Abstract

Teacher professionalism is essential in fostering students' collaborative skills and integrating information technology in learning. At SMA Negeri 1 Kabila, teachers face challenges in designing effective teaching modules and utilizing digital tools for hybrid learning. This study explores how teachers manage these challenges and enhance their professional competence. This qualitative research employs a phenomenological approach, with data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The study examines teachers' strategies in implementing collaborative learning and digital technology integration, particularly in Project-Based Learning (P5). Findings indicate that teacher professionalism is evident in collaborative teaching approaches and the use of digital platforms. Teachers work with colleagues to improve instructional methods and develop students’ character. Despite this, they encounter difficulties in designing hybrid learning modules and effectively using digital tools. To address these issues, teachers engage in guided and independent training, receive mentoring, and utilize tools like Flip PDF Professional for content development and data management. While teachers make efforts to enhance their competencies, ongoing challenges in hybrid learning persist. Training programs and digital tool adoption help bridge these gaps, improving both teaching effectiveness and student learning outcomes. Future research should explore the long-term impact of these strategies on student performance. Teacher professionalism plays a crucial role in adapting to modern educational demands. Continuous professional development and digital literacy training are essential for optimizing collaborative learning and technology integration in hybrid education.

Abstract

Mathematics learning outcomes are essential indicators of educational goal achievement. However, many students, particularly in Grade X at SMK Tunas Harapan Bunobogu, Buol Regency, demonstrate low performance. Observations show that nearly 40% of students fall below the expected competency level, potentially due to limited interaction between internal and external learning factors. This study investigates the relationship between mathematical communication skills, learning quality, and mathematics learning outcomes. A quantitative correlational design was employed, involving 50 Grade X students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using validated questionnaires and mathematics achievement tests. Partial and multiple correlation analyses were conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics 27. Findings revealed a significant positive correlation between mathematical communication skills and mathematics learning outcomes, contributing 69.8% to the variance. Learning quality also showed a significant positive correlation, contributing 20.7%. When both variables were analyzed simultaneously, their combined influence on learning outcomes increased to 77.9%. These results suggest that both mathematical communication skills and learning quality play substantial roles in improving students' mathematics performance. Enhancing students' ability to express mathematical ideas, alongside improving instructional quality, could lead to better academic achievement. Future interventions should target both internal competencies and external instructional practices to optimize learning outcomes in vocational education contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the Sufistic values found in Soal Jawab yang Ringan-Ringan (Light Questions and Answers) by A.R. Fachrudin, a prominent Islamic preacher and Muhammadiyah leader from 1968 to 1990. The research emphasizes the educational relevance of these values, particularly their application in moral and character education through literature. A descriptive qualitative method was used, focusing on textual analysis rather than numerical data. The data consisted of written discourse, field notes, personal documents, and other official records. The analysis involved data reduction, presentation, interpretation, and verification. The semiotic approach was employed to identify the symbolic representations of Sufistic values within the text. The findings reveal that A.R. Fachrudin's writings convey key aspects of moral Sufism, including repentance (taubah), fear and hope (khauf and raja'), asceticism (zuhud), poverty (faqr), patience (sabr), contentment (ridha), and constant awareness of God (muraqabah). These values are categorized as "index" signs in semiotic analysis, indicating their observable and practical manifestations in daily behavior. The Sufistic values expressed in Fachrudin’s work hold significant educational potential, especially for moral instruction in literary contexts. These values can be effectively integrated into writing and literature curricula, such as through the creation of didactic short stories. The study suggests that incorporating spiritual and ethical dimensions into education can enhance students' moral development and engagement with religious texts in meaningful, reflective ways.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of Islamic spiritual education as a strategic approach to strengthening family resilience and preventing deviant behavior among adolescents in Babelan, Bekasi Regency. Despite growing concerns over youth delinquency driven by weak religious understanding, unstable family dynamics, peer pressure, and social media misuse, limited research has explored how spiritual education contributes to resilience building at the family level. Addressing this gap, the study adopts a naturalistic qualitative design, involving 24 participants (adolescents, parents, religious educators, and local officials), with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis. To ensure validity, data triangulation was employed, and analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The study is grounded in Grotberg’s resilience theory and Berger Luckmann’s social construction theory. Findings show that Islamic spiritual education significantly enhances adolescent and family resilience, with participants demonstrating improved emotional regulation, self-control, and reduced engagement in delinquent behavior (notably a 40% decline in reported cases post-intervention). Effective strategies include the internalization, externalization, and objectification of religious values through structured activities like “blue patrol,” informal mentoring, and school-socialization programs rooted in local wisdom. The study concludes that Islamic spiritual education functions both preventively and restoratively, offering valuable insights for policy and practice in family strengthening, youth development, and community-based crime prevention.

Abstract

Speaking is a vital component of English language learning, yet students often struggle to perform effectively due to various cognitive and social factors. This study investigates the influence of self-regulated learning (SRL), self-confidence, and social interaction on the speaking performance of English Department students. A quantitative correlational design was used, involving 55 third-semester students from STAIN Mandailing Natal. Data were collected through validated questionnaires measuring SRL, self-confidence, and social interaction, as well as a speaking performance test evaluated by two independent raters using criteria such as fluency, accuracy, and coherence. Multiple regression analysis was conducted using Minitab version 22. Findings revealed that all three variables significantly influenced students’ speaking performance. SRL showed the highest relative contribution (33.07%, effective contribution 17.56%), followed by self-confidence (27.29%, effective contribution 14.49%), and social interaction (26.53%, effective contribution 14.07%). Together, these factors accounted for 53.07% of the variance in speaking performance. The results suggest that students who actively manage their learning strategies, possess higher confidence, and engage in social interaction are more likely to excel in speaking tasks. These findings align with theories from Zimmerman and Vygotsky, emphasizing the interplay of cognitive and social factors in language development. Integrating SRL strategies, confidence-building activities, and interactive learning in EFL classrooms can significantly enhance students' speaking performance. Educators are encouraged to design pedagogical approaches that address these three domains holistically.

Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into adaptive learning systems has gained traction in vocational education due to its potential to personalize instruction and enhance competency-based learning. However, research on this intersection remains fragmented, particularly in the context of vocational education and training (TVET). This study conducts a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using the PRISMA protocol, combined with bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer, to map research trends on AI-assisted adaptive learning in vocational education from 2018 to 2023. Data were sourced from Scopus, Semantic Scholar, and Google Scholar, resulting in 41 eligible articles. The findings reveal a sharp increase in publications after 2020, reflecting growing interest in AI-driven innovations, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Bibliometric mapping identified three dominant thematic clusters: AI-enabled personalization, competency-based vocational education, and pedagogical innovation. Geographically, most research originates from technologically advanced countries such as the United States, India, and the United Kingdom. The study highlights the strategic role of AI-assisted adaptive learning in supporting individualized pathways and skills alignment in vocational education. It also identifies gaps in longitudinal evaluation, pedagogical integration, and research representation from developing regions. These insights provide practical implications for policymakers, educators, and curriculum developers aiming to modernize vocational training systems through AI.
