The Dinamika Teknik Mesin is a peer-reviewed academic journal which publishes originally research papers or simulation/computational articles in all aspect of Mechanical Engineering such as energy conversion, materials, design and production/ manufacturing. The Dinamika Teknik Mesin publishes in two issues per volume annually appearing in June and December. Due to administrative constraints, then starting in January 2018, the Dinamika Teknik Mesin publishes the volume and issue in January and July. However, starting in 2020, the Dinamika Teknik Mesin publishes issues in April and October due to the new administration.

Abstract

The fuel is a source of energy with greatest consumption today. Where that stock is become less until 2025th. That’s way, it must to find some new energy to replacement, that one of alternative that is a fuel of solid phase that become from briquette. The briquette that use is compound between nyamplung’s fruit and rice husk. In this case because in NTB nyamplung’s fruit and  rice husk  is overabundance.This research conducted three testing that are testing of heat value, testing of combustion rate, and testing of dry measure. In case where to testing of heat value using bomb calorimeter. Independent variable both of this research is combine. Between nyamplung’s fruit and rice husk with comparison 1:1, 2:1, 3:1, 1:2, and 1:3. The highest heating value is obtained from sample 3:1 as big as 4792,40 cal/gr, the lowest rate of combustion from sample 3:1 as big as 0,00156 gr/s and the lowest of dry measure lowest from sample 1:1 that is 21,52%.

Abstract

Dalam proses pendistribusian air bersih ke desa Pemongkong, sering terjadi kekurangan debit di beberapa dusun, sehingga pada penelitian ini akan dicari faktor apa saja yang menyebabkan debit aliran pada beberapa dusun sangat rendah.Secara umum kebutuhan masyarakat masih dapat terpenuhi. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari kebutuhan rata-rata (debit demand) harian berdasarkan SKAB DPU sebesar 9,96 L/s, sedangkan debit yang tersedia di sumber dari bulan Januari s/d Agustus 2012 lebih dari 9,96 L/s. Kemudian terjadi penurunan debit mulai bulan Oktober s/d Desember 2012, sehingga kebutuhan masyarakat tidak dapat terpenuhi. Sedangkan pada jam puncak beberapa dusun mendapatkan debit aliran yang sangat rendah, bahkan tidak mendapatkanya sama sekali. Hal ini disebabkan karena keterbatasan debit yang disediakan oleh sumber, dimana debit maksimum yang dihasilkan oleh sumber sebesar 12,4 L/s, sedangkan kebutuhan pada jam puncak mencapai 22,09 L/s.Selanjutnya untuk analisa head loss dan head tekan sisa, pada jam puncak untuk pemakaian maksimum (bulan Pebruari 2012) terdapat dua dusun yang mengalami head tekan sisa yang cukup rendah dibandingkan dengan dusun yang lain. Kedua dusun tersebut yaitu di dusun Ujung berdasarkan perhitungan manual sebesar 20,15 m, dan berdasarkan simulasi Epanet 2.0 sebesar 21,94 m, sedangkan di dusun Permas berdasarkan perhitungan manual sebesar -2,81 m dan berdasarkan simulasi Epanet 2.0 sebesar -1,50 m. Hal ini menyebabkan potensi hambatan aliran menuju kedua dusun tersebut cukup tinggi, dan aliran cendrung akan menuju tempat di mana Head Tekan sisa yang lebih tinggi. Permasalahan ini dapat diatasi dengan memperbesar diameter pipa transmisi yang menuju kedua dusun tersebut dari 2 in menjadi 3 in. Head tekan sisa yang dihasilkan setelah menggunakan diameter pipa 3 in adalah di dusun ujung berdasarkan perhitungan manual sebesar 111,31 m, dan berdasarkan simulasi Epanet 2.0 sebesar 112,45 m, sedangkan di dusun Permas berdasarkan perhitungan manual sebesar 102,72 m dan berdasarkan simulasi Epanet 2.0 sebesar 103,01 m.

