Abstract

The reseach discusses about Brainstorming as method to improve the ability of critical thinking for student. The purpose of this research was to improve of critical thinking ability for students on science subject human organ material in class fifth grade at the state Elementary School 111 Sungai Abang VII Koto district of Tebo through brainstorming method. This research method was besed on Classroom Action Researchof Kemmis and Mc. Taggart.. The data obtained through observation, interview, documentation, and evaluation. Data analysis used data display, and conclusion or verification. Results of this research are showed on increasedstudent`s ability of criticl thinking through Brainstorming method in teaching and learning process. The evident could be measured from the evaluation of cycle I and cycle II with the average value in cycle I 68.89 and cycle II 76.12. For the level of completeness in cycle I 55.56% while in cycle II 83.34%. The findings that ability of critical thinkingwas could increased through brainstorming method on class fifth grade at The State Elementary School 111 Sungai Abang VII koto district of Tebo,has achieved of learning and this research couldn`t be generalized.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan self-regulated learning (SRL) guru matematika melalui Diklat Jarak Jauh (DJJ) matematika Madrasah Tsanawiyah. Untuk menggambarkan bagaimana self regulated learning guru, data lapangan pada subyek yang diteliti dan dideskripsikan diperoleh dengan observasi, wawancara atau angket. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pelaksanaan Diklat Jarak Jauh Matematika dapat meningkatkan self-regulated learning peserta diklat matematika, dari 47,68 menjadi 95.3 dan perbedaan rata-rata tersebut meningkat secara signifikan. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Terdapat peningkatan yang signifikant self-regulated learning guru matematika. sebagai peserta diklat antara sebelum dan sesudah mengikuti proses pendidikan dan pelatihan Kata Kunci : Diklat jarak jauh, self-regulated learning, guru matematika Abstrak [Title: The Improvement of Self-Regulated Learning Ability of Mathematic Teachers as Long-Distanced Training Participants]. This research is aimed at finding out the improvement of self-regulated learning (SRL) ability of mathematic teachers who became participants of long-distanced training at Padang Training Bureau. The researcher employed observation, interview, and questionnaire to gather the data. The analysis revealed that participants’ SRL increased from a score 47,68 to 95,30. The distance of score showed that there was a significant increase at 0,000 < 0,05 which means there was significant improvement of SRL after becoming long-distanced training participants. Key words: long-distanced training, self-regulated learning, mathematic teachers.

Abstract

This research has purpose to understand learning implementation condition at department of Arabic language, at FTK UIN STS Jambi, and trying to develop an integrated learning model for classroom learning teaching process in effort to increase Arabic scientific mastering. Object of study are students of Arabic language, at FTK UIN STS Jambi in 1 (first) and 3 (third) semester amount to 60 person.The method of this research is research and development method. The process performed in this research is to design and develop an integrated learning model in instructional field, after obtaining illustration and data from survey conducted to studied objects. Based on reality in field it showed that Arabic learning in departement of Arabic literature must still be improved. One methode is to developing the integrated learning model that can combine Arabic sciences into learning process, therefore it can be expected that students could appreciate Arabic sciences in comprehensive way. We hope this reaserch findings can be inputs for considering as an alternative in effort to develop an integrated learning model in Arabic instructional process.

