Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine RDB (Regional Development Bank) performance in 6 provinces: Bali, DKI Jakarta, West Java and Banten, Central Java, East Java, and Yogyakarta from 2012 to 2022 using the Klaassen  Typology for evaluating banks by credit-to-deposit ratios and growth against provincial averages. Although regional development banks (RDBs) are crucial for regional economic development, previous studies have not provided a comparative framework to understand the disparity of credit and deposit growth between RDBs in different provinces. The result shows strong credit growth of Bank Bali without consistent, good credit management in Bank DKI while the deposits are not managed well, then Bank Jabar-Banten, which maintained the market share but lack of deposit strategy, while Bank Jateng still outperformed in most provincial growth, albeit at times, the growth is fluctuant, happened to Bank Jatim that shows inconsistent performance only to recover in recent years, and Bank DIY still achieved strong credit while poor in deposit. This study also suggests expanding the lending portfolios, looking for niche market opportunities, adopting financial technology, and having better credit distribution employments in line with regional economic growth along with better consumer education programs to improve the RDB performance. The results also help fill a research gap in structured performance evaluation for RDBs, and they help elucidate the need for tailored banking strategies that effectively sustain financial stability at the regional level.

Abstract

Rapid urbanization in Malang City's peri-urban areas has reduced agricultural land and increased economic pressure on farmers, leading to a decline in active farmers. To cope with these challenges, farmers develop resilience strategies to sustain their livelihoods. However, research on peri-urban farmer resilience remains limited, particularly in linking cultural and economic dimensions to survival strategies. This study analyzes farmer resilience patterns in response to land use changes and urbanization pressures. A qualitative approach was employed, using in-depth interviews and participatory observation with five landowner farmers and one key informant, a village official in Kedungrejo Village, Malang Regency. Findings identify five key resilience strategies: (1) perception of land as sacred ancestral heritage, (2) family solidarity, (3) financial adaptation through productive debt systems, (4) job diversification, and (5) Application of the life philosophy of Nrimo Ing Pandum values. These strategies are linear and flexible, allowing farmers to transition between resilience forms as needed. Theoretically, this study expands agrarian resilience discourse by integrating coping, adaptive, and transformative capacities in a dynamic peri-urban context. Practically, it offers policy recommendations, including incentives for farmland preservation and livelihood diversification programs within the agricultural sector, ensuring social and ecological stability in peri-urban areas

Abstract

This study investigates the role of corporate risk as a mediator in the relationship between sustainable finance, governance mechanisms, and auditor reputation on banking financial performance. With the increasing emphasis on sustainable finance, particularly following regulations like POJK No.51/POJK.03/2017, the integration of economic, social, and environmental factors in financial reporting has gained prominence. The research employs a quantitative methodology using SMARTPLS version 4.0 and SEM-PLS analysis, focusing on data from banking institutions listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2021 to 2023. The findings reveal that auditor reputation significantly enhances financial performance, while corporate risk negatively impacts it. Sustainable finance shows a positive but insignificant effect, and governance mechanisms do not significantly influence financial performance. Notably, corporate risk significantly mediates the relationship between sustainable finance and financial performance, indicating that effective risk management is crucial for leveraging sustainable finance initiatives. This study contributes to the understanding of how corporate governance and sustainable practices can enhance financial stability in the banking sector

Abstract

The growing energy demand in the hospitality sector highlights the urgent need for efficient and environmentally friendly renewable energy sources. This study investigates the potential for energy savings in hotel buildings through the implementation of rooftop photovoltaic (PV) systems in Magelang City, with a case study at Atria Hotel. The methodology involved analyzing secondary data on solar energy potential, estimating available rooftop area, simulating PV system capacity, and evaluating energy production and economic savings based on the hotel’s laundry energy requirements. The results indicate that Magelang has substantial solar energy potential, with an average Global Horizontal Irradiance (GHI) exceeding 4.8 kWh/m²/day. At Atria Hotel, a rooftop PV system with a capacity of 4.58 kWp can generate approximately 6,656 kWh of electricity annually, meeting around 25% of the laundry facility’s electricity demand. This implementation translates into annual electricity cost savings of IDR 2,635,136.73. These findings demonstrate that rooftop PV systems represent a strategic solution for enhancing energy efficiency and advancing sustainable hotel development in Magelang City.

