Abstract

Hasil Observasi di MTs Negeri Bonang Demak ditemukan bahwa pembelajaran IPA sudah diterapkan secara terpadu, namun lembar kegiatan siswa (LKS) belum terpadu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan LKS IPA terpadu berbasis konstruktivisme dan  pengaruh penggunaan LKS terhadap hasil belajar dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan (R&D). Pada penelitian ini, produk yang telah dikembangkan divalidasi oleh pakar desain LKS dan pakar materi kemudian dilakukan pengujian skala terbatas dan skala luas. Data yang dianalisis adalah hasil validasi produk oleh pakar, angket tanggapan siswa, observasi kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa, dan hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penilaian pakar materi dan desain memperoleh persentase rata-rata skor ≥ 81% dengan kriteria sangat layak sehingga LKS IPA Terpadu berbasis konstruktivisme sangat layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Pada uji keefektifan menunjukkan bahwa LKS IPA terpadu berbasis konstruktivisme efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran dengan perolehan N-gain 0,52 dengan kriteria sedang dan persentase ketuntasan belajar siswa adalah 87% dengan KKM ≥ 70. LKS IPA Terpadu juga mampu mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dengan persentase rata-rata 67,50% dengan kriteria baik. Hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa LKS IPA Terpadu berbasis konstruktivisme sangat layak dan berpengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar serta mampu mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa sehingga dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Observation result in MTs Negeri Bonang showed that already implemented in an integrated manner , but the learning support (worksheet) have not been integrated. This study aims to determine the feasibility of integrated science based contructivism worksheet  and its impact on learning outcomes and skills creative thinking. The method used was Research & Development (R&D). In this study, the products that have been validated by experts developed worksheet design and materials experts then testing a limited -scale and wide  scale . Data analysis used is the result of a product validation by experts, student questionnaire responses, students' observation skills creative thinking, and student learning outcomes. Theresults of study showed that Integrated Science Worksheets Based on constructivism  implied in the criteria very feasible with an average percentage score of ≥ 81% on the assessment of the feasibility of the design and material. In testing the effectiveness suggests that integrative science based contrukivism worksheets effective used in the learning acquisition N-gains of 0.52 with average criteria and percentage of student’s the classical learning mastery was ≥ 85% with ≥ 70 standart of minimum completeness. Integrated science worksheet also able to equip students with the skills of creative thinking with percentage score 67.50%  criteria undeveloped skills. It can be concluded that the integrated science worksheets based konstruktivism has been proven very feasible and positive effect on learning outcomes and creative thinking skills to equip students so that learning science can be used in learning activities.

Abstract

Kurikulum 2013 mengharapkan pembelajaran yang lebih mengedepankan pengalaman personal, berorientasi siswa aktif, dan bersifat kontekstual. Salah satu pembelajaran yang sesuai adalah pembelajaran menggunakan alat peraga IPA Integrated Board yang dipadukan dengan kegiatan hands-on dan minds-on. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan metode control group pretest posttest design yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas siswa dan keefektifan penggunaan alat peraga IPA Integrated Board dengan perpaduan hands-on dan minds-on dalam pembelajaran IPA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas eksperimen adalah 86,01 sedangkan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa kelas kontrol adalah 81,25 dan persentase ketuntasan belajar klasikal kelas eksperimen mencapai 100% sedangkan pada kelas kontrol hanya mencapai 73% dari jumlah siswa. Rata-rata nilai semua aspek dalam kemampuan afektif antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol masing-masing sebesar 3,804 dan 2,993. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan alat peraga Integrated Board dengan perpaduan hands-on dan minds-on efektif meningkatkan pemahaman konsep belajar dan aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA tema cahaya dan optik. Curriculum 2013 expects learning that emphasizes personal experience, student-oriented, and contextual. One of many strategies to explain the lesson material attractively and pleasantly is by optimalizing the using of media, in this  case is the using of Integrated Board as science learning aid, that integrated with hands-on and minds-on activity. This was experimental research with control group pretest posttest design that aim to know students’ activity and the effectiveness of Integrated Board as science learning aid, that integrated with hands-on and minds-on activity. Result of the research showed that experimental students’ cognitive learning outcome average was 86.01, whereas control students’ was 81.25 and classical learning criteria of experimental group reached 100%, while control group 73%. The average value of all aspects of the affective abilities between the experimental group with the control group respectively 3.804 and 2.993. Whereas the average of all psychomotor aspect for experimental and control group were 3.727 and 3.011. The results of this research showed that used of Integrated Board as science learning aid, that integrated with hands-on and minds-on activity can increase improvements of students’ understanding, and students’ activity in the learning of science with theme light and optic.