Abstract

In learning activities that are the main focus is recognizing the character of students to determine learning resources or teaching materials that will be used in the learning process so that the objectives of the learning can be achieved. But in reality, there are still many parties who are not aware of this. So that the teaching materials used have not been able to develop the character possessed by students fully. One of the ways to develop the character of students in school is to integrate character education and religious values into integrated learning. The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of the learning module that will be used by students. The study uses the Research and Development (R&D) 4D model. The results of the study showed that the numbers obtained from design experts were 70.45%, material experts 75%, and linguists 75%, and student assessment results were 86.11%. At the testing stages, the average posttest has increased by 7.20690. Thus, the integrated IPA learning module is worthy of religious values used to develop students' independent character based on their level of feasibility.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini dilakukan karena proses pembelajaran di laboratorium Biologi IAIN STS Jambi yang masih minim sarana prasarana yang ada di laboratorium, sehingga menghambat proses pembelajaran khususnya untuk mata kuliah Morfologi Tumbuhan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan buku ajar praktikum dan mengetahui praktikalitasnya. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan menggunakan 4-D Models yang terdiri dari 4 tahap yaitu Define, Design, Develop dan Disseminate. Karena adanya keterbatasan waktu dan biaya maka tahap disseminate tidak dilakukan. Produk yang dikembangkan berupa buku ajar praktikum yang divalidasi oleh validator. Produk yang telah divalidasi dan dinyatakan valid oleh validator, kemudian diujicobakan pada proses pembelajaran yang bertujuan untuk melihat nilai praktis buku ajar praktikum di laboratorium Biologi. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah data deskriptif untuk memvalidasi perangkat pembelajaran oleh pakar pendidikan. Selain itu juga diteliti data praktikalitas penggunaan perangkat pembelajaran ini yang diperoleh dari observasi dosen dan respon siswa. Nilai validitas produk 83,31% yang dikategorikan valid. Sementara nilai kepraktisan berdasarkan data observasi keterlaksanaan SAP, angket respon dosen dan siswa dikategorikan sangat baik atau sangat praktis. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran di Laboratorium Biologi yang dikembangkan adalah valid dan sangat praktis digunakan baik dosen maupun siswa. Kata Kunci : Pengembangan, buku ajar praktikum, laboratorium biologi Abstract [The development of a course book for plant morphology at biology laboratory] This research was triggered by the limited facilities of the biology laboratory at the State Institute of Islamic Studies Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi which became a constrain in the teaching and learning process of Plant Morphology classroom sessions. The objective of this research was to develop a course book as well as to reveal its practicality. The researcher did a research and development using 4-D Models consisting of four stages namely; define, design, develop, and disseminate. Considering the limitation of time and finance, the disseminate stage was not executed. The test revealed the validity score of the product was 83,31% which categorized as good. For its practicality, the product was considered as very good based on observation of lesson plan execution and lecturers’ and students’ response. In summary, the course book developed for the course at Biology Laboratory was categorized as valid and practical to be used by both students and lecturers. Abstract

The problem of this study is “Does Concept Oriented Reading Instruction (CORI) enhance students’ reading achievement?” The design of this study was quasi-experimental. The sample of this study was taken from the population by using purposive sampling. The experimental group consisted of 39 students while the control group consisted of 35 students. The data were collected by using two instruments; test and questionnaire. The test was given twice to each group in order to see whether or not there was significance difference of pretest and posttest either in experimental or control group and whether or not there was significance difference of experimental and control group in terms of their posttest score. To prove the hypothesis, the data from pretest and posttest of experimental and control group were analyzed by applying paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test. The calculation was run by using SPSS computer program. The result of the study shows there was significance difference of students’ reading achievement between experimental and control group. Besides, the use of CORI as reading strategies was proved as effective reading strategies to enhance students’ reading achievement. Abstract

