Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui dan mengkaji lebih dalam kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa ditinjau dari tipe kepribadian tipologi Hippocrates-Galenus. Pene­litian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII D SMP Negeri 02 Lumajang yang berjumlah 32 siswa. Dalam penelitian ini terdapat 4 subjek yang diteliti secara rinci. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket/kuesioner, soal tes, dan wawancara. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah angket tipe kepribadian, soal tes, serta pedoman wawancara. Analisis data yang yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yang paling baik yaitu tipe kepribadian Melankolis. Siswa bertipe kepribadian Melankolis memiliki skor tertinggi serta dapat melalui 4 tahapan Polya yaitu, memahami masalah, merencanakan penyelesaian, melaksanakan rencana, dan memeriksa kembali jawaban. Siswa bertipe kepribadian Sanguinis merupakan siswa yang sulit memahami, kurang teliti dan membutuhkan arahan. Siswa bertipe kepribadian Koleris cenderung fokus satu soal saja. Sedangkan siswa bertipe kepribadian Phlegmatis sulit memahami, dan mengerjakan soal dengan terburu-buru.Kata kunci: Pemecahan Masalah, Tipe Kepribadian, Hippocrates-Galenus

Abstract

Creative thinking was characterized by the emergence of new ideas which was an important skill for students. Lateral thinking was one way to grow new ideas. Generally, related research was carried out to see the thinking process and its level only with the results of the majority of low levels (especially in geometry problems), so further research was needed to find out what were the obstacles. This study aims to find mathematical lateral thinking barriers  based on brain dominance. This research was a qualitative research with a case study approach. The instruments were a brain dominance test, creativity questions, and geometry questions for lateral thinking. Triangulation of data collection techniques was carried out To ensure data validity. Obtained two main subjects LCS and RCS. Analysis of subjects' answers, interview and observations transcripts were carried out by coding the inhibiting factors then analyzed by Toulmin's arguments analysis. We findings that left-brain dominant student experience ontogenic barriers in finding something new caused bounded by concepts and right-brain dominant student experience epistemological barriers in finding different ways cause bounded by context. Further research was needed with students who have high mathematical abilities and creativity to find out how to overcome lateral thinking obstacles.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi matematika siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal TIMSS konten aljabar ditinjau dari pengetahuan deklaratif, prosedural, dan kondisional berdasarkan indikator kemampuan literasi matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif untuk menggambarkan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa.  Sebanyak 9 siswa SMP kelas VIII-B Islam Kunir menjadi subjek dalam penelitian ini. Data dikoleksi menggunakan kuesioner pengetahuan metakognisi, tes kemampuan literasi matematika, serta lembar wawancara. Dihasilkan bahwa siswa dengan pengetahuan deklaratif dalam menyelesaikan soal TIMSS konten aljabar hanya mampu merumuskan masalah nyata dalam pemecahan masalah matematika. Siswa berpengetahuan prosedural dalam menyelesaikan soal TIMSS konten aljabar tergolong tidak mampu pada semua indikator. Pada siswa berpengetahuan kondisional dalam menyelesaikan soal TIMSS konten aljabar hanya mampu merumuskan masalah nyata dalam pemecahan masalah matematika. Siswa belum mampu menggunakan matematika, menafsirkan dan mengevaluasi solusi matematika.The study's objective was to ascertain the mathematical literacy abilities of the students in solving algebraic content TIMSS questions in terms of declarative, procedural, and conditional knowledge based on indicators of mathematical literacy ability. A qualitative descriptive method is used in the research to examine students' mathematical literacy skills. A total of 9 students of class VIII-B Islam Kunir became the subjects of this study. Data were collected using metacognition knowledge questionnaires, mathematical literacy ability tests, and interview sheets. It was found that students with declarative knowledge in solving TIMSS algebraic questions were only able to formulate real problems in solving mathematical problems. Students with procedural knowledge in solving TIMSS questions with algebraic content are classified as unable on all indicators. Students with conditional knowledge in solving TIMSS questions with algebraic content are only able to formulate real problems in solving mathematical problems. Students have not been able to use mathematics, interpret and evaluate mathematical solutions..

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the problem-solving ability of eighth-grade junior high school students in terms of cognitive style in solving two-variable linear equations. This research is a descriptive study using a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII SMPN 1 Senduro, namely four students from each of two different types of cognitive styles. Collecting data using questionnaires, test methods, and interview methods. According to Polya, there are four steps in the problem-solving ability of students, namely understanding, planning, implementing, and re-checking. The results showed that students with a field-dependent cognitive style had difficulty in analyzing a problem because they could not apply the four Polya problem solving while the field independent type cognitive style was very able to apply the four problem-solving steps according to Polya, namely, understanding, planning, implementing, and doing recheck.

