Abstract

This research is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) study that aims to identify and analyze the development of Augmented Reality (AR)-based electronic Student Worksheets (e-LKPD) in enhancing students’ creative thinking skills and interest in learning mathematics. The SLR method was employed to compile a synthesis of 15 peer-reviewed scientific articles published between 2018 and 2025. The articles were obtained through systematic searches using tailored keywords on academic databases such as Google Scholar and Semantic Scholar. The findings from the review indicate that AR-based e-LKPD has a significant positive impact on improving both students’ creative thinking and their motivation to learn mathematics. AR technology has been shown to effectively deliver learning content in a more visual, interactive, and contextual format, which enhances students’ active participation in the learning process. Through 3D visualization and immersive, real-world-like learning experiences, students become more interested and engaged, and are motivated to explore mathematical concepts independently. These findings suggest that AR-based interactive learning media can serve as an innovative solution to meet the demands of 21st-century education, particularly in STEM-related fields. This study provides a strong theoretical foundation for educators, instructional designers, and media developers in integrating AR into mathematics education. It underscores the importance of combining pedagogy and technology to create engaging, meaningful, and student-centered learning experiences that foster creativity and deeper understanding.

Abstract

Numeracy literacy and digital literacy are two essential competencies that need to be developed in mathematics learning in the digital era. However, field evidence shows that both skills remain relatively low among Indonesian students. While various studies have explored the development of digital learning media to enhance one of these two aspects, there is still a limited number of studies that specifically integrate both into a single learning medium supported by interactive platforms such as iSpring. This study aims to review previous research findings through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method on the development of iSpring-assisted mathematics learning media in improving students’ numeracy and digital literacy skills. Data were collected from 24 selected relevant articles published between 2018 and 2024. Considering the limited findings that directly address the use of iSpring in this context, the study seeks to identify the extent to which iSpring-based learning media is valid and effective in supporting the enhancement of numeracy and digital literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of mathematics learning using an ethnomathematics approach in improving students' conceptual understanding of quadrilaterals in grade VII at SMP Negeri 3 Godean. The research design was quasi-experimental with a one-sample pretest-posttest control group. Two classes were involved: VIIA as the control group and VIIC as the experimental group. The instruments used were pretest and posttest. The ethnomathematics approach linked geometric concepts to local culture, specifically the Joglo house in Yogyakarta. The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental group increased by 15.19 points, indicating a significant improvement in conceptual understanding. In contrast, the control group, which used conventional teaching methods, showed less improvement. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that mathematics learning with an ethnomathematics approach is effective in enhancing students' understanding of quadrilaterals. This approach makes learning more relevant to local culture, making it more engaging and meaningful for students.

Abstract

Mathematical communication skills and learning independence are very important for students to master. TGT is one of the learning models that can be used to improve mathematical communication and learning independence. This study aims to systematically examine the effect of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model on students' mathematical communication skills and learning independence. The method used is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with reference to the Kitchenham approach, including the stages of formulating research questions, searching for literature through academic databases (Google Scholar, Garuda, ScienceDirect, ResearchGate), and data analysis and synthesis. The selection was carried out on articles published in 2013–2025 with a focus on the TGT model in the context of mathematics learning and mathematical communication variables and learning independence. From the 15 selected articles, it was found that the TGT model consistently had a positive impact on students' mathematical communication skills. Through collaboration in teams and fun competitive activities, TGT encourages students to actively discuss, convey ideas verbally and in writing, and improve their mastery of mathematical representation. In addition, TGT also plays a role in fostering learning independence by increasing individual responsibility in completing tasks and taking learning initiatives. However, several studies have shown that the relationship between TGT and learning independence is contextual and influenced by internal student factors and learning design. The results of this SLR conclude that TGT is an effective learning strategy that is able to improve two essential competencies of the 21st century, namely mathematical communication and learning independence. Therefore, the implementation of this model is highly recommended as an innovative approach in mathematics learning

Abstract

Errors made by students in solving mathematical problems remain a common issue encountered in the learning process. Cognitive styles, such as Field Independent (FI) and Field Dependent (FD), are believed to influence how students comprehend and solve mathematical problems. Based on this premise, this study aims to analyze students' errors in solving mathematical problems by taking into account their cognitive styles, namely Field Independent (FI) and Field Dependent (FD). This research was conducted at SMAN 1 Besuk using a qualitative descriptive method and involved six students selected based on the results of the Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT). Data were collected through the GEFT, problem-solving tests, and interviews, then analyzed using Newman's Error Analysis Procedure. The findings show that students with an FI cognitive style typically made errors in process skills (17.13%) and in constructing final answers (20.00%). In contrast, students with an FD cognitive style frequently made errors in problem transformation (45.71%), process skills (57.14%), and final answers (65.71%). Several factors contributing to these errors include lack of accuracy, rushing through tasks, misinterpreting implicit information in the problems, and failing to recheck final answers. The study concludes that cognitive style influences both the types and frequency of errors students make when solving mathematical problems. These findings highlight the importance for educators to develop instructional strategies that are better aligned with students' cognitive styles to enhance learning effectiveness.
