Abstract

This study aims to produce teaching materials in the form of E-LKPD based on PMRI approach on Cube and block material that is valid, practical, and has a potential effect on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students in Class VIII of SMP Negeri 18 OKU. The research method used is a research development method consisting of preliminary stage (analysis stage and design stage) and prototyping stage using formative evaluation flow (self-evaluation, expert review, one-to-one, small group, and field test). Data collection was conducted using questionnaires, interviews and tests. The results of this study are: (1) E-LKPD based on PMRI approach developed qualitatively valid seen from the comments and suggestions of the validator, in addition quantitatively with the results of the validation sheet analysis by obtaining an average score of 80.9 at the expert review stage. These results show that the PMRI approach based on E-LKPD is in the very good category (2) e-LKPD based on PMRI approach developed is very practical qualitatively and quantitatively by obtaining an average score of 84 at the one-to-one stage, 88 at the small group stage and 88 at the field test stage. (3) E-LKPD based on PMRI approach developed has a potential effect on the ability to understand mathematical concepts with an average value of 73.8.

Abstract

Student learning outcomes are a key indicator for measuring educational achievement. The level of academic performance reflects the extent to which students have successfully achieved their educational goals. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that influence students’ academic achievement. The research was conducted at SMAN 1 Taman Sidoarjo, specifically involving students from class X E 3. The research method used was descriptive qualitative. Qualitative data were obtained from interviews and students' midterm exam (PTS) results. Data collection was carried out in three stages: observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings of this study reveal that the learning outcomes of students at SMAN 1 Taman were not met due to two main factors. These two primary factors influencing academic performance are internal and external factors. The internal factor that affected students’ academic achievement was time management. The external factors included ineffective teaching methods, last-minute distribution of study guides, limited time for completing exams, inconsistency between the study guide and the exam questions, and a new exam application system for grade X students, which caused various difficulties.

Abstract

Mathematics has an important role in various disciplines in developing human thinking, by studying mathematics, students are more critical in understanding problems in daily life. This research aims to analyze the factors that cause mathematics learning difficulties experienced by class IV students at SDN Sonosewu. This research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. The subjects of this research were class teachers and class IV students who were identified as having difficulties learning mathematics. Data collection techniques in this research are observation, interviews, documentation and field notes. The data analysis techniques used in this research are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/verification. The results of the research show that 1) The difficulties in learning mathematics experienced by class IV students at SDN Sonosewu are difficulty understanding the concept of fractions, difficulty in calculating multiplication and division skills, and difficulty solving questions in the form of story problems. 2) Factors that cause difficulties in learning mathematics consist of internal factors and external factors. Internal factors that cause learning difficulties are sensory abilities, students' interest in mathematics lessons is still low, learning attitudes are still low, students' motivation and habits in learning mathematics are also low. Meanwhile, external factors that cause learning difficulties are the teacher's less attractive teaching methods, the teacher's relationship with students, and the lack of learning facilities.

Abstract

The profitability of cooperatives significantly impacts the amount of loans they possess. Therefore, it is crucial to calculate the minimum loan amount to maintain cooperative profitability. This study applies the iterative method of nonlinear equations using the Secant method, suitable for cases near the peak of graphs that cannot be computed using the Newton- Raphson method. The research sets a predefined iteration limit to control the number of iterations, enhancing overall calculation efficiency. The Secant method is implemented using MATLAB software, enabling precise analysis and evaluation of cooperative financial conditions. The research aims to provide practical guidance in cooperative financial management, focusing on maintaining profitability and loan growth. Thus, the study contributes not only theoretically to the field of nonlinear equations but also practically to cooperative management. Through this approach, the study seeks to deepen understanding of how cooperatives can utilize numerical methods to optimize their loan policies, avoid losses, and sustain financial viability. The findings serve as a foundation for researchers and practitioners to develop more  effective strategies in cooperative management, strengthening their role in supporting the local economy and empowering members sustainable.

Abstract

This research aims to develop QR Code-assisted teaching materials to enhance students numeracy skills in the SPLDV (System of Linear Equations with Two Variables) topic for Class X students at MA Nurul Huda Bercak Asri Cerme Bondowoso. The research is an R & D (Research and Development) research or commonly known as development research, where development research is a different research from other research, because in this research we are required to develop a product that already exists so that it is suitable for use now or even in the future. The R & D research method used in this study uses the four-D or 4D model, namely: Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate. The teaching materials or modules developed in this study have been equipped with several videos that explain the material or examples of questions. In addition, the learning devices that have been developed have gone through validation tests, practicality tests and effectiveness tests. In this study, researchers used several samples of class X MA Nurul Huda Bercak Asri Cerme Bondowoso students, namely 10 people to carry out validation tests, practicality tests and effectiveness tests of learning devices. The results of the data analysis of QR code-based learning devices have met the criteria for quality and feasibility of developing learning devices that have been set, namely meeting the validity criteria with a result of 93.3%, effectiveness with a result of 86% and practicality with a result of 80%.