Abstract

Implementasi Kurikulum 2013 mewajibkan sekolah baik SMP/MTs menerapkan pembelajaran IPA secara intregated science. IPA pada hakekatnya mempelajari tentang materi yang berhubungan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Keberhasilan siswa dalam suatu pembelajaran juga dipengaruhi besarnya minat belajar siswa terhadap materi yang disajikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan minat belajar siswa terhadap pembelajaran dengan menggunakan majalah sains berbasis contextual learning pada materi pemanasan global untuk siswa kelas VII SMP/MTs. Pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui metode dokumentasi, observasi, dan angket. Majalah sains diuji terlebih dahulu kelayakannya sebelum digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Uji kelayakan meliputi 2 tahap yakni tahap I dan tahap II oleh 9 orang pakar menggunakan instrumen kelayakan buku pelajaran menurut BSNP (2006). Pengukuran peningkatan minat belajar siswa dilakukan dengan menggunakan angket ARCS yang dikembangkan Keller (1987), yang diberikan pada awal dan akhir pembelajaran. Pembelajaran dilakukan selama 4 kali pertemuan. Minat belajar yang diukur meliputi 4 aspek yakni, attention, relevance, confidence, dan satisfaction. Hasil analisis data diperoleh bahwa peningkatan untuk masing-masing aspek memperoleh skor sebesar 0,23 untuk attention, 0,20 untuk relevance, 0,16 untuk confidence, dan 0,16 untuk satisfaction. Sehingga rerata skor sebesar 0,19 dengan kriteria rendah. Implementation of Curriculum 2013 requires schools either SMP / MTs intregated apply science learning in science. IPA is essentially the study of material related to everyday life. The success of students in a learning also influenced the magnitude of students' interest in learning the material presented. This study aims to determine the increase in students' interest towards learning using contextual learning-based science magazine on global warming material for students of class VII SMP / MTs. The collection of data obtained through the method of documentation, observation, and questionnaires. Science magazine tested first before being used in the feasibility study. Due diligence includes 2 stages of phase I and phase II by 9 experts on the feasibility of using the instrument according BSNP textbook (2006). Measurement increase student interest ARCS performed using a questionnaire developed by Keller (1987), which is given at the beginning and end of the study. Learning is done for 4 meetings. Interest in learning as measured includes four aspects namely, attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction. The results of the data analysis showed that the increase for each aspect of obtaining a score of 0.23 for attention, 0.20 for relevance, 0.16 for confidence, and 0.16 for satisfaction. So that the mean score of 0.19 with a low criteria.

