Abstract

Lirik lagu atau syair lagu sebagai bagian dari genre puisi, sangat menarik untuk diteliti. Kemenarikan sebuah lirik lagu bukan hanya terletak pada indahnya syair yang menyertai, melainkan struktur dan makna teksnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji struktur dan makna teks lagu-lagu berbahasa Indonesia yang muncul decade 60-70-an yang mengambil tema bunga. Secara formal fisik bunga itu sudah indah, apalagi jika bung itu dituang ke dalam lirik lagu dengan gaya Bahasa yang penuh simbolisme. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengkaji penelitian ini adalah metode struktural hermeneutik. Structural untuk mengkaji struktur lagu, bentuk lahiriah formal sebuah lagu, diksi dan gaya bahasanya, dan hermeneutic digunakan untuk menafsir makna teks lagu. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa struktur lagu berbahasa Indonesia bertema bunga yang diteliti menggunakan bentuk struktur puisi lama seperti syair, pantun, gurindam. Diksi menggunakan kata-kata dalam bahasa konotatif dengan gaya  paralelisme yang dominan. Sedangkan makna yang ditemukan lebih banyak mengandung makna konotatif, dalam bentuk simbolisme, daripada makna denotatif, sehingga dapat membangkitkan rasa keindahan yang mendalam pada diri orang yang membaca atau menyanyikan lirik lagu tersebut.

Abstract

Masyarakat Sekadau sesungguhnya memiliki berbagai bentuk sastra lisan, akan tetapi tidak banyak para generasi mudanya mengenal bentuk-bentuk sastra lisan tersebut. Proses pewarisan sastra lisan dari para tetua ke generasi muda tidak berjalan sebagaimana yang diharapkan. Semakin sedikitnya orang-orang yang menguasai berbagai bentuk sastra lisan di kota Sekadau. Tujuan penelitian yang peneliti lakukan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai-nilai budaya yang terkandung dalam Manusia, Lingkungan, dan Sang Pencipta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan bentuk penelitian kualitatif, yaitu deskripsi nilai-nilai budaya dalam masyarakat Sekadau. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah dengan teknik wawancara, catat, dan dokumen tertulis. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan menganalisis nilai-nilai budaya (Melayu) dalam hubungan manusia, lingkungan, dan Sang Pencipta pada masyarakat Sekadau.

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan hubungan koherensi yang digunakan untuk membangun keutuhan wacana menulis dalam novel Guru Aini karya Andrea Hirata. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan isi penelitian. Sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Guru Aini karya Andrea Hirata, terdiri dari dua puluh lima bab yang diterbitkan oleh PT Bentang Pustaka, Yogyakarta pada tahun 2020. Data penelitian ini menggunakan kutipan yang ada dalam novel Guru Aini karya Andrea Hirata. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan dari hubungan koherensi yang digunakan untuk membangun keutuhan wacana terdiri atas (1) Hubungan Pertentangan, (2) Hubungan Generik-spesifik, (3) Hubungan Perbandingan, (4) Hubungan Pengaruh-hasil, (5) Hubungan Tujuan, (6) Hubungan Rujukan.

Abstract

AbstractThis research aimed to present the findings of English modals in modal verb phrase structures in educational essays of ‘Sherry Johnson’ and ‘Tamjid Mujtaba’, which to increase the learners’ awareness of modals when they hesitate in the foreign language, which is the very common in writing. This research used qualitative research to analyze the modal verb phrase in educational essays of ‘Sherry Johnson’ and ‘Tamjid Mujtaba’. This research has found that the most frequent modal verbs in these essays are can, may, will, should, would, and must. The researchers found 23 different modal verbs in ‘Sherry Johnson’ and ‘Tamjid Mujtaba’ academic essays documents that indicate actions, states and conditions associated with education. The most used modals were in ‘Tamjid Mujtaba’ essay, it produced 12 modals. These results correspond with the definition of these documents. The findings are proofing of how language expresses the characteristics of an academic text type in a professional and academic way domain.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a model to improve the quality of StL schools this is to ensure that it can be applied at schools in Sintang Regency under the challenging needs and potentials they have, based on the school perspective. The result of this study was expected to provide description of the How far has the activities included in StL model been applied by school, what challenges did urban and rural schools face in implementing the activities of StL model, how is StL model which could be apply in urban and rural schools locally and contextually. This research was multiple case study which was conducted by using a descriptive qualitative approach involving 4 schools spread across Sintang Regency, namely in rural and urban areas. In this case, the 4 schools are middle schools which include 2 different districts, namely Sintang District and Sepauk District. The technique of data collection used in this research was direct communication in the form of semi-structured-interview and the tool was interview guidance. The data analysis used in this research was descriptive qualitative, using thematic analysis and cross case analysis techniques. The result of this study was recommendation for improving the application of StL model been applied by considering which StL model that could be apply locally, contextually and the challenges found by schools in implementing StL model.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis argumentasi siswa STKIP Melawi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group. Hasil penelitian ini adalah 1) pretest rata-rata kemampuan argumentasi siswa kelas kontrol adalah 54,94, posttes 57,20, sedangkan kelas eksperimen mendapat nilai rata-rata pretest 51,44, dan posttes 80,04; 2) Tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan menulis argumentasi pada tes pretest antara kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen, sedangkan pada posttest ada perbedaan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan menulis argumentasi antara kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen.