Abstract

This study examined the process of constructing mathematical problems to teach creativity using the concept of lateral thinking. It employed a case study design and involved a senior junior high school mathematics teacher who has won mathematics learning innovation competitions. The teacher has understood what is meant by mathematical creativity and lateral thinking, and has proven his mathematical ability and lateral thinking ability. He was asked to create his own math problems, teach creativity, and assess students' math learning outcomes using the problems. The findings of this study highlight three key relationships: (1) the connection between mathematical content knowledge and problem-structuring ability, (2) the influence of training experience on methods for teaching creativity, and (3) the interrelationship among content knowledge, training experience, and assessment practices. These highlight the importance of integrating content knowledge and pedagogical approaches in mathematics learning to enhance creative problem-solving skills.

Abstract

Numeracy literacy and digital literacy are two essential competencies that need to be developed in mathematics learning in the digital era. However, field evidence shows that both skills remain relatively low among Indonesian students. While various studies have explored the development of digital learning media to enhance one of these two aspects, there is still a limited number of studies that specifically integrate both into a single learning medium supported by interactive platforms such as iSpring. This study aims to review previous research findings through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method on the development of iSpring-assisted mathematics learning media in improving students’ numeracy and digital literacy skills. Data were collected from 24 selected relevant articles published between 2018 and 2024. Considering the limited findings that directly address the use of iSpring in this context, the study seeks to identify the extent to which iSpring-based learning media is valid and effective in supporting the enhancement of numeracy and digital literacy.

Abstract

STEM learning is highly engaging, but many high school biology teachers in Lumajang Regency are still confused about how to implement it in biology lessons. The goal of this community service project is to expand the understanding of concepts and enhance the skills of high school biology teachers in designing STEM-PjBL (Project-based Learning) lessons. The project consists of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. In the preparation stage, field surveys and coordination with partners were conducted. In the implementation stage, materials on STEM-PjBL were provided, followed by hands-on practice in developing teaching tools and interactive discussions. In the evaluation stage, pre-tests and post-tests were used to assess participants' knowledge. The analysis of pre-test and post-test results showed a 2.29% increase in the knowledge of biology teachers in Lumajang Regency about STEM-PjBL learning. While the teachers' knowledge was quite good, they still need a deeper understanding of the application of STEM-PjBL. Additionally, this community service resulted in the development of educational media, such as a biocomposter edukit and aquaponic edukit, which can be sustainably used for school-based learning activities.

Abstract

Banyaknya pihak guru di desa dadapan mengalami kesulitan dalam menerapkan Implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka (IKM) dalam pembelajaran. Selain itu pembelajaran berdiferensiasi belum ada bentuk pelatihan di desa dadapan. Penerapan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi desa dadapan tidak maksimal dan cenderung menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Tujuan dilaksanakan kegiatan ini adalah mengadakan workshop desain pembelajaran berdiferensiasi menggunakan Artificial Intelligence (AI). Metode pelaksanaan tahapan-tahapan kegiatan pelaksanaan Pelatihan ini meliputi persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Sedangkan metode dalam pelatihan yakni Ceramah, tanya jawab, dan pendampingan, serta praktik. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 28 peserta yang dilaksanakan di SMPN 2 Gucialit. Hasil yang diperoleh diantaranya sebagian peserta bahwa kegiatan pelatihan bermanfaat bagi guru dan peserta juga mengalami peningkatan dalam keterampilan dan pengetahuan tentang pembelajaran berdiferensiasi memanfaatkan artificial intelligence (AI).

Abstract

The majority of vocational mathematics teachers in Lumajang region provide mathematics materials traditionally using textbooks as learning resources. Whereas the fast development of technology can support the improvement of teachers' Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK). The use of technology such as Canva and Mathcitymap applications makes teaching materials look better, real, and more attractive. It was necessary to improve teachers' soft skills in mastering the Canva and Mathcitymap applications so that their skills in integrating technology in mathematics learning materials also increased. The implementation of this project uses training and mentoring methods for service partners, namely members of the MGMP of vocational mathematics teachers of Lumajang Regency in the odd semester of 2023/2024. Training was conducted online through zoom meetings and mentoring was carried out directly to selected teachers to practice the use of Canva and Mathcitymap. The results of the program showed an increase in mastery the concept of "Canva as an interactive math learning media" at 84.7%, an increase in mastery of the concept of "Mathcitymap" as a learning support application at 80.3%, and an increase in teachers' TPACK in making digital math learning media at 84%. This high increase in skills and knowledge needs to be balanced with the availability of digital facilities and infrastructure at school, which is the main obstacle faced by teachers at this time.