Abstract

Permasalahan hasil pembelajaran IPA di SMP Negeri 1 Juwana perlu ditingkatkan karena pembelajaran IPA kurang menarik minat siswa dan terbatasnya penggunaan media pembelajaran. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kelayakan dan keefektifan media flashcard berpendekatan PRAMEK yang telah dikembangkan peneliti. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research and Development. Langkah-langkah penelitian dikembangkan dengan menggunakan metode R & D. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media flashcard layak dan efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran IPA Terpadu  tema energi pada makhluk hidup. Skor kelayakan penilaian mencapai 96,87% sesuai kriteria layak dari BSNP yang telah dimodifikasi. Ketuntasan klasikal yang diperoleh siswa pada uji pelaksanaan lapangan mencapai 94% yang artinya media flashcard efektif diterapkan untuk pembelajaran IPA. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan media flashcard  berpendekatan PRAMEK layak dan efektif digunakan serta mendapatkan respon yang positif oleh siswa dalam pembelajaran tema energi pada makhluk hidup. The problems of science learning result in Junior High School 1 Juwana needs to be increased because the study of sciene did not make the students to be interested and  too little using of learning media. The purpose of this research was to know the feasibility and effectiveness of flashcard media which Approach of  PRAMEK which has been developed researcher. This research is a Research and Development. Research steps using the method developed by R & D. The results showed that a feasible and  effective flashcard media applied in science learning integrated with theme energy of  living thing. The feasibility assessment scores reached 96,87% according to the criteria to qualify as a National Education Standards. The classical completeness obtained test students on field implementation is 94 % it means flashcard media effectively applied to science learning integrated. Based on the results of the study concluded that a flashcard media  which approach of  PRAMEK  are feasible and  effective  can be used and get positive response from students in science learning integrated with  theme is energy of living thing.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA merupakan pembelajaran yang membahas materi yang kita alami dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Keingintahuan siswa terhadap materi yang mereka pelajari di sekolah terhadap kaitannya dengan kehidupan sehari-hari mereka kurang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar dan perkembangan karakter rasa ingin tahu siswa melalui pembelajaran berpendekatan CTL pada materi zat adiktif dan psikotropika pada siswa SMP kelas VIII SMP. Pengumpulan data meliputi dokumentasi, tes dan observasi. Karakter rasa ingin tahu dilihat melalui observasi yang dilakukan saat pembelajaran berlangsung selama 4 pertemuan.Terdapat 4 aspek karakter rasa ingin tahu yang diamati, terjadi peningkatan rasa ingin tahu siswa dari pertemuan ke-1 hingga pertemuan ke-4 pada pembelajaran zat adiktif dan psikotropika. Karakter rasa ingin tahu yang didapatkan pada pertemuan ke-4 sebesar 62,60% dengan kriteria “Mulai Berkembang”. Sedangkan pada hasil belajar kognitif siswa tidak terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan ditinjau dari uji N-Gain. Learning science ins learning that cover topics that we experience in everday life. Curiosity of students to the material they are learning in school to do with their daily life less. This study aims to determine the improvement of learning the material CTL approach addictive and psychotropic subtances in the eighth grade junior high school students. The data collection includes documentation, tests, and observation. Curiosity character seen thriug observation made during the learning take place for 4 meeting. The 4 aspects of character curiosiry observed, an increase in the curiosity of students from 1st meeting to 4thmeeting on learning addictive and psichotropic subtances. Curios character the was 4th meeting with percentage 62.60% with criteria grow begin. Meanwhile, in learning achievement no significancy increase by N-Gain.

