Abstract

Religious Belief Model in the Quran: Reconfiguration of Motives for Change Acts of ObedienceThe tendency to change behavior in a more spiritual direction is identified by encouraging education and the implementation of worship routines. The identification ignores the basic structure of the formation of religious action that arises as the main consequence of religious belief. This study aims to show the basic construction of a religious activity contained in the Qur'an as the primary guide for every action of Muslims. To achieve this goal, this study uses qualitative methods with a type of literature study strengthened by content analysis to analyze verse, which is identified by thematic method. This study found that the basic concepts that encourage religious action in Islam come from religious beliefs that are indicated by the emphasis on the form of religious threats and the benefits obtained as the desired expectation to encourage religious behavior. Two types of means arise from within the individual, which is reinforced by external impulses whose emphasis is directed at aspects of religious commitment. The formation of beliefs and the impetus towards commitment are independent variables that allow it to be modified as a way to encourage a more religious change of action. Any effort to change behavior, whether by education or worship, is a form of modification to religious beliefs and commitments.

Abstract

Study of Term Millah 'Abd Al-Muṭṭalib in the Hadith Narrated by Ibn Hibban no. 982 and its Relation to the Problem of Abu Talib’s FaithAbu Talib's problem is centered on the issue of faith or disbelief. Some scholars are of the opinion that Abu Talib was a disbeliever because until the end of his life he was reluctant to pronounce the shahada. However, some argue that Abu Talib is a believer because of his great care and love for the Prophet Muhammad so that Allah glorifies him. In this regard, in the hadith narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān it is stated that Abu Talib died holding fast to millah 'Abd al-Muṭṭalib. With this, this study aims to examine more deeply the meaning of millah 'Abd al-Muṭṭalib in the hadith narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān no. 982 as one of the efforts to strengthen the argument that Abu Talib died in a state of faith. This research is a type of qualitative research with the type of library research. The results of this research show that the meaning of Millah 'Abd al-Muṭṭalib contained in the hadith narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān no. 982 which has the meaning of monotheism religion. In this case, it means that Abu Talib is a follower of the hanif religion which unites Allah SWT, as adhered to by his father Abdul Muttalib. Abu Talib believed in his heart that he justified Islamic teachings, but he never professed his faith with the intention of protecting the Prophet Muhammad from the heinous acts of the Quraysh infidels. So that Abu Talib was classified as a believer in his lifetime until the end of his life, and not a disbeliever

Abstract

This paper explains the meaning of istitha'ah in the interpretation of al-Azhar and its relevance to the implementation of the Indonesian pilgrimage during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is library research, using the research methodology of maudhu'I interpretation. The primary source in this research is the book of Tafsir Al-Azhar written by Haji Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah and published by the Nurul Islam Foundation Jakarta in 1982. This study found that the meaning of istitha'ah in the interpretation of al-Azhar is the provision of piety, because according to Buya Hamka the best provision is piety to Allah SWT. Therefore, the author concludes that the concept of istitha'ah offered by Buya Hamka in the interpretation of al-Azhar seems irrelevant if it is applied to the implementation of the pilgrimage during the Covid-19 pandemic, because it is not in harmony with the concept of al-maqasid al-syariah which is centered on to the five benefits, especially the benefit of the soul of Hifzh an-nafs. In addition, Buya Hamka's experience when performing the hajj pilgrimage in 1927 is also impossible to apply at this time, considering the differences in legal rules. Theoretically, this research is expected to contribute to the development of Islamic studies, especially in the field of interpretation, while practically this research is expected to provide scientific explanations to the wider community regarding the problems of implementing the Indonesian Hajj during the Covid-19 pandemic

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the methodology for understanding hadīth according to Yūsuf Qaraḍāwī. This study uses library research methods to analyze data. The primary data are Qaraḍāwī's work, while the secondary data are books and journal articles relevant to the topic of this study. The results of this study indicate that Qaraḍāwī offers eight steps to understanding hadīth, namely defining hadīth based on the Qur'ān, collecting hadīth thematically, compromising contradictory hadīths, identifying asbāb al-wurūd of the hadīth, distinguishing changing and unchanging means, differentiating between the literal and figurative language (majāz), recognizing the unseen and the real, and confirming the meaning of the words in the hadīth. Some points that must be avoided in interacting with ṣunnāh are the interpretation of the ignorant, the deviation of the extremes, and the manipulation of the heretics. Furthermore, the basic principles in interacting with ṣunnāh are examining the validity of hadīth based on the scientific principles established by hadīth experts, understanding the editorial hadīth properly according to the language instructions and the context of the hadīth, and ensuring that the matān of the hadīth does not conflict with the nāsh of the Qur'an or other hadīth with a more powerful position

