Abstract

The entrepreneurship-based life skill education program for students continues to be improved andendeavored to be better learning than the previous one. The Purpose of this study was to describe lifeskills education based on entrepreneurship using a business model canvas at Vocational High School.The research used descriptive qualitative and using recorded technical literature study. Life skillseducation can be seen from entrepreneurship learning of Vocational high school students. One of them isusing a business model canvas which is a business planning tool that is presented in a visual form on onecanvas to explain, visualize, assess, and change an effort so that it can produce more optimalperformance.

Abstract

Abstract This research project is a case study conducted to investigate "Teachers’ perceptions of CPD effectiveness in Higher Education in Kurdistan". This will show the impact of CPD at the institutional and individual level, as well as to highlight the current CPD policies at the selected organization. The participants of this study were 120 teachers. The research took a quantitative approach and data were collected using close-ended questionnaires. For data analysis the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used. The findings indicate that CPD has a crucial role in the delivery of teaching. However, practitioners note that the sector dynamic is not organized. In other words, findings revealed a mismatch between individual needs and CPD policy, for instance, lack of ICT. In addition, it might be that policy makers are not addressing issues that have the potential to impact upon the higher education sector.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis pada Macromedia Flash Proffesional 8, khususnya dalam pembelararan fisika. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian dan pengembangan (research and development) yang mencakup langkah utama dalam penerapannya yaitu pendahuluan, perancangan media, danevaluasi. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa ada tujuh langkah dalam merancang media pembelajaran yaitu; analisis kebutuhan dan karakter siswa, perumusan tujuan pembelajaran, validasi dan revisi berdasarkan penilaian ahli, uji coba, dan revisi akhir. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis Macromedia Flash Proffesional 8 efektif digunakan sebagai media dalam pengajaran fisika, khususnya pada pokok bahasan Hukum Newton. Kata Kunci : Media pembelajaran, Macromedia Flash Proffesional 8, mata kuliah Fisika Abstract [Devepoling Macromedia Flash Proffesional 8 Based Teaching Media]. The purpose of the study was to develop teaching media based on Macromedia Flash Proffesional 8, particuraly for physics course. This Study employed research and development (R&D) design, including three major steps, there are; preliminary, designing media, and evaluating. The study showed that there are sevent steps in designing teaching media, including; need analysis and students character, formulating learning objectives, validating and revising based on expert judgment, trials, and revision. Abstract

Electronic resources are those data resources that can only be accessed through the internet with the use of computers and other ICT devices. The study was embarked upon to assess the level of utilization of e-resources by pre-service teachers in Colleges of Education in Kwara State. It employed descriptive survey research design. Using purposive sampling method, a total of 150 pre-service teachers from two colleges of education in Kwara state were selected. A researcher designed questionnaire, “e-resources utilization by pre-service teachers” (ERUPT) validated by educational technology experts was used to obtain relevant data. Analysis of data was done using descriptive statistics inform of mean and percentages. The study found that majority of the pre-service teachers were aware of the availability of electronic resources in the library. More than half of them did not make regular use of the resources. The major challenges include: poor network/internet connectivity, limited access to computer terminals, poor familiarity with the tools, too much information, lack of IT knowledge, inadequate power supply, among others. The study made some recommendations based on the findings of the study.

Abstract

The study's primary purpose was to investigate servant leadership practices among secondary schools teachers in East Darfur state Sudan. The sources of data for this research remained secondary school teachers and school principals. The primary data collection instrument was questionnaire for teachers. Besides, the sample school principals was an interview. The sample consists of 650 teachers and ten principals. Teachers were selected using simple random sampling; the school principals were selected using purposive sampling. The questionnaire was distributed to 284 teachers, and the interview was administered to 8 principals, 284 teachers, and eight principals who filled in the questionnaire and returned them. Descriptive statistics, one-sample t-test, and ANOVA test were employed in this study using SPSS to analyze the quantitative data. The qualitative data were analyzed utilizing the thematic analysis method and interview. The study's main findings indicated that there is statistical significance since it is P <0.5. There is a lower level of servant leadership practices in Eldaien secondary schools. One-Way ANOVA showed that were statistically significant differences between groups about the practices of the variables. In conclusion, the practice of servant leadership requires continuous practices to raise the level of school principals. The paper proposed research recommendations and significant suggestions. Since this study was delimited only to education in Eldaien within a single locality, in East Darfur State, the findings lack comprehensive and generalizability of the area. As a result, researchers are recommended to undertake similar research secondary schools at the national level and develop all-embracing and superior findings.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan aktivitas dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa melalui Model Konstruktivismedi kelas X C MAN Olak Kemang Jambi. Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilaksanakan secara kolaboratif dengan guru. Tindakan dilakukan dua siklus yang terdiri dari: perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 37 siswa kelas X C MAN Olak Kemang Jambi. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan lembar observasi, catatan lapangan dan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif.Dari hasil penelitian ini diketahui bahwa pembelajaran matematika melalui Model Konstruktivismedapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan kemampuan matematika siswa kelas X C MAN Olak Kemang Jambi. Hasil analisis data menunjukan bahwa terjadi peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa untuk setiap indikator yang diteliti. Peningkatan aktivitas siswa yang dimaksud adalah terjadinya peningkatan aktivitas siswa selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Siswa aktif merespon pertanyaan guru menyelesaikan soal-soal, mengemukakan alasan, menjelaskan kepada teman, mempresentasikan hasil diskusi kelompok dan membuat kesimpulan. Persentase siswa yang mencapai KKM untuk kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis pada Siklus I adalah 33%, dan kemudian meningkat menjadi 73 % pada Siklus II. Kata Kunci: Aktivitas, Kemampuan pemecahan masalah, Model Konstruktivisme Abstrak [Increasing Students’ Activities And Mathematic Ability Through Constructivism Approach]. This research is aimed at investigating the increase of students’ mathematic activities and problem solving ability by using constructivism model at grade 10 MAN Olak Kemang Jambi. This was a collaborative action research with two cycles of which cycle consisted of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. There were 37 students as the subjects from which the research gathered data by employing field observation and achievement test. The finding of the research showed that students were able to increase their classroom activities when the teacher employed constructivism approach: being active to complete the task, giving justification, explaining to classmates, presenting discussion result, and making the conclusion. I cycle one, 33% of students were able to achieve the minimum requirement score. In fact, there was an increase in cycle two an amount of 73% students who could achieve the score. Abstract

