Abstract

Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) is a program designed to develop exceptional and prepared graduates to enter the community or the workforce. Islam-Muhammadiyah (AIK), as the speciality of Muhammadiyah colleges, seems to have "lost" its role of helping to put the MBKM program into place in higher education. This research is to explore the opportunities and challenges of AIK during the implementation of MBKM. This is qualitative research with a literature study method. The data was collected through the collection of library sources in the form of journal articles, books, and other references related to the theme. Content analysis is used to analyze, dissect, and interpret the data in a discussion about the opportunities and challenges of MBKM in AIK education. One of the opportunities for AIK to play an important role in the implementation of MBKM: a) college students are permitted to pursue AIK courses outside of their own study programs or institutions within the framework of Muhammadiyah colleges; b) AIK becomes a hue in every activity of the implementation of MBKM; c) AIK is one lecturer’s obligation (caturdharma). The challenges are a) the status of AIK is still regarded as quite unimportant and b) some disparities amongst Muhammadiyah universities. Muhammadiyah education and the higher education council must collaborate to give AIK a higher priority in the application of MBKM. Future research is expected to study the MBKM strategies in terms of AIK in Muhammadiyah colleges.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the improvement in the quality of learning biology, especially about the anatomy of the human body after using virtual reality media “The Body VR: Journey inside a Cell”. This study employed pre-experimental research with a one-group pretest-posttest design which was chosen at random, and no stability and clarity tests were performed before the group was given treatment. According to the findings of data analysis and field research at an Islamic Senior High School in Bekasi, students struggled to understand the anatomy of the human body in biology lectures. Observation data suggest that learning outcomes remain poor, at 65%, and problem-solving abilities remain low, at 70%. There are significant differences in students' analytical abilities in distinguishing, organizing, and attributing using Virtual Reality media compared to those who do not participate in Virtual Reality media learning in biology subject XI MIPA. This research recommended to pay greater attention to the use of suitable learning material, as well as to create additional space and facilities for instructors and students to use throughout the learning process. Also, the school must provide new breakthroughs in learning, such as updating up-to-date or up-to-date learning media and educating instructors to design and apply them.

Abstract

Some experts say that critical thinking disposition is a predictor of a person's critical thinking skills. The objective of this study is to assess the extent to which students possess critical thinking disposition, in order to forecast their critical thinking abilities in the context of biology education. This study employed descriptive research using a qualitative methodology, involving 74 students from 2 classes as respondents. The instrument used is CTDBT which includes 7 indicators namely Truth-seeking, Open-mind, Analycity, Systematicity, Self-confidence, Inquisitiveness, and Maturity. The results show that students have critical thinking dispositions in the weak category for maturity indicators, medium categories for indicators of open-mindedness, analyticity, systematicity, and self-confidence, and high categories for indicators of truth-seeking and inquisitiveness. Students at the senior high school level generally have a high curiosity and are always eager to prove the truth of something, but they still seem rushed, vulnerable, and unstable, so they require the development of skills and maturity in making decisions to solve problems.
