Abstract

Mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan dalam mempelajari fonetik karena penggunaan media ajar di kelas yang minim. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat pengembangan bahan ajar web funetic.id. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (RD) mengadaptasi model 4D. Dalam penelitian ini hanya digunakan 3 tahap, yaitu tahap pendefinisian, tahap perancangan, dan tahap pengembangan. Hasil penelitian pada tahap pertama, yaitu kesulitan mempelajari fonetik disebabkan oleh perbedaan sistem bunyi bahasa Inggris dan bahasa Indonesia sehingga menyebabkan mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan dalam mengingat cara dan tempat menghasilkan bunyi. Hasil penelitian tahap kedua yaitu perancangan media ajar fonetik menggunakan website funetic.id. Hasil penelitian pada tahap ketiga yaitu media ajar funetic.id layak untuk dilakukan uji coba kepada mahasiswa.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis soal Ujian Nasional (UN) Bahasa Indonesia tingkat SMP pada tahun ajaran 2018/2019 berdasarkan kebijakan pendidikan yang berlaku. Penelitian yang dilaksanakan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Pada penelitian ini, yang menjadi instrumen penelitian adalah human instrument atau peneliti itu sendiri. Peneliti melakukan teknik baca dan catat dengan berpedoman pada kisi-kisi analisis butir soal Bahasa Indonesia berdasarkan Surat Keputusan BSNP Nomor 0296/SKEP/BSNP/XI/2018 tentang Kisi-Kisi Ujian UN untuk Jenjang Dasar dan Menengah. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara dokumentasi. Uji keabsahan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji kredibilitas. Hasil yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini adalah terdapat level kognitif dan lima macam lingkup materi pada soal Ujian Nasional (UN) Bahasa Indonesia tingkat SMP pada tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, dapat diketahui bahwa soal Ujian Nasional (UN) Bahasa Indonesia tingkat SMP pada tahun ajaran 2018/2019 memiliki kesesuaian dengan Surat Keputusan BSNP Nomor 0296/SKEP/BSNP/XI/2018 pada pasal 1, 2, 3, dan 4. Kata Kunci: Ujian Nasional, Bahasa Indonesia, Kebijakan Pendidikan. AbstractThis study aims to analyze questions on the Indonesian National Examination (UN) at the junior high school level in the 2018/2019 school year based on applicable education policies. Research carried out using qualitative descriptive methods. In this study, the research instrument is the human instrument or the researcher himself. The researcher conducted a reading and note taking technique based on the analysis of Indonesian item test points based on BSNP Decree Number 0296/SKEP/BSNP/XI/2018 about the National Examination Grid for Basic and Secondary Levels. Data is collected by means of documentation. Test the validity of the data in this study using a credibility test. The results found in this study are there are cognitive levels and five kinds of scope of material in the Indonesian National Examination (UN) questions at junior high school level in the 2018/2019 school year. Based on this, it can be seen that the Indonesian National Examination (UN) questions at the junior high school level in the 2018/2019 school year are in conformity with BSNP Decree Number 0296/SKEP/BSNP/XI/2018 in articles 1, 2, 3, and 4. Keywords: national examination, indonesian language, education policy.

Abstract

Teaching students tolerance values play an important role to give them knowledge about how to live together in harmony, respect others, avoid potential conflicts and so on. This study is aimed at analyzing tolerance values representation in the 1st grade of Junior High School EFL Textbook published by Indonesian Ministry for Education and Culture (Kemendikbud). There are 4 kinds of tolerance values were analyzed; peace maker, cultural diversity, democracy and religious values. Qualitative content analysis was used to analyze tolerance values representation in the texts, illustrations, instructions, and exercises of the textbooks. The research shows that the textbook covers 72 tolerance values; 24 peace maker, 19 cultural diversity, 15 democracy, and 14 religious values. However, the textbook needs deeper exploration about the values to help students get vivid points of view about tolerance by giving them more real-life samples, and discussions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi keinginan peneliti untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara dalam seminar dengan menggunakan metode Drill pada mahasiswa IKIP PGRI Pontianak. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan proses pelaksanaan pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara dalam matakuliah seminar dengan menggunakan metode  Drill pada mahasiswa IKIP PGRI Pontianak. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif dengan bentuk Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (classroom action research). Adapun teknik pengumpul data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik observasi, wawancara, dan tes. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi, lembar wawancara, dan tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik statistik deskriptif  komparatif dan teknik analisis kritis.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan hal-hal berikut. Hasil proses pembelajaran  mahasiswa siklus I persentase keseluruhannya adalah 66,40% sedangkan hasil proses pembelajaran mahasiswa siklus II persentase 78,20%. Hasil observasi mahasiswa pada siklus I dan siklus II ini ada peningkatan, meningkat 11,8%.

