Abstract

In the digital era, social media such as TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter have become public spaces that facilitate more unrestrained self-expression for Indonesian people. TikTok in particular is an essential platform for non-binary gender individuals and androgynous influencers in shaping identities creatively and performatively. This study aims to analyze the role of TikTok in the construction and representation of non-binary and androgynous gender identities, including ethical challenges as well as emerging audience responses. The research employs qualitative methods, analyzing video content, comments, and community interaction. The results show that TikTok facilitates gender expression and supports online community solidarity, although it is still faced with public bias, stereotypes, and ethical dilemmas around representation. TikTok also contributes significantly to building and affirming non-normative gender identities, but ethical attention is needed to ensure that diversity still respects the social value of society.

Abstract

The home industry, particularly the furniture sector, is experiencing rapid growth in Indonesia, in line with increasing consumer interest in unique and personalized customization products. However, this industry continues to face significant challenges, including a lack of collaboration with interior designers and technical limitations in meeting consumer requirements. This study aims to analyze the production planning process at Sabar Furniture, a furniture industry specializing in custom furniture, particularly for products produced without the involvement of interior designers, to identify the challenges and strategies employed to address them. This research employs qualitative methods and case studies to explore production planning challenges at Sabar Furniture. The results show that production planning at Sabar Furniture is conducted in a structured manner and is capable of implementing adaptive, order-based (made-to-order) production planning. However, in terms of function and aesthetics, the product will be more optimal if the production process involves collaboration between artisans and interior designers. This study offers insights into the importance of collaboration between artisans and designers in the household furniture industry, aiming to enhance product quality, achieve customer satisfaction, and address the rapid development challenges in the furniture sector.

Abstract

This article analyzes the incorporation of environmental norms into constitutional law, focusing on the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia within a comparative constitutional framework. Amid worsening global ecological degradation, the study investigates the extent to which the right to a healthy environment is recognized as a constitutional right and enforceable through legal mechanisms. Article 28H(1) and Article 33(4) of the 1945 Constitution reflect normative commitments to sustainable development, though in a general and non-justiciable form. Employing normative juridical and comparative legal methods, the study evaluates selected jurisdictions—Portugal, France, Ecuador, and India—which exhibit more progressive and enforceable environmental constitutionalism. The findings reveal that Indonesia's constitutional provisions remain insufficient in terms of clarity, institutional support, and judicial applicability. Therefore, this paper recommends a constitutional refinement through detailed and justiciable environmental provisions, accompanied by institutional guarantees. Strengthening environmental constitutionalism is essential to ensure intergenerational justice and ecological integrity within the framework of constitutional democracy..

Abstract

This study aims to examine how Generation Z students perceive Jakarta as an urban education city and how these perceptions influence students’ relationship outcomes. The research is grounded in the growing competition among education cities and the shifting ways students interpret cities as academic, social, and identity-forming ecosystems. A quantitative survey method was employed, involving Generation Z students studying in Jakarta, with constructs including city image, city attributes, city love, and university city brand personality. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that emotional attachment to the city and the personality of the city as an educational brand play a more decisive role in shaping student satisfaction, loyalty, and recommendation intentions than cognitive city image and functional urban attributes. These results suggest that in a complex metropolitan context such as Jakarta, affective and symbolic factors serve as key differentiators in strengthening student–city–university relationships. This study contributes to the literature on city branding and higher education marketing and offers practical insights for universities and city policymakers in developing education city strategies that resonate with Generation Z students.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital communication has transformed consumer decision-making processes, particularly through the increasing influence of electronic word of mouth (eWOM). Online reviews and consumer-generated content have become critical sources of information that shape brand perceptions and purchasing behavior in digital marketplaces. This study aims to examine the influence of electronic word of mouth on purchase intention through the mediating roles of brand image and brand trust in the premium skincare market. Drawing on the Stimulus–Organism–Response (S-O-R) framework, eWOM is conceptualized as the external stimulus, brand image and brand trust represent internal psychological responses, and purchase intention represents the behavioral outcome. Data were collected from 155 respondents who were familiar with SK-II skincare products and had been exposed to online reviews related to the brand. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that electronic word of mouth significantly influences purchase intention, brand image, and brand trust. Brand trust also has a significant positive effect on purchase intention, while brand image does not significantly influence purchase intention. Furthermore, brand trust plays a stronger mediating role than brand image in the relationship between eWOM and purchase intention. These findings highlight the importance

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the message design logics in the debate speeches of Luluk Nur Hamidah in the 2024 East Java Gubernatorial Election using O’Keefe’s Message Design Logic (MDL) framework. The study adopts a post-positivist approach with a qualitative content analysis method, focusing on messages as the unit of micro-level analysis. The research subject consists of the opening and closing speeches delivered by Luluk Nur Hamidah in the first, second, and third official gubernatorial debates. The data were obtained through speech transcription and segmented into 87 message units, which were subsequently coded into three MDL categories: Expressive, Conventional, and Rhetorical logics. The coding process was conducted systematically, and intercoder reliability was tested using Holsti’s formula. The findings indicate that Conventional Logic is the most dominant, followed by Expressive and Rhetorical logics. These results reflect a tendency toward message construction aligned with norms of politeness and communicative conventions in formal debate settings, accompanied by the articulation of social facts and programmatic statements. This study confirms the relevance of MDL as an analytical framework for mapping patterns of message design logics in political debate speeches at the textual level.