Abstract

Berdasarkan observasi awal di SMP Negeri 2 Magelang  diperoleh pemanfaatan sumber belajar dan media pembelajaran IPA belum terpadu, siswa belum sepenuhnya aktif dalam pembelajaran serta pembelajaran masih berpusat pada guru. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa science circuit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan dan keefektifan media science circuit berbasis Edutainment pada pembelajaran tema optik untuk meningkatkan minat dan hasil belajar siswa.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D). Prosedur penelitian ini meliputi identifikasi potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain produk, revisi desain, uji coba skala kecil, revisi produk 1, uji coba skala besar, revisi produk 2, uji pelaksanaan lapangan, dan produk final. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, media science circuit berbasis edutainment dinyatakan layak dengan rata-rata persentase total validasi media sebesar 90% dengan kriteria sangat layak, validasi materi sebesar 95% dengan kriteria sangta layak. Penerapan media science circuit berbasis edutainment diperoleh hasil yang menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar dengan N-Gain sebesar 0,58 dengan kategori sedang. Minat belajar siswa juga meningkat dilihat dari hasil angket minat sebelum dan sesudah penerapan media science circuit. Peningkatan minat dan hasil belajar siswa menunjukkan bahwa penerapan media science circuit berbasis edutainment dinyatakan efektif. Based on the observation in SMP Negeri 2 Magelang, acquired that the utilization of learning source and media are yet integrated. The class are teacher centered, so then the students are became more inactive. According to these problems, the research is purposed to develop science  circuit as a learning media. This research in intent on knowing te expediency of the science circuit with Edutainment-based in learning of  optic topics, for increasing Students’ interest and learning result. This research is using Research and Development (R&D) method. The procedure was the identification of potential research and issues, data submission, design product, validation design, design revisions, small-scale trials, product 1 revision, a large-scale trials, product 2 revision, implementation scale trials and the final product. According to the research result, science circuit  with Edutainment- based is asserted as a proper media, which is the average of total score percentage is 90%. It also has a proper content of learning materials, which is the average of total score percentage is 95%. Both of these percentage show that science circuit is include in very properly category. Application of the science circuit with Edutainment-based was indicating the increasing of he learning result, with the N-Gain score is 0.58 (average category). Student’s interest were also increasing, which is pointed out in the questionnaire that given before and after applicating science circuit in the class. Increasing of students’ interest and the learning result are showing us that applicating the science circuit with Edutainment-based is effective to be used.

Abstract

Proses pembelajaran IPA ditingkat SMP dalam kurikulum 2013 dilaksanakan dengan berbasis keterpaduan (integrative science), sehingga setiap guru IPA harus memiliki kompetensi dalam membelajarkan IPA secara terpadu. Keterpaduan ini meliputi integrasi dalam bidang IPA dapat ditunjukan melalui LKS. Berdasarkan observasi di SMP Negeri 1 Batangan, LKS yang digunakan belum dapat mengoptimalkan kecerdasan siswa serta belum menunjukan keterpaduan konsep IPA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik, kelayakan dan keefektifan LKS dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Desain penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa LKS ini dikembangkan berdasarkan lima kecerdasan dominan siswa, yakni kecerdasan logis-matematis, jasmaniah-kinestetik, visual-spasial, interpersonal dan eksistensial-spiritual. Pengembangan LKS IPA berbasis multiple intelligences ini dinyatakan layak sesuai instrumen BSNP dengan rata-rata skor validasi komponen isi 3,70, komponen kebahasaan 3,87, dan komponen penyajian 3,67. Penerapan LKS IPA berbasis multiple intelligences diukur melalui uji N-gain dengan nilai peningkatan sebesar 0,71 berkriteria tinggi. Sementara itu, sikap kreatif siswa diukur dengan lembar observasi dan mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata skor ≥62% pada setiap pertemuannya. Hal ini menunjukan adanya peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada penerapan LKS IPA berbasis multiple intelligences, sehingga LKS ini dinyatakan efektif. The process of science learning for the junior high in 2013 implemented based integerated science curiculum, so every science teacher should have competence to teach it. This integration can be shown by student worksheets. Based on the observation in SMP Negeri 1 Batangan, it was that use student worksheet for science activity. It is not yet optimalization for student multiple intelligences and creativity, also unknown integrated science concept about it. This research aims to determine characteristics, the feasibility and effectiveness of multiple intelligences-science worksheet. This research used of Research and Development (R&D) design. The result is it develope based on five multiple intelligences for students. They are logic-matematic, kinestethic, visual-spacial, interpersonal and exsistensial-spiritual intelligences. Based on the results of the study it was found on that the feasibility of multiple-intelligences student worksheet showed eligible criteria based on BSNP with average score of content validation is 3.70, then average score of linguistic validation is 3.87 and average score of presentation validation is 3.67. Based on implementation, it was that multiple intelligences-science worksheet found the results indicate that the increase creative thinking skill in learning outcomes with N-gain was 0.71 with a high criteria. Then, creative attitude of student is increase for every meeting with average score ≥62%. This shows an increase in students' creative thinking skillfor the application of science-based multiple intelligences-worksheets, so this worksheet  declared effective.