Abstract

Positive education for students has an impact on improving wellbeing. The cultivation of positive educational values can be integrated into all learning activities, especially reading activities. This study aims to make the extensive reading text as supplementary material in English courses that contain positive educational values for the readers. It is hoped that after reading the text in this book, the readers will not only improve their English skills but also have a psychological effect that can motivate students to love learning and be persistent in learning in general, learning English in particular. Primary data obtained in this study were obtained directly from respondents, in the form of exploratory results carried out in preliminary studies carried out through discussions with experts related to content and language, as well as data on limited trial results on 1st-semester students at a university in Pontianak. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire instrument. This study uses the Research and Development approach developed by Doolitle (2015). The results of the validation from the content validator, the language validator, and the students showed that the book was suitable for use even though it had to go through several revisions.

Abstract

In this era, preparing the students for the 21st century is one of the demands in education which is using ICT in the learning activity. With all the skills that are required, the students are expected to be able to compete in the global marketplace in the future. Working in a team is also important thing to train for the students in this era. This research focuses on using ICT based project in teaching activity especially in learning basic airplane components. The research involved 40 students with two classes of the year 2019. This research will answer two research questions which are (1) What are the students’ perception of the benefits on the implementation of ICT supported PBL to the language skill development? and (2) What are the students’ perceptions of the benefits on implementation of ICT supported PBL to the self-development? This research applied a case study. The instruments used to support this research were the researcher as the main instrument, a questionnaire and the students reports. The implementation of ICT brings the positive learning environment where the students participate to develop their knowledge and skill process.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan pengembangan kosakata Bahasa Inggris dan kualitas penggunaan cartoon strips sebagai media dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Penelitian adalah penelitian RnD (Penelitian dan Pengembangan). Sebanyak 37 siswa kelas X SMKN 1 Sanggau sebagai subyek penelitian ini. Penelitian pengembangan ini mengikuti tujuh langkah penelitian, meliputi : 1) penelitian dan pengumpulan data,  2) perencanaan,  3) pengembangan produk awal,  4) uji coba awal,  5) revisi desain,  6) uji coba lapangan, dan  7) revisi dan penyempurnaan produk. Hasil analisis kebutuhan mengungkapkan bahwa subjek membutuhkan media yang nyata dengan warna yang menarik. Temuan lainya menunjukkan bahwa produk media pembelajaran kosakata bahasa Inggris berupa cartoon strips layak digunakan bagi siswa SMK. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa cartoon strips dapat diaplikasikan sebagai media dalam proses pembelajaran kosakata Bahasa Inggris di kelas. AbstractThe purpose of this research was  to describe the development of English vocabulary and the quality of cartoon strips for media in English teaching learning process. This research was  a  Research and Development (RnD). The subjects were 37 students in the X  grade state of SMKN 1 Sanggau. This research development followed seven steps including: 1) researching and collecting data, 2) planning, 3) initial product development, 4) initial trial, 5) revision, 6) field trial, 7) revision and completion of product. Based on need analysis, students need colorfull and interesting media. Therefore,  it could be concluded  that cartoon strips was applicable as a media in English vocabulary teaching learning process in the classroom..Keywords: Cartoon Strips, English Vocabulary, SMK, Research and Development

Abstract

This study aims to describe the structure, function, and meaning of self-compassion mantra in Nyirih river Village, Selakau District. The research method used a descriptive method with a qualitative form, using a structural approach. Data collection tools using observation sheets, interviews. The technique of analyzing data in this research is transcription, data classification, analysis, and inference. Based on the results of data analysis carried out on 15 self-compassion mantras, the following results were obtained. In the 15 spells studied, there are spell structures, namely the elements of title, opening, intention, suggestion, purpose, and closing, with the function of the mantra, 1 quote serves as a conqueror of evil, 13 quotes serve as filler of supernatural powers, 15 quotes serve as a medium of communication with God, 7 quotes serve as a charm for romance, and 2 quotes serve as shackles for the human spirit and the jinn. While the meaning of the mantra contained in the 15 mantras has a connotative meaning. This research was implemented in the seventh grade junior high school odd semester, with KD 3.14 and 4.14 material of folk poetry.

Abstract

In the current pandemic situation, reaching the goals of learners’ speaking skill fluently and accurately are not enough only determined by the lecturers’ strategy but also learners’ enthusiasm to use appropriate speaking learning strategy. The presents study aimed to identify what speaking learning strategy used by the learners, different strategies used by learners’ who are having low and high achievement, and then the dominant strategy employed by the learners. The study applied descriptive study, then the participants were 50 third semester students, chosen from 5 classes of English education study program of IKIP PGRI Pontianak. The tools of collecting data, the participants were asked to fill a questionnaire and to do a speaking test. The findings revealed all strategies almost used by the learners to develop their speaking skill, meanwhile the different strategies used by the students who are having low and high achievement are found in frequency of use the strategies and varieties of strategy in learning speaking skill. From the six strategies of learning speaking skill, as indicated in this study, the dominant strategy which have been employed by the learners is afektif strategy.
