Abstract

Homosexuals According to Ziauddin Sardar's book "Reading the Quran"This study aims to describe the homosexual discussion in Ziauddin Sardar's book Reading The Qur'an. As text research, the research method used is qualitative with an interpretive-literary approach. The data collection technique was carried out in a documentative manner. Meanwhile, the data analysis was carried out in an explanatory-hermeneutic manner. The research results mention homosexuality as an act that is not explicitly explained in the Al-Qur'an. Homosexuality occurs because of an innate instinct or life choice. Homosexual acts in the contemporary era cannot be attributed to the sexual violence that occurred in the story of the Prophet Lut AS. Where the people of the Prophet Lut AS committed sexual violence through intimidation and cruelty. Meanwhile, homosexual culture in contemporary culture refers to the sexual hedonist attitude of a person who is motivated by psychological, health, hedonism, economic, and technological pressure factors. Homosexuals cannot be punished cruelly according to Islamic sources. So with that, as fellow human beings, we still have to respect homosexual perpetrators according to human nature, and not respect their actions. Despite this, homosexual behavior still undermines the social fabric

Abstract

Actualization of the Cooperation Meaning (Living Al-Qur'an-Hadith in Koto Petai Village-Kerinci-Jambi)The  purpose of this study is to examines how  the actualization of the meaning of cooperation in the Koto Petai community. Based on this research, some forms of cooperation in the Koto Petai community, such as: Bampok, recitation on Ramadan night, slaughtering cow on Eid al-Fitr, 'skuduopihak" parties at wedding, etc, are living al-Qur'an and sunnah which has become the custom and culture of the people. The research method is a qualitative study using analytical description method that is describing the data that has been obtained in accordance with the object of research. The object of this research is the local wisdom of the culture of community cooperation in Kerinci Jambi, which is limited to  Koto Petai, Danau Kerinci District, Kerinci Regency. The source of research is through observation, interviews with documentation

Abstract

Islam and the Relation of Religions in the Perspective of Hadith and Its Implementation in Educational InstitutionsAs a pluralistic country consisting of various diverse backgrounds, Indonesia can potentially lead to horizontal conflicts if not managed properly. This article discusses the relationship between Islam and religions, which has become an issue throughout humanity's history. Descriptive research uses the takhrij hadith method and traces information sourced from books and journals that find the topics studied. In editorial terms, some traditions show an accommodative relationship between Islam and other religions, but some seem discriminatory. Thus, there are fluctuations and dynamics of relations between Islam and other religions, with nuances of harmony and disharmony. Therefore, there needs to be a reading of the hadiths constructively implemented in education as a conducive place for teaching Islam multicultural values

Abstract

Revealing the Prophetic Maqasid in the Hadith About Relationships between Men and WomenThe textual reading of the Prophet's hadith about the relationship between men and women often results in discriminatory and subordinating attitudes towards certain genders. This article aims to reread the hadith about the relationship between men and women. It emphasizes the disclosure of prophetic Maqasid or the orientation and purpose of prophethood in the hadith. This study uses a descriptive-analytical method by criticizing the traditions about the relationship between men and women contained in the books of Sunan Abi Dawud, al-Tirmidzi, and al-Darimi. The result shows that revealing the prophetic Maqasid in these traditions is urgent considering that the purpose of Muhammad's sending was to spread love to the universe based on monotheism (Tawhid). Tawhid is not only a verbal statement. It becomes the main foundation in building a socio-political-cultural order that promotes equality and balance between men and women. A balanced and harmonious relationship between the two becomes the Maqasid of the Prophet in every utterance and policy he established. The balance of relations between men and women by relying on a correct and comprehensive understanding of the hadith of the Prophet opens opportunities for women to perform and play the roles that need them for the good of humanity universally

Abstract

Dialectic of Science, Tradition and the Qur'an: Representation of Modernity in Tafsir Rahmat by Oemar BakryThe problem of interpretation in Indonesia which still refers to popular variation works impacts other understanding works ignored. This rejection has implications for the lack of disclosure of the peculiarities of an interpretation that can contribute to determining the method of interpretation in Indonesia. Tafsir Rahmat by Oemar Bakry is one of the interpretations that are rarely expressed in its content so that aspects of modernity are not revealed. This study aims to show parts of modernity in the Tafsir Rahmat in the form of dialectics between science, tradition, and the Qur'an. This research uses qualitative methods with content analysis as a data analysis tool. This research shows that Bakry provided a different view in the translation process by using modern terms to offer a breadth of understanding and ease. Science and technology are used to find wisdom (hikmah) and proving the truth of the Quran. The spirit of renewal carried by Bakry is also evident from the critical response to the traditions carried out by the people of Indonesia. The peculiarities in interpretation and translation that Bakry did were enough to make Tafsir Rahmat an object of study for dialectics to occur among researchers. It also impacts the dissemination of the content of this interpretation faster and affects the popularity of Tafsir Rahmat.

