B) in the Abung Timur District, with a land area of 0.56 ha, amounts to Rp 29,297,079.20 per year. Rice farming is a profitable and viable business unit with an R/C value of 3.49. Meanwhile, the income of rice farmer households in the sustainable food agriculture area (KP2B) in Abung Timur District amounts to Rp 48,016,257.28 per year. Abstract

The potential for diversification of processed salted egg products that have high economic value is still wide open. To increase the competitiveness and added value of the product, innovation is needed through the addition of natural ingredients to make it richer in taste and not smell fishy. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the comparative feasibility of the original salted egg business with the variant of adding oregano leaves with a spicy red chili flavor. The research method used is descriptive quantitative regarding the analysis of the feasibility of the business calculation of fixed costs, variable costs, revenue, income, R/C ratio, and elasticity. Data collection was carried out through experiments in the Agribusiness laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Perjuangan Tasikmalaya. The results of this study indicate that the formulation of salted eggs with the addition of oregano leaves (Plectranthus amboinicus) and red chili has a positive impact on sensory, economic, and strategic aspects. Sensorially, there was a significant increase in the attributes of herbal aroma, spicy taste, and aftertaste, and a decrease in fishy odor, which is thought to be influenced by the volatile aromatic compounds from oregano leaves. Economically, this treatment generates a net income of Rp792,777; the R/C ratio of 2.70 indicates that this innovation is very efficient and worth developing. Sensitivity analysis of selling price (Rp6,500–Rp7,500) and production volume (180–300 grains) indicates that both premium pricing strategies and production expansion have a positive impact on profitability. This innovative product has comparative and differentiating advantages in positioning itself as a gourmet product or functional red chili pepper oregano leaves

Abstract

Utilization and development of plantation sector production results, one of which is robusta coffee commodities. Lumajang District with a production of 7.83% of the total coffee production in East Java Province. This study aims to determine the mapping of potential, application of agribusiness systems, economic value, and strategies for developing organic products of robusta coffee commodities in Lumajang District. The research location was selected purposively in the Lumajang District area. The sampling method is by purposive sampling and snowball sampling. The data collection method used in this study uses observation, interview, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) techniques. The data sources in this study are primary and secondary data. The results of the study indicate that the development of organic robusta coffee is very suitable in the Candipuro, Pasrujambe, Pronojiwo, Ranuyoso and Senduro Districts. The application of the agribusiness system is carried out through intercropping with other commodities. The obstacles experienced are: the quality of the cuttings from the garden is not guaranteed, the materials for making fertilizers and pesticides are not guaranteed to be free from chemical contamination, cultivation, harvesting and post-harvest equipment is used for inorganic activities, and there are no supporting facilities for the wet processing process, limited labor in terms of quantity and quality (skills), access to capital sources is still limited, the market for organic coffee products is limited because there has been no formal partnership and weak institutional management of farmer groups or Gapoktan. The results of economic calculations of organic robusta coffee products can reduce production costs by up to 20%. The priority choice of organic robusta coffee product development strategies is the importance of strengthening farmer institutions in the form of Farmer-Owned Enterprises (BUMP) in order to increase the entrepreneurial spirit, while strengthening the bargaining position in the organic product market mechanism based on science and technology.

Abstract

The SIPINDO (Indonesian Agricultural Information System) application was a digital platform designed to assist farmers in obtaining agricultural information. This study aimed to describe farmers’ knowledge, attitudes, and skills toward the SIPINDO application and to analyze the impact of the SIPINDO application intervention within the Subur Makmur Farmer Group. The research method employed an experimental approach using a true-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test group design. The data analysis methods included descriptive analysis and the Paired Sample t-Test. The results of the study indicated that, after the intervention, farmers in the Subur Makmur Farmer Group demonstrated higher levels of knowledge, attitudes, and skills. The pre-test results for the knowledge variable showed that the majority of farmers were in the moderate category, totaling 30 individuals or 60%, while 12 individuals were in the low category and only 8 individuals were in the high category. The post-test results showed that the number in the low category decreased to 3 individuals, the moderate category decreased to 17 individuals, and the high category increased to 30 individuals or 60%. In terms of the attitude variable, the pre-test results showed that most farmers were in the moderate category, totaling 30 individuals or 60%, while 7 individuals were in the low category and 13 in the high category. After the intervention, the post-test results revealed an increase in the number of farmers in the high category to 22 individuals or 44%. For the skills variable, the pre-test indicated that the majority of farmers were in the low category, with 26 individuals or 52%. Following the intervention, the post-test results showed that the number of farmers in the low category decreased to 4 individuals, while those in the high category increased by 24 individuals. The increase in the high category across all three variables indicated that the intervention provided through the SIPINDO application was effective in improving farmers’ behavior and engagement with the application in the Subur Makmur Farmer Group, Baran Village.
