Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi antara: 1) kreativitas guru PAI terhadap peningkatan mutu pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama dan Budi Pekerti , 2) motivasi kerja guru PAI terhadap peningkatan mutu pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama dan Budi Pekerti , dan 3) kreativitas dan motivasi kerja guru terhadap peningkatan mutu pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama dan Budi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskripsi korelasional dengan melibatkan 33 orang sampel yang dipilih secara dengan metode sensus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan angket/kuesioner. Teknikanalisis data diawali dengan uji prasyarat yaitu uji normalitas dan linieritas. Uji hipotesis menggunakanuji regresi sederhana danuji regresi ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ; 1) Kreativitas guru berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan mutu pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti. 2) motivasi kerja guru berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan mutu pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti. 3) kreativitas guru dan motivasi kerja guru secara bersama-sama atau simultan berpengaruh terhadap mutu pembelajaran. Hasil analisis juga menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai dari ketiga variabel tersebut hanya dapat dimasukkan dalam kategori sedang, sehingga untuk meningkatkan kinerja guru dalam mengajar perlu diperhatikan faktor-faktor lain seperti: gaji, jaminan kerja, jaminan hari tua, penghargaan atas prestasi kerja, dan sebagainya. Kata kunci: kreativitas, motivasi, mutupembelajaran Abstract [The Relationship Between Teachers’ Creativity and Motivation Toward Learning Improvement]. This research aim at determine the correlation between the creativity of teachers on the improvement of learning quality of religious education and behavior, the work motivation of teachers on the improvement of learning quality of religious education and behavior, and the creativity and the work motivation of eachers on the improvement of learning quality of religious education and behavior. This research employed a method of correlation description with 33 Islamic education teacher were selected as sample by means of census sampling. Technique of collecting data employed questionnaire. Technique of data analysis began with prerequisite of normality and linearity. Hypothesis used test of simple regression and double regression.The study revealed that teacher creativity affects on the improvement of learning quality of religious education and behavior, as well as teacher work motivation affects on the improvement of learning quality of religious education and behavior. Futhermore, analysis show that teacher creativity as well as teacher work motivation affects simultaneously on the learning quality of Islamic Education. In conclusion, the average value of those three variables may be only included into medium category. Thus, to increase teacher performance, it needs other factors, such as; salary, job guarantee, pension, appreciation of work achievement, etc. Keywords: Creativity, Motivation, Learning Quality

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena minat baca siswa dan pengaruh minat baca terhadap pertumbuhan kemampuan belajar siswa pada jenjang-jenjang pendidikan selanjutnya. Kepala sekolah sebagai lokomotif perkembangan mutu pendidikan memiliki peran strategi bagi pengumbuhan dan pengembangan minat baca peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran kepala madrasah sebagai edukator, manajer, dan innovator dalam pengembangan minat baca peserta didik di MIT Nurul Islam Kota Semarang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif lapangan, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan triangulasi, serta dianalisis dengan teknik analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Peran kepala madrasah sebagai edukator dalam pengembangan minat baca peserta didik meliputi meliputi tiga pembinaan, yakni pembinaan mental dan moral, serta pembinaan artistik. 2) Peran kepala madrasah sebagai manajer dalam pengembangan minat baca peserta didik di MIT Nurul Islam meliputi penerapan fungsi-fungsi manajemen dengan didasarkan pada pada kerjasama dengan USAID dan UIN Walisongo Semarang. 3) Peran kepala madrasah sebagai innovator dalam pengembangan minat baca peserta didik di MIT Nurul Islam Kota Semarang meliputi inovasi strategi, pola pikir (mindset) dan struktur. Abstract This research is motivated by the phenomenon of reading interest of students and the influence of reading interest on the growth of students' learning ability in the next level of education. The principal as a locomotive of the development of the quality of education has a strategic role for the growth and development of reading interest of learners. This study aims to determine the role of principal as an educator, manager, and innovator in the development of reading interest of learners in MIT Nurul Islam Semarang City. This research is a qualitative field research, data collected through observation, interview, documentation and triangulation, and analyzed by descriptive analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that: 1) The role of principal as an educator in the development of reading interest of learners includes three activities are coaching, namely mental and moral coaching, and artistic coaching. 2) The role of principal as manager in the development of reading interest of learners at MIT Nurul Islam covers the application of management functions based on cooperation with USAID and UIN Walisongo Semarang. 3) The role of principal as innovator in the development of reading interest of learners at MIT Nurul Islam Semarang City includes innovation strategy, mindset, and structure.