The study attempted to develop a syllabus and instructional materials that appropriate for the teaching of Essay Writing course Using Graphic Organizers. The Research and Development (R&D) procedure was employed in this study. The model used for designing the syllabus and developing instructional materials followed Yalden’s model known as Language Program Development with modification. The subjects of the study were the 48 students, the coordinator of English Study Program at IAIN Palangka Raya, and Essay Writing lecturer. The final product of this study is the instructional materials for nine meetings covering introduction to the essay (unit 1 meetings 1-4), illustration essay (unit 2 meeting 5), classification essay (unit 3 meeting 6), process essay (unit 4 meeting 7), comparison contrast essay (unit 5 meeting 8), and cause and effect (unit 6 meeting 9). Each unit consisted of learning objective, topic, sub-topic, description, relevancy, and keywords. The instructional material has been empirically tested in try-out stage. Based on the statistical calculation, it was shown that using proposed instructional materials gave facilitative effect on the students’ essay writing performance. Here, the t value of 8.639 was greater than t theoretic at the 5% (1.648) and 1% (2.423) of significant level.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative research that aims to determine the effect of extraversion personality interactions and agreeableness on the work involvement of lecturers at Raden Fatah State Islamic University Palembang, South Sumatra. The focus of this research is on the personality of the lecturer and aims to explore the influence of the interaction between extraversion and agreeableness on work involvement. The analytical method used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. The form of analysis of the validity of exploratory factor analysis and through the SPSS program, the results concludedit does not thatindicate that the interaction between extraversion and agreeableness has a positive and significant influence on work involvement. The results obtained by extraversion having an alpha of 0.945 extraversion have a significant effect on work involvement, while agreeableness has an alpha of 0.965, and work involvement has an alpha of 0.761. agreeableness has a significant effect on work involvement. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui model pendidikan karakter di Komunitas Belajar Qaryah Tayyibah (KBQT) yang berlokasi di Desa Kalibening, Kecamatan Tingkir, Kabupaten Slatiga, Propinsi Jawa Tengah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif-deskriptif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, sedangkan pemeriksaan kebasahan data menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1)Kurikulum pembelajaran Komunitas Belajar Qoryah Thayyibah diserahkan kepada siswa, mereka bebas untuk menentukan apa yang ingin mereka pelajari, (2)Penentuan jam belajar di Komunitas Belajar Qoryah Thayyibah betul-betul diserahkan sepenuhnya kepada murid, (3)Kegiatan penting dan rutin dilakukan oleh para siswa adalah Tawasi, (4)Melakukan MOS di desa dan lingkungan dimana sekolah berada, (5)Kegiatan yang dibarengkan dengan masa otientasi siswa (MOS) pada awal tahun pembelajaran ketika siswa baru pertamakali masuk sekolah adalah salah satnya membersihkan sampah di lingkungan luar sekolah, (6) Dalam konteks dakwah bil hal Komunitas Belajar Qoryah Thayyibah juga dengan dengan demikian telah berkontribusi positif terhadap penyadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya memelihara dan berinteraksi dengan lingkungan. Kata kunci : Pendidikan karakter, Komunitas belajar, Tawasi Abstract [Model of Character Education At Qaryah Thayyibah Learning Community]. This study aims at finding the model of character education model in Qaryah Tayyibah Learning Community (KBQT) located in Kalibening Village, Tingkir Subdistrict, Slatiga Regency, Central Java Province. This research used qualitative-descriptive method, where the study employed interview, observation, and documentation as data collecting techniques, and well as using triangulation as data trustworthiness technique. The results of the study are: (1) The learning curriculum of Qoryah Thayyibah Learning Community is given to the students, they are free to decide what they want to study, (2) The determination of study hours in Qoryah Thayyibah Learning Community is really left entirely to the students, (3) important and routine done by the students is Tawasi, (4) Conducting MOS in the village and the environment where the school is located, (5) The activity that is accompanied by the student's otientation (MOS) at the beginning of the learning year when the new student first enters school is one of the cleaning (6) In the context of dakwah bil the Community Learning Qoryah Thayyibah also thereby has contributed positively to the awareness of the community about the importance of maintaining and interacting with the environment. Abstract

Penelitian ini berdasarkan pada kondisi pembinaan seni baca Al-Qur’an pada pondok pesantren Rahmatul Ummah kabupaten Sarolangun yang masih kurang maksimal. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui langkah-langkah pembinaan seni baca Al-Qur’an pada pondok pesantren tersebut, dan mengetahui kendala yang dihadapi dalam melakukan pembinaan seni baca Al-Qur’an. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Analisis data menggunakan penelaahan dan reduksi data, unitisasi data, kategorisasi data, dan interpretasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: Langkah-langkah pembinaan seni baca Al-Qur’an yang digunakan yaitu sosialisasi program pembinaan, melaksanaan pembinaan pada sore dan malam hari. Kendala yang dihadapi guru dalam pembinaan seni baca Al-Qur’an adalah keterbatasan dana, kurangnya sarana pendukung, dan kurangnya tenaga pengajar profesional. This research is based on the condition of Al-Qur'an reading art coaching at Rahmatul Ummah Islamic boarding school in Sarolangun district which is still less than optimal. The purpose of this study is to find out the steps of Al-Qur'an reading art coaching at the Islamic boarding school, and to know the obstacles faced in conducting art reading in the Qur'an. The research method uses qualitative methods. Data collection techniques are observation, documentation, and interviews. Data analysis uses data review and reduction, data unitization, data categorization, and data interpretation. The results of the study show that: The steps of Al-Qur'an reading art development that are used are socialization of the training program, carrying out coaching in the afternoon and evening. The constraints faced by teachers in the development of Al-Qur'an reading arts are limited funding, lack of supporting facilities, and lack of professional teaching staff.