The aims of this article were to uncover the detailed content of an English textbook entitled “English in Context SMP/MTs Grade VIII” for Junior high school students as well as to investigate the technical quality of the book. The design of the research was a descriptive qualitative through which the English textbook entitled “English in Context SMP/MTs Grade VIII” written by Kasihani K.E. Suyanto and Sri Andreani was assessed. The book was read, identified, classified, and analyzed in terms of its content and technical quality. The findings were: 1) the book was sufficient in terms of the content because total score of the alignment between its content and curriculum was thirty-three (33), 2) in terms of technical quality, this book is sufficient within evidence of a total score which was thirty (30). Based on the data analysis above the writers concluded that an English textbook entitled “English in Context for Grade VIII” is good and appropriate for teaching English to the second grade students of Junior high school.

Abstract

This research aims to provide a valid character education for grade schools. This research was done due to the ineffectiveness of character education and development in grade schools. This developmental research was done using the ADDIE model with five phases; analysis of needs, product design, product development, implementation and evaluation of the research product. Data collection was done using an observational guide, interview, and documentation for curriculum designing, and questionnaires which will then be analyzed in order to find out the condition of current character education. Samples were chosen using a purposive sampling method, and the data was qualitatively and quantitatively processed. The research result shows that the current character education can be considered as good. The designed character education curriculum was validated by the curriculum, material, and language experts. Validation result shows that the curriculum is valid with minor revision. Field implementation shows that character education curriculum is practical. The curriculum’s effectiveness was tested using test result from selected schools. At SDN/MIN Pematang Gajah, the achieved criteria are considered as high with 98% lesson completion, at SDN/MIN Sebapo and SDN/MIN Tarikan the achieved criteria is considered as moderate with 75% and 78% lesson completion rate. Teacher’s book practicality was deemed as practical with a general score of 4,5.

Abstract

Test anxiety always makes students afraid of doing the test because they probably think that they will fail. To overcome the problem, the teacher then used gamification based assessment. Furthermore, the study investigate the category of students test anxiety, students’ attitudes toward Quizizz and the students’ preference toward the elements of game in Quizizz. This study is case study which the data were collected by using observation, interview and questionnaires. The participants of this study were 14 students in English course in Solo. The sampling used by the researcher was purposive sampling. The results of this study showed the category of students test anxiety considered moderately high, the students’ attitude toward Quizizz in reducing test anxiety also considered high (M= 3.94) and the kinds of elements of game which students prefer most were Points (M= 4.357), Test report (M= 3.929), Leader board (M=3.714), Time restriction (M=3.357), Profile (M= 3.429) and Meme (M= 3.357). The implication of this study is Quizizz successfully reduce test anxiety because of the use of game elements in that application. Thus, it is a good option for teachers to use Quizizz on the exam.

Abstract

Abstract This research discusses about an analysis of word. In linguistics, study of word is analysed under morphology. To specify the research, this research focuseson the use of word coinage in daily conversation of third semester students of English study program. The aims of this research to describe and find out some words of word coinage that used by the students in their daily conversation. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. There are three kinds of word coinage that explained in this research; Invention, blend and clipping. Invention is word processes that create a word by adapting a name of commercial product. Blend is a merge or combine two words become a new word. And Clipping is create a new word by shorter the original word. Key words: linguistics, morphology, word coinage