Abstract

In Surah Luqman Verses 12-19 contained the formulation of educational values primary of character education. Research on the content of the verse is necessary and compelling to instill character values in children and at the same time berate children from environmental influences. This study uses a qualitative strain with library research. The purpose is to know the values of character education contained in the Surah Luqman verses 12-19 and to determine its relevance to the character education of the Ministry of National Education. Content analysis is a method used for textual and language. This research carried out the three points of education as a reference in educating children. The points are Tawhid, Islamic laws, and moral education. Other results through this research are several methods used in instilling character values; (a) Method by example or qudwah Hashanah, (b) Method of story, and (c) Method of advice

Abstract

Predictive Hadith on the Murder of 'Uṡmān Bin 'Affān (Socio-Historical Analysis)This paper analyzes the predictive hadith of the murder of ‘Uṡmān ibn ‘Affān by using a socio-historical approach. Hadith as a source of Islamic teachings can’t be separated from the language that used by the Prophet. Among the forms of language that used in the hadith is prediction. Prophet often predict an event that will occur after his death, among of that was the murder of ‘Uṡmān. From the several books of hadith, only al-Mustadrak ‘alā al-Ṣaḥīḥain by al-Ḥākim (321-405 AH./933-1012 M.) explicitly narrated that hadith. The important question that will be answered in this paper is how the authenticity of the isnād (chain of transmitters) and the understanding of the predictive hadith about the murder of ‘Uṡmān? The authenticity of the predictive hadith can’t be said to be valid (ṣaḥīḥ), because there is a narrator who are considered less credible (gairu ṡiqah). The classical method of hadith criticism must be assisted by new scientific disiplines, so the hadith can be understandood comprehensively. By using the socio-historical approach and the theory of hadith criticism, this paper proves that the predictive hadith about the murder of ‘Uṡmān is considered valid (ṣaḥīḥ), because it is supported by historical data. Therefore, the predictive hadith of the murder of ‘Uṡmān can be justified for its authenticity accoding to socio-historical analysis

Abstract

Understanding the Miracles of the Qur'an from the Perspective of Tasyri', Mafaatihul Ghaib, and ScienceThis article aims to examine the miracles of the Qur'an in terms of tasyri’, Mafaatihul Ghaib, and science. In this article, researchers use qualitative research method (library research) which focuses on the study of miracle materials of al-Kariim Qur'an. As for the Qur'an in conveying laws that are taklifi  (loading) is special, by explaining the benefits, prohibitions, orders, madhorotnya, silence, prohibition and all aspects of the law. Then the miracle on the aspect of Mafaatihul Ghaib that the Qur'an contains some occult events that have been and will occur since ancient times until the future that can not be received only with human mind. While the miracle in the aspects of science in the Qur'an is explained about the process of the occurrence of the heavens and the earth, the elements of compounds, and also the function of the creation of mountains for the balance of the earth. Among them are the miracles described in the Qur'an, and of course there are many more aspects that become discussions about the miracles of the Qur'an

Abstract

Dissecting Hermeneutics from the Perspective of Modern Muslim Scientists: Its Correlation in the Study of Hadith SciencesThe development of Islamic studies in modern times affects information technology and the science of hadith is growing so rapidly. One of them is evidenced by the research base in 2021-2022 in Google Scholar, Science Direct, many academics have responded. The purpose of this study is to analyze the hermeneutical method of hadith from the point of view of modern Muslim scientists. This study uses the Research Library method. The data was obtained by capturing relevant journal articles through Google Scholar and Scientific Direct. Data analysts follow Miles and Huberman with the knife of theoretical triangulation analysis and documentation grids. The results of this study interpret those hermeneutics in the study of hadith as very broad and very dense in scope. Not only in the scope of the Qur'an, but also the hadith, it is also very religious, even the principles in hadith hermeneutics also exist. Muslim scientists who specialize in hermeneutics in the study of hadith include Fazlur Rahman with his Double Movement theory, Nasr Abu Hamid Zaid with his semantic hermeneutics in the study of jihad hadith, Muhammad Musthofa A'Zani with his criticism of the authenticity of his hadith, Hans Georg Gadamer with his philosophical hermeneutics, and Paul Ricoeur with his text Hermeneutics on the scope of hadith about mahram. Thus, the contribution or implications of this research focus on analyzing the hermeneutics developed by modern Muslim scientists. Hermeneutics is closely correlated with the study of hadith science today

Abstract

The Teaching of Resilience in the Al-Qur'an Surah Yusuf to Face the Covid-19 PandemicThis research aims to investigate the teaching of resilience in Surah Yusuf and its implementation for Indonesia amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. This study employs library research method with qualitative descriptive approach. Content analysis theory was used to analyse the text of Surah Yusuf and relevant commentaries, while the positive psychology approach is used for the implementation of resilience teachings to individuals and society. The results indicate that the concept of resilience in Surah Yusuf is generally built on three main factors including piety (I have), patience (I am), and iḥsān (I can). The aspects of resilience in Surah Yusuf which can be implemented amidst the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia are patience, gratitude, resignation, optimism, innovation, solution, self-confidence, reputation, empathy, forgiveness, trust, professionalism, and prayer. In the resilience teaching in Surah Yusuf, the role of spiritual values in the process of building resilience is more decisive, when compared to western model resilience. The higher the individual's spiritual value, the stronger the level of resilience