Abstract

Indonesia has many sources of renewable energy. One of the source  renewable energy in Indonesia is biomass, because the price of biomass is relatively cheap and so far abundant numbers. Coconut dregs and hazelnut shell are biomass where these can’t be utilized optimally. Biomass can be made into briquettes which is a fuel with high calorific value.            The method used in this study is an experimental method. Begining the process with manufacture of briquettes which is the drying process of coconut dregs and hazelnut shell using the sun until dry, then the process of composing hazelnut shell. Raw materials crushed and sieved, after that the raw material made into briquettes by varying the percentage composition of coconut dregs and charcoal hazelnut shell as follows 80% : 20%, 60% : 40%, 40% : 60%, 20% : 80%. Then, the briquettes are tested their calorific value and moisture content.            The results show that higher heating value (HHV) and lower heating value (LHV) are the highest in the mix of AK 20% : ATK 80% is equal to 34,517 kJ/gr (8.242,819 cal/gr) and 34,172 kJ/gr (8.160,523 cal/gr). Meanwhile the briquettes moisture content range between 2,474% - 3,186% with average of 2,836%. In term of calorific value and moisture content, biomass briquettes from coconut dregs and charcoal hazelnut shell meets the quality standards set by the standards of Indonesia, Britain, Japan and USA.

Abstract

Fuel quality had a major effect on improvement of the engine performance. One of the reason is the engine performance to get off is detonation occurs in the combustion chamber. To support this effort is by using high octane fuel as Pertamax. By using those fuel, it is expected to economize the fuel consumption and reduces air pollution level. There by the improvement of the engine performance is expected to be happening.  This research was done to analyse the effect of premium and pertamax consumption in terms of torque, effective power and specific fuel consumption effective (SFCe) on Daihatsu Feroza engine 1589 cc. The instrument for measuring the torque of engine were trommel and brake power system by using brake material that adopts brake prony system.  The experiment was done at wide open throttle (WOT) at fourth transmission at 1600 rpm, 2100 rpm, 2600 rpm, 3100 rpm, and 3600 rpm.  The experiment result was gained maximum of torque, effective power and specific fuel consumption effective (SFCe) to premium gasoline RON 88 at 3600 rpm severally is 12,92 Kg.m, 64,93 PS and 0,10 L/PS.jam and to pertamax gasoline RON 92 severally is 13,52 Kg.m, 67,97 PS and 0,09 L/PS.jam. Average increasing of torque and effective power equal to 6,52% and 6,79%. While the average degradation of spesific fuel consumption effective (SFCe) equal to 16,18%.

Abstract

With the obtained value-indigo productivity on each SMEs, we can define improvement targets SMEs. By using reference values as a basis for selecting the smallest productivity of SMEs, then we can determine what we will improve. SMEs Dimas Silver and Songket gallery is a target implementation of productivity applied, because it has a partial productivity and totral smallest. Alternative workable is the addition of design and the use of E-Comers for both SMEs. Of the application of alternative sales increased 15% for Dimas silver and 10% to Songket Gallery. The impact of the increase in sales over the increased productivity of both productivity Dimas silver material partial first year of 2.86 and 3.28 for the second year. Average total productivity Songket Gallery 0.76 for the first year and 0.9 for the second year

Abstract

Rolling resistance is one of the main factors affecting the fuel efficiency of a vehicle. Rolling resistance is resistance to the wheels that will and has been rolled due to the force of friction between the wheels with the road surface of the wheel, due to the deformation process on the tire structure, contact area and road surface. Radial tires are tires where the reinforcing fibers on the carcass are arranged radially, have a greater ability to withstand lateral forces and generally have high ratio aspect ratio, widht smaller than the bias tires. The taguchi method is a new methodology in engineering aimed at improving product and process quality, minimizing cost and time. The purpose of this research is to know the air pressure influence, slip angle and tire width to rolling resistance. The research was conducted experimentally by using taguchi method. The result showed that the highest rolling resistance force accurred at a combination of air pressure of 175 kPa, 9o wheel slip angle and 90 mm widht of tire size of 36.914 N. While the smallest rolling resistance was obtained with a combination of parameters at the air pressure level of 325 kPa, slip angle 1o and the size of the 70 mm tire widht of 11.511 N at 350 rpm and normal load 580 N. From the result it can be concluded that the change in the level of the three air pressure parameters, the slip angle and size of tire width can affect the rolling resistance value.