Abstract

Interest in learning is also the key to success in learning. Interest in learning is doing a learning activity to increase knowledge and skills as well as experience and driving force from within each individual. The development of a QR Code-based module was carried out to increase students' interest in learning quadratic equations. The research was conducted at MTs Nurul Huda Bercak Asri Cermee Bondowoso. The subjects used were class X students. The research method used in this study is Research and Development with a four-D model, namely, define, design, develop and disseminate. The expert validation test was carried out by 3 experts with a percentage of test results, namely linguists 93.3%, media 80% and materials 93.3%. For the practicality test, the researcher used 2 stages, namely teacher activity analysis and student activity analysis. With the percentage of teacher activity analysis results of 80%, student activity 87.3%. While for the effectiveness test of learning devices, it was carried out through 2 assessments, namely student response questionnaires and KKM completion. Based on the research that has been carried out, the results obtained were, student response questionnaires 83.3% and KKM completion 86%. After the learning device test was carried out, a validity test, reliability test and T-Test test were carried out. The results of the validity test that had been carried out were valid with the acquisition of r-calculated data above the provisions of all r-tables. The reliability test also showed reliable decisions. While for the T-Test test there was also an increase in student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of self confidence on student’s mathematical problem solving abilities. The population in this research was all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Sewon Bantul in the odd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The population in this study were all students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Sewon Bantul for the 2024/2025 academic year. The sample in this research was class VIIIB which was selected using a purposive sampling technique. with a total of 29 students. Research data taken in the form of quantitative data obtained from self-confidence questionnaires and tests of student’s mathematical problem solving abilities. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using linear regression analysis obtained diperoleh nilai 0,501, sehingga persamaan regresi linearnya adalah Ŷ = 55,153 + 0,501X and correlation coefficient, it can be concluded that self-confidence has an effect on student’s mathematical problem solving abilities.

Abstract

Accompanied by advances in modern data analysis technology, the abundance of social data in the industrial revolution 4.0 motivates educators to incorporate statistical principles into classroom learning. Questions covering statistical material are still difficult for students to solve, according to previous research. This research aims to determine the types of errors made by students in solving statistics problems based on learning styles (visual, auditory and kinesthetic). Ninth grade students at SMP Darussalam Tegal Joyo participated in this research, which used a qualitative descriptive methodology. The results of this research show that 1. visual learners make conceptual and procedural errors in this case they do not understand the concept of combined average, so the formula they use when solving problems is not precise and the way to calculate the median class does not use cumulative frequency. 2. Auditory learners make conceptual and procedural errors, they misunderstand the concept of compound average and also fail to use cumulative frequency to obtain median class. 3. Kinesthetic participants made a procedural error by not using cumulative frequency to get the median class.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are essential skills in the 21st century. With the development of ICT, critical thinking skills can be integrated with learning applications. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of using the EnveMath learning application to improve students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is an experimental research with a pretest posttest control group design. The population used in this study is grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 11 Yogyakarta. The sample in this study is class VIII C as an experimental class and class VIII D as a control class with each class totaling 34 students. The data collection technique uses interviews, observations, and critical thinking test questions on opportunity materials. The results of the study show that the use of the EnveMath learning application is effective in improving critical thinking skills. This is because the EnveMath learning application guides students in analyzing mathematical problems logically and systematically through critical thinking indicators presented in the application. This is supported by the results of the statistical data test which is based on the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test test from the experimental class and the control class has a sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05, the Mann-Whitney U Test has a sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05 which means that the use of the EnveMath learning application in the classroom is more effective than the class that does not use the EnveMath learning application. Then, the mean difference test shows that the average increase in the experimental class is greater than the average increase in the control class (49.26 > 25.41). Thus, the use of the EnveMath learning application during learning Mathematics is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Problem-solving is one of the most important skills for students to have. One of the efforts to develop students' problem-solving skills is to conduct learning using modules designed to improve problem-solving abilities. The purpose of this research is to develop a good quality trigonometry course module that meets the criteria of being valid, practical, and effective. The type of research conducted is research on the development of the Borg & Gall model. The Borg & Gall model consists of potential and problem phases, data collection, product design, design validation, usage trials, product revisions, product trials, design revisions, product revisions, and mass production. The subjects of this study were the first semester students of the Mathematics Education Study Program, Tidar University. Data were analyzed based on the level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the module. The results showed that the module was included in the valid category and the practical category. The aspect of effectiveness based on the results of the posttest with problem-solving questions is said to be effective. The result of the development in this research is the product of a trigonometry course module based on problem solving that is valid, practical, and effectively used for mathematics education students. The contribution of this research is that the module can be used in trigonometry lectures.