Abstract

The use of secondary packaging in skincare product bundles is essential for the shipping process. Relying solely on bubble wrap presents drawbacks, as it is non-reusable and lacks aesthetic value. The absence of optimal secondary packaging increases the risk of product damage during distribution and reduces visual appeal, ultimately affecting consumer perceptions of quality and brand credibility. Therefore, the design and development of suitable secondary packaging is necessary. This study aims to identify appropriate design elements based on user perceptions using the Kansei Engineering method, which has proven effective in product development. A total of 43 Kansei words were extracted from 39 packaging samples, resulting in two primary design concepts: “Practical-Modern” and “User Friendly- Untenable” The selected design elements include: leather and plastic materials (X1.6), pouch shape (X2.7), leather handle with divider (X3.7), four-sided flip-top closure (X4.9), modern design style (X5.1), and transparent red color (X6.10). The highest correlation value (PCC = 0.8963) was found in the “shape” element, indicating its strong influence on consumer perception. The final design was implemented as a physical mockup. Evaluation results showed that 59.4% of respondents preferred the design concept reflecting ease of use. Fuzzy Logic analysis confirmed these findings, placing the design in a neutral category leaning toward user-friendliness. These findings offer valuable insights into how emotional consumer preferences can inform secondary packaging strategies for skincare products.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Green Packaging (GP), Environmental Awareness (EA), and Willingness to Pay (WTP) on Purchase Decision (PD), with Perceived Naturalness (PN) and Perceived Healthiness (PH) serving as mediating variables among street food consumers in urban settings. The research methodology employs a quantitative approach via a survey technique. The sample comprised 161 street food patrons chosen through a purposive sampling method. The investigation was conducted utilizing the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) technique. The findings indicated that GP exerted no significant influence on the purchase choice, whereas EA and WTP demonstrated a positive and significant impact on BD when assessed directly. The association between green packaging mediated by perceived naturalness is favorable and substantial, however it is not significant when mediated by perceived healthiness. Environmental awareness shows a substantial and favorable correlation with BD, either directly or through mediation by PN and PH. The willingness to pay exerts a positive and substantial influence on BD; however, when mediated by PN, this effect is not significant, but mediation by PH results in a positive and significant effect.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of social media engagement on trust and customer satisfaction, as well as how these factors affect repurchase intention among Spotify users from Generation Z and Generation Alpha. It also explores the moderating role of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) in those relationships. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 238 respondents through an online survey and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings indicate that social media engagement significantly increases both trust and customer satisfaction. In turn, both trust and satisfaction significantly influence users’ intention to continue using the platform. FOMO strengthens the relationship between social media engagement and trust but does not significantly moderate the relationship between engagement and satisfaction. These results suggest that emotional and social factors particularly personalized digital experiences and perceived social trends play a key role in shaping digital loyalty. The study highlights the importance for digital platforms like Spotify to focus on both social engagement and accurate personalization to maintain user satisfaction and loyalty.

Abstract

This qualitative study explores the influence of Green Intellectual Capital (GIC) on earnings management practices in Indonesian manufacturing firms. With increasing environmental concerns and corporate sustainability commitments, this research investigates how components of GIC, including green human capital, green structural capital, and green relational capital, contribute to ethical financial reporting. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with senior managers, financial officers, and sustainability officers in five listed manufacturing companies, involving a total of 15 participants. Each interview lasted between 60–90 minutes and was audio-recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using thematic coding to identify recurring patterns and divergent perspectives. The results reveal that strong GIC can act as an internal control mechanism, reducing the tendency toward earnings management by fostering environmental accountability and long-term strategic thinking. However, the study is limited by its relatively small sample size and reliance on self-reported data, which may not fully capture broader industry practices. These findings highlight the significance of embedding green values into intellectual resources to promote financial transparency while offering a foundation for future research with larger and more diverse samples.

Abstract

School buildings that use natural ventilation have challenges to Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) due to high noise intensity and the need to circulate air by opening windows. This study investigated SBS symptoms in schools closest to the airplane runway. Subjective measurements were carried out using self-administrative questionnaires to determine students’ perceptions. Objective measurements to obtain Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) data were carried out through an experiment of opening a window with an awning window type as far as 11 cm or 1/2 of the window span with an angle of 12.5. The average results of IEQ measurements on the thermal aspect include a temperature of 30.1 C, CO2 levels of 331 ppm, and wind speeds of 0.1-0.3 m/s have met the minimum comfort standards. However, the average humidity in the classroom has not been met. In addition, classroom noise is still far from the comfort standard, which is 70-109 dB. However, the results of the evaluation of students’ perception assessments of the IEQ of the room showed no symptoms of SBS in terms of physical and psychological aspects. Most students were not disturbed by the less-than-ideal thermal and acoustic conditions. However, students can experience long-term health problems and potentially experience psychological stress if they are continuously exposed to high levels of noise and less-than-ideal IEQ conditions.