Abstract

The students’ physics learning achievement at UIN STS Jambi was still low. It was caused by teachinglearning process which was still dominated by lecturer (Lecterer Centered) and the students lack of priormotivation to learn Physics Statistic. One of the solutions to solve those problems was that applying thecooperative problem possing model. This research was aimed at investigating the interaction ofcooperative problem posing model and prior motivation towards students’ learning achievement ofphysic statistic. The Population of this research was 41 students and sample was 20 students. It wastaken by using total sampling technique. This research was conducted in two classes namely experimentand control class. In experiment class, the students were taught by using cooperative problem posingmodel while students in control class were taught by using conventional model. Every class had twoclassifications of students, high motivated students and low motivated students. The data were taken fromquestionnaire and test which were conducted before and after treatment. Furthermore, the data wereanalyzed by using t-test and two ways anova for different number of sample. The results of data analysisshowed that there was no interaction between cooperative problem posing model and prior motivationtowards students’ learning achievement in cognitive domain.

Abstract

The use of interactive-video for teaching is a possible solution to the inadequacy of instructional materials because it enhances acquisition of practical skills in basic technology. The objective of this study was to determine the difference between performance of students taught using interactive-video and their counterparts taught using expository method. Thus, one research question was raised and one hypothesis was tested. The population for the study comprised all upper-basic students in Kwara State, Nigeria. Thus, the sample comprised of 32 students each from the two-sampled upper-basic schools. The sampled schools were randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. The quasi-experimental design was adopted. One research question raised was answered through its corresponding hypothesis one, which was tested through the Analysis of Covariance. Thus, the finding of study revealed that significant difference was established between the students taught using the interactive-video and their counterparts taught using expository method in favour of those who used the interactive-video. Therefore, the study concluded that interactive-video affords greater interaction between the teacher and students. In addition, it greatly enhanced the academic achievement of students. The study recommended that interactive-video should be permanently involved in the teaching of basic technology.

Abstract

Abstract This research discusses about an analysis of male and female students’ English performance in retelling story at eleventh grade at Islamic boarding school An-Nur Jambi. The aim of this research is to describe the English performance shown by the eleventh grade students (male and female) as a reference for the English teachers to enhance the students’ English story telling ability for both male and female students. This research used descriptive qualitative method. This method was used to describe the problem under discussion thoroughly. The students language performance in this research was assessd based on speaking proficiency description checklist modified from Adam and Frith. The result showed that in all aspects of speaking performance in story telling such as pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension towards the story, female students had higher score than male students. Abstract