Abstract

Hasil observasi awal di SMP Negeri 2 Kendal menunjukkan bahwa penilaian kompetensi psikomotorik belum sepenuhnya dikembangkan guru dalam pembelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik, kelayakan, kepraktisan, dan hasil kinerja siswa setelah menggunakan instrumen performance assessment berpendekatan scientific yang dikembangkan pada tema Kalor dan Perpindahannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan Metode Research and Development (R&D). Prosedur penelitian meliputi identifikasi potensi dan masalah, perencanaan, desain instrumen penilaian, validasi desain, revisi desain, uji coba skala terbatas, revisi instrumen penilaian 1, uji coba pemakaian, revisi instrumen penilaian 2, dan produk final. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa instrumen performance assessment yang dikembangkan bercirikan kegiatan ilmiah (scientific), yang terdiri atas kegiatan mengamati, menanya, mencoba, menalar, dan mengomunikasikan. Instrumen performance assessment berpendekatan scientific dinyatakan sangat layak dengan rerata persentase skor oleh validator substansi sebesar 95,19% dan validator bahasa sebesar 91,23%. Kepraktisan penggunaan instrumen performance assessment berpendekatan scientific pada tema Kalor dan Perpindahannya diperoleh hasil persentase skor sebesar 96,88% dengan kriteria sangat baik. Hasil analisis data juga menunjukkan bahwa instrumen performance assessment yang dikembangkan sudah reliabel, dengan koefisien reliabilitas rata-rata rating dari tiga orang rater sebesar 0,837 dan koefisien reliabilitas rata-rata rating bagi setiap raternya sebesar 0,659. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa 81,25% siswa sangat terampil dalam kegiatan praktikum, sedangkan 18,75% sisanya dalam kriteria terampil. The  result of initial observation  on SMPN 2 Kendal shows that assessment on  psychomotor competence have not been fully developed by the teacher in the Natural Science learning process. This researches to find out the characteristics, feasibility, practicability and also students performance after using performance assessment instrument using scientific approach that is developed on the Heat and its Movements theme. This research used Research and Development (R&D) method. The procedures include problems and potential identification, planning, designing instrument for assessment, design validation, design revision, limited-scale trial, revisions of assessment instrument 1, application trial, revision of assessment instrument 2, and the final product. Result of the research shows that performance assessment instrument developed has characteristics as scientific activity that consists of observing activity, questioning, experimenting, associating, and communicating. Performance assessment instrument using scientific approach is stated very decent with the mean percentage substance validator score of 95.19% and language validator of 91.23%. Practicability of using this instrument, performance assessment instrument using scientific approach on the Heat and Its Movements theme, obtained the result percentage score of 96.88% with very well criteria. The data analysis results indicate that performance assessment instrument developed is already reliable, with coefficient of reliability in average rating of the three raters of 0.837 and coefficient of reliability in average rating for each rater of 0.659. The research results also indicate that 81.25% of students is highly skilled in lab work activity, while the rest, 18.75%, is included in skilled criteria.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji proses pengembangan dan keefektifan video pada pembelajaran IPA terpadu tema mikroskop untuk siswa MTs. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Research and Development (R&D). Ada dua tahapan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu tahap proses pengembangan video pembelajaran dan uji efektivitas. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penilaian validator terhadap video pembelajaran sangat layak. Pada  uji coba produk siswa dan guru memberikan penilaian rata-rata sangat layak video pembelajaran. Dalam penelitian ini efektivitas diukur dari signifikansi pengaruh keterampilan siswa menggunakan mikroskop yang mencapai 91% dan signifikansi pengaruh pemahaman siswa yang mencapai nilai 77,5. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa video efektif dan layak digunakan pada pembelajaran IPA terpadu tema mikroskop untuk siswa MTs peneliti nyatakan layak dipakai pada pembelajaran mikroskop kelas VII MTs asy-Syarifiyah Sarirejo. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the development process and the video on the theme of integrated science teaching microscopes for students MTs . This study uses the approach of Research and Development ( R & D ) . There are two stages in this study , the stage of the development process and test the effectiveness of instructional videos . The results of this study indicate that the assessment validator to the video is well worth learning . In product testing gives students and teachers the average valuation is well worth learning videos . In this study measured the effectiveness of the significance of the influence of students' skills using a microscope reached 91 % and the significance of understanding the influence of students who achieve a score of 77.5 . Based on the results of the study showed that the effective and appropriate use of video on the theme of integrated science teaching microscopes for students declared unfit junior researchers on learning class VII MTs microscope asy- Syarifiyah Sarirejo .