Abstract

Milling process is one of many machining processes for manufacturing component. The length of time in the process of milling machining is influenced by selection and design of machining parameters including cutting speed, feedrate and depth of cut. The purpose of this study to know the influence of cutting speed, feedrate and depth of cut as independent variables versus operation time at CNC milling process as dependent variables. Each independent variable consists of three level of factors; low, medium and high.Time machining process is measured from operation time simulation program, feed cut length and rapid traverse length. The results of statistically from software simulation MasterCam X Milling, then do comparison to CNC Milling machine.  The data from experiments was statistical analyzed by Anova and Regression methods by software minitab 16.Results show that the greater feedrate and depth of cut shorten the operation time of machinery, whereas cutting speed is not significant influence. Depth of cut has the most highly contribution with the value of 49.56%, followed by feedrate 43% and cutting speed 0.92%. Optimal time of machining process total is 71.92 minutes, with machining parameter on the condition cutting speed is 75360 mm/minutes, feedrate is 800 mm/minutes and depth of cut = 1 mm. Results of comparison time machining process in software Mastercam X milling with CNC Milling machine indicates there is difference not significant with the value of 0,35%.

Abstract

In recent years many companies both micro and macro level national and international emerging. As UKM (Usaha Kecil Menengah) have an important role in opening new jobs and boost economic growth of a region. With the development of business world has been brought towards the increasingly fierce competition. That businesses are required to conduct an economic analysis that can help entrepreneurs to consider actions proposed in choosing the alternatives or strategic decision.This research aimed to analyze the feasibility of the operation of UKM bread (my bread your bread) Babakan Village by using BEP (Break Even Point).Location research Babakan Village, District Cakranegara, West Lombok. By collecting  various kinds of costs of making bread among other fixed costs and variable costs as well as to record income from the sale of bread in a period of 1 year. Examples of fixed costs is the cost of equipment, maintenance costs, the cost of building and examples of variable costs is the cost of raw materials, the cost of operation of the device, the cost of salaries, the cost of packaging.The results of this research indicate that UKM income Bread (my bread your bread) for 1 year is Rp. 912,000,000.00 of the total production of 1.14 million pieces of bread. This UKM bread achieve the BEP (Break Even Point) occurred in the month 4th at a fixed cost is Rp.30,250,733,33 and VC (Variable Cost) is Rp.212,240,114,71 on the amount of bread produced 303114 fruit bread with a TC (total cost) Rp.242,490,848.04. So that UKM Bread (my bread your bread) feasible to be operated. With the increase in the selling price of Rp.850.00 fried bread resulting increase in profit of Rp57,000,000.00 while the selling price of Rp.750.00 fried bread resulted in a decrease in profit of Rp.57,000,000.00 while equally produce 1.14 million pieces bread. By lowering the variable costs, employers can accelerate the achievement of breakeven levels (Break Even Point).

Abstract

This paper presents experimental results of pressure drop measurement and prediction of water flowing through a copper rectangular microchannel with a hydraulic diameter of 437 µm. The aim of this work is to identify discrepancies between experimental data and macrochannel theory. An inlet temperature of 60oC was kept constant at the channel entrance and the experiments were performed with Reynolds numbers (based on the mean velocity and hydraulic diameter) ranging up to 4500.  The results show that the pressure drop prediction agrees with the theory. However, the trend of Poiseuille number with the Reynolds number was not constant for laminar flow. This could be due to the entrance effect. Moreover, the friction factor theory could predict the experimental data for turbulent flow. Thus, in this experiment, the theory for flow in macro passages is still applicable.