This present study hears voices of in-service airlines passenger handlers about conversations between them and passengers that occur in their work desks almost every day and their language problem. They will share their experience about conversations with passengers related to their job tasks or procedures, which are routine, and other non-procedural conversation topics which may occur several times. Data are gathered through in-depth interview with three in-service staffs from separated distinguished airports in Indonesia that already passed their first year working. This study reveals that in handling checking-in passengers the staffs need to be able to use English in order to demonstrate both procedural and non-procedural conversations. Dealing with their job, however, the staffs still find several language problems during the communication with English-speaking passengers which make them feel insecure. In this way, this article will present real report from in-service staffs that can be a valuable source for ESP teachers or practitioners, course developers, and researchers.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan dimensi teologi dalalm praktek pendidikan pada Sekolah Dasar Islam Terpadu Nuruil Ilmi seraya menurunkan makna dari penerapan tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang menggunakan teknik non partisipan, wawancara mendalam, dan studi dokumen dalam pengumpulan data. Sedangkan teknik pemeriksaan keabsahan data menggunakan tranferability dan conformability. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ide teologi Islam mengilhami kerangka kerangka kurikulum, desain pembelajaran (proses belajar mengajar), pengembangan kelembagaan, dan pengembangan profesionalisme guru. Kata Kunci: Teologi, Pendidikan, Sekolah Islam Terpadu Abstrak [Theology Based Education; An Investigation at Integrated Islamic Elementary School]. The objective of this research was both to investigate the dimension of education theology applied by an integrated Islamic elementary school namely SDIT Nurul Ilmi Jambi and to reveal the meaning of those application. This was a qualitative research in which the researcher used non-participant observation, in–depth interview, and documentation to gather the data. The data was analyzed by a flow model technique. To check the validity, the researcher employed credibility /transferability and conformability. The finding showed that the notion on Islamic theology was implied in the curriculum frameworks, instructional designs (teaching and learning process), institutional development, and teachers’ professional development. Abstract

The study is aimed at investigating whether ICT based graphic organizer gives facilitative effect or not across the students’ difference level of writing ability. The study belongs to quasi experimental study by applying counterbalance procedure to collect the data. The participants are the 26 students of English department of Palangka Raya State Islamic Institute of 2017/ 2018 academic year. To test the hypotheses, a one way ANOVA test was applied. The research findings shows that, the data fulfills the normality using Shapiro Wilk test (p= 0.420, 0.046, 0.50, and 0.638> 0.05) and homogeneity of variance using Levene’s test (p= 0.541> 0.05). It is found that the F value is45.050, with the significance (p= 0.050> 0.000). Therefore, F table 4.040<45.050>3.190at the 5% and 1% of significant level (Df= 48). It meant that there is a very statistically significant difference on students’ writing achievement both for the bright and poor students between the students who writean expository essay using ICT Based graphic organizer and those who write an expository essay without using ICT Based graphic organizer

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study developed and evaluate Virtual Learning Environment for learning selected technical drawing concept in Ilorin metropolis. The study employed the use of design and development research of model type using the significant learning-integrated course design model. The sample size of the participants was five (5) Educational Technology experts and five (5) mechanical Engineering experts. This gave a total sample size of ten (10). Three research instruments were used in this study (i) developed Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), (ii) Educational Technology expert’s questionnaire (EEQ) and (iii) Mechanical Engineering expert’s questionnaire (MEEQ). The instruments were validated by experts. The reliability of the instruments was obtained using Cronbach alpha formula which yielded 0.76 coefficient. Four research questions were raised and answered. Findings revealed that educational technology experts and Mechanical Engineering expert rated the developed virtual learning environment high and effective for learning Technical drawing. However, the benefits of the virtual learning environments are unquantifiable and incomparable with the cost. The study recommended that provision of necessary technological facilities should be made by the government and private owners to schools in order to be able to implement and promote further use of technology in education.

Abstract

Abstrak The objectives of this study was to find out whether or not there was a significant effect of the using Think-Pair and Share technique at seventh grade students’ reading comprehension of Junior High School Satu Atap Bertam. This research was conducted at first grade students of Junior high school Satu Atap Bertam. This school is located in Muaro Jambi, there are two classes of seventh grade students, and this school uses school based curriculum. In conducting the research, the writer used the experimental research, and the design of the experimental research was a quasi-experimental research. The result of the research found two things: First, the writer has computed the two means score by using t -test formula; the value of t-test was higher than the value of t-table. It indicated that there was a different on the students’ reading comprehension that was taught by using Think Pair and Share technique. Second, the result of the analysis indicated there was a significant difference between the students’ reading comprehension taught by using Think Pair and Share technique and those who were not.