Abstract

Recent research developments have an increased focus on the complexity and the dynamic nature of language practices. Translanguaging views multilingual speakers as having one integrated language repertoire which they can use strategically to communicate and involve in the process of meaning-making activities. This research aims to investigate attitudes and practices of translanguaging among English department students in the Language Assessment course at Universitas Bunda Mulia, Jakarta. A series of observations and semi-structured interviews were used to collect data to five students. The data were interpreted using a thematic analysis and critically evaluated using the sociocultural theory of mind. This research revealed that the students translanguaged not only for cognitive functions, but also for creative and critical linguistic practices. Positive attitudes were also demonstrated through the students’ active participation in using their full repertoires. Further pedagogical implications in this particular context are also discussed.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the practice of online learning in urban and rural areas in Melawi Regency. This study involved schools located in urban and rural areas. This study uses a descriptive type of research with a qualitative approach. Collecting data using semi-structured interviews, with interview tools using interview guidelines. In this study there were 3 schools involved, where 2 schools were in urban areas, 1 school was in rural areas, each school had 5 informants, the number of informants was 15 people, consisting of 1 principal, 2 English teachers, and 2 students. The findings of this study indicate the process of online learning practices that exist in urban and rural areas. Furthermore, the thematic analysis and cross-case analysis used show that the application of online learning has differences in each application in 3 schools in urban and rural areas, namely using full online learning and hybrid learning, namely online and offline modes, the obstacles faced are limited facilities, stability internet network and decreased student interest in learning. The potential for future improvements is the hope of support from the government to improve the obstacles faced in online learning in rural and urban areas in Melawi Regency.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis implikatur percakapan bahasa melayu dialek selimbau. Latar belakang karena komunikasi sering terjadi dilingkungan masyarakat, pada saat berkomunikasi sering kali memiliki makna yang tersirat dalam tuturan tersebut, tetapi komunikasi dapat berjalan lancar dan tujuan komunikasi dapat tercapai. Penelitian ini masuk ke dalam jenis penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik observasi, simak libat cakap, wawancara, dan teknik catat. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan adalah peneliti sendiri sebagai instrument utama yang di bantu alat-alat berupa alat rekam, catatan lapangan, pedoman wawancara, dan kamera. Teknik pemeriksaan keabsahan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan ketekunan atau keajegan pengamatan, trianggulasi sumber dan teori. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan model analisis interaktif Miles dan Huberman.

Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the process types that characterize the students’ recount texts, identifying the process types which are dominantly used, and identifying the circumstantial elements that characterize the students’ recount texts. This study applied a descriptive qualitative method with a case study research. The recount texts written by class XI Usaha Perjalanan Wisata (UPW) 2 at SMK Wira Harapan were used as the sources of data collection of the study. There were 26 students taken as the subjects of the study. The data of the study which are in the form of sentences and clauses were analyzed based on transitivity system, and the problems experienced by the students in writing the recount texts were discussed through focus group interview in order to determine whether the students made mistakes or errors in their texts. The study discovers that, first, the process types that characterize the students’ recount texts are material process, intensive attributive process, mental process, circumstantial attributive process, verbal process, possessive attributive process, intensive identifying process, existential process, circumstantial identifying process, and behavioral process, which respectively appears 566 times (60.66%), 149 times (15.97%), 100 times (10.72%), 35 times (3.75%), 29 times (3.11%), 21 times (2.25%), 17 times (1.82%), 9 times (0.96%), 4 times (0.43%), and 3 times (0.32%). Second, the process type which is dominantly used in the students’ recount texts is material process with the frequency of occurrence of 565 times (60.82%). The material process was used dominantly since the topics written by the students were related to past activities. Third, the circumstantial elements characterizing the students’ recount texts are location, cause, manner, extent, accompaniment, matter, and role. The results of the focus group interview and the text analysis show that the students made many mistakes and errors in their recount texts, such as the uses of past tense, article, spellings, modal auxiliary, capital letter, plurality, and preposition in a clause. The two aspects leading the deviations are interlingual and intralingual errors.