Abstract

Salah satu model pembelajaran yang sesuai adalah pembelajaran berbasis proyek dengan tema pencemaran lingkungan. Pembelajaran IPA berbasis proyek dapat meningkatkan aktivitas siswa di kelas dan mendukung perkembangan karakteristik habits of mind siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan instrumen penilaian habits of mind yang valid dan reliabel untuk diterapkan dalam pembelajaran IPA berbasis proyek pada tema pencemaran lingkungan dan mengetahui karakteristik habits of mind siswa yang tampak setelah mengikuti pembelajaran IPA berbasis proyek. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research and Development (R&D) dan dilaksanakan di SMP N 6 Temanggung pada siswa kelas VII. Bentuk instrumen penilaian habits of mind berupa lembar penilaian guru berdasarkan penugasan proyek dan penugasan individu, serta lembar penilaian diri siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa instrumen penilaian habits of mind untuk pembelajaran IPA berbasis proyek mendapatkan nilai sangat layak dengan persentase 91% dari pakar evaluasi dan 93,75% dari pakar bahasa. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa kriteria dari karakteristik habits of mind ‘berpikir dan berkomunikasi dengan jelas dan cermat’, ‘berpikir secara interdependen’, dan ‘memeriksa akurasi’ yang tampak setelah siswa mengikuti proses pembelajaran IPA berbasis proyek adalah ‘mulai berkembang’. Hasil penelitian ini sesuai dengan teori perkembangan kognitif menurut Piaget tentang tahap operasional formal. Respon positif siswa terhadap penerapan instrumen penilaian habits of mind dalam pembelajaran IPA berbasis proyek mencapai 87% pada tahap uji coba skala besar dan 89,2% pada tahap uji penerapan. One of suitable learning model is project-based learning with the theme of environmental pollution. Project-based sciene learning can enhance the acitivity of student in the classroom and support the development of student’s habits of mind characteristic. The development of habits of mind necessary to get attention from the teacher because a good habits of mind can help student in solving their problem. This research aims to develop a habits of mind assessment instrument that valid and reliable to be applied in project-based science learning with environmental pollution theme and to know the student’s habits of mind characteristics after they follow project-based science learning. This study is Research and Development (R&D) and implemented to 7th grade students in SMP N 6 Temanggung. Form of habits of mind assessment instrument consist of the teacher evaluation sheet based on project assignment and individual assignment, and also student self-assessment sheet. The result showed that the habits of mind assessment instrument for project-based science learning get very decent value with 91% from the expert of evaluation and 93.75% from the expert of language. The result also show that the criteria of the habits of mind characteristics ‘thinking and communicating with clarity and precision’, ‘thinking interdependently', and ‘striving for accuracy’, which looks after the students follow a project-based science learning process is ‘start growing’ criteria. That result is appropriate with Piaget’s theory of cognitive development about concrete operational stage. Positive response of students to the implementation of habits of mind assessment instrument in project-based science learning reached 87% at the stage of large-scale trials and 89.2% in the implementation test.