Abstract

Anti-Semitism in M. Quraish Shihab's Interpretation of verses about Jews in Tafsir al-MisbahThis article aims to analyze more deeply the issue of anti-Semitism in the interpretation of the Qur'an Quraish Shibah. Seeing the growing movement of adherents of the Jewish religion in Indonesia and the emergence of a survey from the Wahid Foundation that Indonesian Muslims do not like Judaism, it is necessary to have an in-depth study regarding the interpretation of Indonesian figures towards Jewish verses in the Koran. Quraish Shihab apart from being an intellectual figure in Indonesia who has a complete commentary of 30 chapters, he is also one of Indonesia's political figures. Quraish Shihab's interpretation of Judaism needs to be explored to track and analyze more deeply whether there are elements of anti-Semitism in his interpretation, seeing that he is one of the intellectual and political figures of Indonesian Muslims. To reveal the interpretation of Quraish Shihab, the descriptive-analytical method is the guideline in this article. After carrying out the analysis, it was found that Tafsir al-Misbah still has a strong impression of anti-Semitism, although it does not apply equally to all adherents of the Jewish religion. Regarding the characteristics revealed by Quraish in describing the Jews, namely: often playing against each other, jealous, and often committing lies, and aspiring for Muslims to embrace Judaism

Consuming Halal Food from the Perspective of the Qur'an: A Semantic-Historical Study QS. Al-Baqarah verse 168This paper aims to analyze the meaning of halal in QS. Al-Baqarah (2) verse 168 with a semantic-historical approach. The enrichment of the concept of halal food in the Qur'an is important, especially for researchers in the field of Al-Qur'an and commentary. This research is a literature review with a semantic-historical analysis paradigm in QS Al-Baqarah (2): 168. This study found that based on a semantic approach, the word "halal" in this verse includes two words that are collocated (side by side) with the word "thayyib" . Halal consumption along with orders to stay away from satanic steps. This connotatively means that Allah SWT wants humans to be physically and spiritually healthy. Historically, this verse is related to the culture of Arab society which considers certain animals as sacred animals. They equate their position with the idols that are worshiped. This verse came down to rectify this wrong view

Healthy Life with Al-Quran (Thematic Study of Verses about Health)This article aims to reveal the concept of healthy life with the Qur'an in maudhuiy interpretation approach which is a literary study. This article summarizes that explain of Qur’an and their correlation with hadith. He provides a comprehensive understanding that Islam really wants health and the impact it causes. Based on several verses and hadiths presented in this paper, there is a relationship between physical and psychological health, in which humans cannot be said to be healthy, when their minds are not healthy, when they are physically strong, they do not appreciate when they are mentally ill so that they are healthy mentally and physically. is the answer. To achieve quality health that combines body and soul, it is necessary to have a complete understanding of human self as a perfect entity if it does not separate aspects of the soul and body. When humans provide their bodily needs in the form of food and drink, the quality of what they consume will affect the quality of their soul.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the value of moderation contained in QS Al-Baqarah verse 143 in the world of education. The moderation value is obtained from a study of the meaning of al-wasath contained in the verse. The study was conducted using the term thematic method with the Contextual Hermeneutics approach initiated by Abdullah Saeed. Namely, capturing the messages and teachings of the Qur'an by considering the historical context of the text and the historical context of the application of the text. This study found that, 1) the meaning of the term al-wasath is a state in the middle, in worldview and life in the hereafter and physical and spiritual behavior, not to act in extreme and radical ways, 2) historically, term al-wasath in QS al -Baqarah: 143 is used to express the moderate attitude of a farmer who thinks well of the crop failure he has experienced, and in context this term shows a tolerant attitude towards various differences that occur in life, 3) the application of moderation values in education can be done with several approaches, namely the value instilling approach, the cognitive moral development approach, the value analysis approach, the value clarification approach, and the learning to do approach. Abstract

Ḥadīṡ Iftirāq Recognition in a Multicultural SpaceThe purpose of this research is to analyze two main things, namely how the iftiraq hadith is used as a tool to legitimize the existence of other groups, and how to actualize this hadith in multicultural life. This research also uses a fiqh al-ḥadīṡ approach with a descriptive-hermeneutical analysis model. This research has shown two things. First, the concepts of "According to the Prophet and the Companions" and "al-Jamā'ah" have been 'withdrawn' to monopolize the concept of salvation for a particular religious group. Second, in the context of multicultural life, iftirāq hadith needs to be seen as a text that is connected to other texts, namely, the Qur'an and other hadiths. In this case, there needs to be a distinction between the principles of belief and the principle of coexistence. The principle of belief becomes vertical: man and God; while the principle of coexistence is horizontal: humans and their environment. This principle have consequences for the importance of maintaining human values and others for the sake of a peaceful, balanced and harmonious life.
